Thank you John. Im glad you pointed that out. Too many times i see load exhausts on these bugs. I hate the stinger exhaust with a passion. I wanted something i could daily drive. Street car
in 1990 i had this money pit called a 67 Bug, building it took all my spare time. long story short, that was one of the quickest vehicles I've ever owned, it hooked up super well and having a shorter 3rd and 4th just made it get to a 100 faster. id embarrassed some V8 drivers so bad, they wouldn't even come to the next stoplight.. lol. thank for the video, i know hard they are to film and edit. P.S. VWs will always be one of my favorite vehicles.
Thank you for sharing Charles, That was awesome to read! Haha thats why they called them the V8 killers. 67 was a unique year for VW’s And yes sadly they are money Pitts’s. It sounds like you had a blast! Getting another for yourself might not be a bad idea. You make many friends this way.
Very nice job done by you... I only see one thing wrong... Webers are supposed to have no more than 3 lbs. Fuel pressure... I don't see a fuel pressure regulator... Jegs has one, it has to be intended to calibrate between 1 to 4 lbs. Fuel pressure... It's different than the bigger ones... Comes with fittings and a fuel pressure gauge... For about $70 bucks... Thank you for the heads up Frank. so at the moment I'm running a faucet electric fuel pump that regulated 1.5-3lbs psi. powering that i have an electronic fuel pump module that primes the fuel system for 3 seconds with key on
@@shariff4175 Glad to hear it. I had a similar exhaust system. It was a little low for my lowered car. Every time I drove over a speedhump or into my garage it scraped and yanked the muffler of the J pipe clamp. I went to the sidewinder muffler. It sits higher and the big single muffler goes well up under the right hand rear guard. The only issue is when I re check my valve clearances. It muffler off at the header pipe to get to the valve cover and check/adjust the right side. Bugs are cool.
@@shariff4175 No, it has a much deeper exhaust note. Not stupid loud but a fair bit louder than the twin quite pack. You can get an Idea on this video of mine. ruclips.net/video/8d22eaB5xZs/видео.html
thank you! unfortunately not yet, still have never driven this car. its made by duplicolor metalcast metallic blue, its temperature rating is higher then normal engine paint
Hay buddy I’m interested in doing a motor very similar to yours I want to use my original case with a 82 stroke crank in the video the motor sounds like it’s idling fast as I can’t here the lump of the cam but what bore size hav you used and , any benefits or using Chev rods and did you use B pistons thanks. You’re motor sounds good 👍 ooo last what heads did you use 😊
Hi, you know its been a while ill have to check the boxes. My crankshaft was an cb performance 82mm stroker( I went with this over a scat stroker crank because from what i read cb performance is forged as scat is casted. Im thinking forged is gonna be stronger), my pistons and piston rods were 90.5 AA performance, my 110 cam, lifters, were made by scat, my case was cut into for the first time. Must install case savers. Hondabond for the case and i used the permatex "right stuff" for just about everything else. Ill add another comment with all the details on the head and stuff. You know my biggest thing was reliability. As "simple" as vws are i dont want to be fixing it everytime i drive. This 2110cc setup according to what i researched online is a reliable daily driver scenerio.
The chevy rods are nice but i dont have anything to compare it to. I just went with it because the thought of something chevy in a vw was super cool to me at the time 😂
Smooth Criminal.... I say Ol chap I think you did a Marvelous Job....😎
Thank you for kind words!
Sweet engine, I love that you have a quiet exhaust, so much more suitable for a street car.
