Thanks for the full video! Not a dark roast fan. Strangely now that I am using a Nespresso that I received a year ago as a gift and a refillable pod. I am drinking coffee black and am finding a HUGE difference in flavours in the coffees I try. Still don’t have as fine a pallet as you I’m sure but am enjoying the coffee more! Great video
I love dark roasted espresso. If it tastes bitter...you didn't do it right. Got a wonderful southern-italian-style espresso in my grinder at the moment, incredible thick, sweet, syrup-ey and super-intense espresso. I don't like 3rd wave espresso, tastes like battery-acid to me. IMHO a dark roast is best when being crafted with a manual lever machine (I'm using the Flair Pro 2). Btw, I honestly disagree with what you say. Maybe you never had a great southern-italy style espresso. Because that's where its from, italy. Not Starbucks. And you need good coffee for a good dark-roasted espresso.

I agree dark roast just tastes bitter. It doesn’t have great flavor
