- I bought this slightly janked 997.2 GT3 RS with the intention of dialing it in. The next step in the process for me is to complete restore the underside, suspension, trim, etc. back to like-new condition using dry ice.

Matts face when seeing the exhaust results - priceless 👌
We almost said the same thing.
Before I found this channel I never knew I would find such joy in watching someone clean a car, well I guess this goes far beyond cleaning and into its own category of "dialing in". The level of attention to detail is just so high that I find myself going back through other vids and watching them whilst I'm doing anything during the day. Great work 👍🏾
Matt, this was absolutely INCREDIBLE. Please keep these videos coming. No one else is covering this kind of stuff… hoping I win the 997
That TIG Brush is insane
A TIG BRUSH!!! What the hell. This is a very expensive channel to watch and I love it!
Matt's goofy smile with that TIG brush was priceless
THANK YOU FOR TAKING CARE OF MY FUTURE CAR!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!! ❤
This is the future.
Thank you Matt for taking such good care of my new Porsche!
Crazy this info was free. And there’s a giveaway? Sold
Very well done video! Loved it. Watched the whole thing this stuff is fascinating honestly.
First video on RUclips that’s over an hour long I watched the whole thing.
I’m so into this. I would give the dry ice cleaning my all…
I remember when I first saw someone doing dry ice cleaning; I thought of you 👌! I’m glad to see you’re embracing this in the way you do everything 👏.
This process is awesome, super cool to learn about.
Hey, thanks for all these useful information's ! Currently trying to figure out a way to leave my corporate job to do something car related and you two guys have really help me understanding how these machines work. I really appreciate your passion
Great video. Watched the whole thing super interesting
So if you ever sandblasted before you could do this with the dry ice guy is teaching the basics is how I learned at the winery my first job was to clean up all the old wine barrels and we would sell them back to Constellation brands for promotions and if you ever worked with sandblast sand and clean wood surfaces up and even I would take a scale it’s almost 90% the same technique I’m really surprised, you have to constantly keep moving and also take into account of how far or how close you are from what you’re working on and where you’re stopping and starting very interesting Matt!
Great content Matt
Matty is going to buy a TIG cleaner. When he smiles like that, he's hooked.
Omg the tig brush was my favorite part lol!!! This was such a satisfying video to watch!
It’s like Michael Scott is teaching us how to use dry ice and it’s awesome 😂
I love this
As soon as Matt saw the tig brush in action he thought, “I need one”
WOW
Matt, Another expensive toy for you. Its the absolute perfect tool for you.
Beard looking good remember let it grow for 3 months before you do anything with it
I quit. It's gone.
@@ObsessedGarage hahahahah lasted longer than I thought 😆
Seriously considering starting a business in a few years out here in Hawaii for dry ice cleaning. Scratches my OCD itch, makes me money, serves a need. Just gotta finish my auto service career and then bam!
Porsche really need to start including the gun on the GT3 line if sold in more unit the cost would go significantly down.
To spend so much time and money on a part that is covered by the bumper 🤪
That's our Matt...
Boom!
I remember when he said that machine was 10 grand....and it decreased in price during times like this? Just shows how big dry ice cleaning is getting
Yep, volume production and euro/dollar exchange rate helped too!
I’m thinking of the old blendtec videos…”thats metal acid smoke…don’t breathe this!”
Are we going to see the big set up in action?
Yes, very soon!
@@ScottAles Scott, thanks for the reply. I know you have a larger portable unit coming I am talking about the large permanent unit in your shop.
I am getting ready now to buy the IC 030 Evo II, but how long should I wait before can get it?
Did the paint chip at 25:50 on the video? Just for the record, I love your machines. I want the IC 030. I guess I’m just curious about those kind of situations. I’m talking to possibly my future business partner about opening a dry ice blasting shop, is it better to only offer wheel wells and underbody, to avoid chipping paint?
There were no paint chips here. Damaging the paint is always a possible outcome without taking proper precautions. Modulating your speed and power will be your greatest assets in ensuring protection.
Probably just glare, good to hear.
Thanks for the reply. @@ObsessedGarage
Would love to get into this business. My only concern is that my area is too small to support it.
using tig brush , do you need disconnect car battery ?
I got a question what to get rid of assembly line markings
As I understand it a single hose smashes the ice particles as the are pushed down the tube prior to exiting at the nozzle? Losing volume of the particle before it hits the surface to be cleaned.
That is not a performance experience I have ever heard before. Would appreciate the technical source so I could review it.
The point of a single hose system is to increase the blasting performance. Which it certainly does. So saving dry ice particles ( if that truly happens and has been documented) but loosing performance would result in having to use more dry ice to actually clean the item you're shooting.
Simply put, if you lose X% of the dry ice for such a claim, but it takes X longer to clean, what have you gained?
In my experience in using a two hose system, I haven't ever noticed a net benefit.
More interesting is that ALL major dry ice blasting companies use a single hose system.
Let us know where this claim comes from. We're always chasing value!
Why would you want to remove the cozmoline (spelling?), wouldn’t that remove the protection it provides ?
Never mind… answered in another post.
Question does this take yellowing out of old computers for example ?
Not likely, but I will look around to find something to try it!
What's the compressor spec on the one that comes in the giveaway?
We will size it depending on needs of winner.
MURAD form Toronto 🇨🇦👋👌
Might want to get some advice on your pay-entry giveaway idea so you're sure it's not an illegal raffle.
I have an attorney that draws it all up, and we bond in the appropriate states. I know exactly how to do this.
Any concern about stripping factory coating off of engine? If you live in the north the salt on the roads could be of concern?
There is not factory coating on those parts. Older cars had "shipping wax" called cosmoline that was supposed to removed by dealers.
@@ObsessedGarage thanks for the reply! Great content!
The Tig Brush looks like a an acid electrolysis decarbonizer?
Phosphoric acid in your eyes will make your week...no?
When that GT3 is done I don't think Matt will want to let this one go...?
Man I would love to get this for the winery we got so much compressed air we got compressed air for days and then just up the road in the next town is Airgas and I wonder if we could swing a deal with them On dry ice?
And some say Matt doesn’t work on his own cars
I must have a real problem I’m watching some dude dry ice the underneath of his car…
Wait so he doesn’t recommend this for a full fledged business? Only as an additional service for an existing business?
It can be both. Most end up doing it full time or create a full time department.
@@ObsessedGarage the only way to learn more is $250/month on Patreon?
You guys are seriously cleaning parts that are not ever going to be seen. What is the reason
It has to be done. Can't explain it but here is a crude analogy. Do you wipe?
@@ScottAles 😂 Couldn’t have picked a more succinct/accurate of a statement to describe what the point is
I don't know man... Dry Ice is too slow.
This machine is priced at $10,900. If money is no concern, we have a more powerful machine at $25k that outperforms any machine currently available anywhere in the world at any price. We have good, @$6,900, better @$10,900, best @$25,000.
Between the dry ice system, compressor, lines, installation, 220v ac, etc. etc. etc. employees, cost of used parts, operating expenses ($20K +) you would have to sell a hell of a lot of used parts just to break even, no less actually make a profit! I'd say a pretty poor business plan UNLESS the machine was used ONLY as a secondary purpose to do this! I now you're trying to sell machinery but C'mon man!
Math must not be your thing. What is 10% of $20,000? I'll help you here, $2,000. Doesn't take much to make a great return on investment.
Love the content and the products but be careful ordering from these guys. they tried to charge me $150 shipping for $150 worth of buckets and dollies. Shameful. Can buy some products from amazon for free shipping. Please figure out how to provide products without killing customers with shipping. I also checked to see what just 3 6 gallon buckets would be. shipping was $140 - how???
