Those of us who love obsessed level detailing feel so inadequate now LOL. This is phenomenal!
@@tonymontana897 just work hard if you want this service done it’s only a couple grand I’m sure you will be able to afford it one day
@@AZDESERT2024 First of all I am simply making a point... I guess you are unfamiliar with the concept of restoring other peoples cars for payment or purchasing an under loved car and restoring it to it former glory for your own enjoyment? I just bought an E46 to do that very thing...
This guy could make a 2 hr video on how to sharpen a pencil
Is that a challenge... 😂
And I'd watch it!
Absolutely!! I bet he was that kid at school that took forever to tie his shoe laces and missed most of recess!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

This guy is a pro on camera. Pretty sure he’s Matt’s long lost brother.
Yep somehow related
But you said he’s a pro on camera
@@Stephen-re4oy hilarious
Hahaha
You're gonna have to edit this down to a 36 hour miniseries
LMAO!!
Every detailer worth their salt knows how to properly machine polish and seal/or ceramic coat a car. This is cutting edge new to the collector car/exotic world. Scott Ales and Obsessed Garage get a big thumbs up for this comprehensive introduction to this cutting edge technology. Applications are limitless !!!
This guy really knows his stuff. Great content.
This guy is an absolute master at making scooping ice into a machine and spraying it on stuff seem on par with brain surgery.
Ever done brain surgery? It's more mundane than you think 🙃
Dry ice cleaning is definitely the future and Matt’s getting in early
Future of what? It's an insanely expensive and niche process that having maybe 5 people in the entire country who offer it is enough to cover the demand.
@@seanbond1008 I think you underestimate the business of auto restoration and preservation
Lot's of people don't know this practice that can be used in each industry. It exists +5 years already but their's more potential. I'm actually interested in doing it but important is to do a lot of marketing and finding the demand is critical.
@@gillesLegein I believe Matt’s whole RUclips channel and site would be a great target audience for this work. Also, Tommyfyeah will be a great advertiser in the future with all of his restoration focused videos.
@@seanbond1008 I agree. Everything that he is doing can be done at home by yourself for a fraction of the cost, even the underside and get just as clean. I’m not understanding this dry ice fad.
Dr. Dry Ice takes 1 hour to clean strut, brake assembly and suspension parts....Matt buys all new suspension, new brakes and struts!!! Classic Matt!!
But then you wouldn't know what is possible... just trying to encourage and educate anyone who is interested.
@@ScottAles 100%, and we appreciate it! Love the vids so far.
That’s oil Pan was satisfying to watch
The aluminum oil pan was one of the most satisfying things I’ve watched!
I can't stop watching. I'm so happy you exist and decided to record/share this. Please keep the content coming. My brain is so happy.
Dry ice cleaning looks to be the be-all end-all, super wonder magic cleaning method. Turning 60 years old cars back to factory fresh state in minutes
This is cleaning on another level, just amazing.
I feel like Matts going adopt Scott.
This process is so amazing. Incredibly satisfying to watch.
This is INSANE!!! I wish I had one of these machines for my E36 LTW Clone build... That Front Subframe and Control Arm look amazing! Bravo!
People ask me what I do in my free time.. and it’s really hard to explain that I spent an hour watching a guy blast dry ice at a car to clean it, but more importantly big shout out to Matt - he could easily be like every other RUclipsr caught up in who has the newest and flashiest car... but rather you can tell Matt is a true car guy..
Matt, if you’re read this, thank you for living out all of our dreams, documenting it, and doing everything the right way and most importantly thank you for not buying a Ferrari and buying all of our true hero’s and giving them the love we all wish we could.
I’ve been a subscriber since the rat ate the wiring harness out of the sapphire GT3, OG has been a lifeline I never knew I’d identify with so much.
Waiting for the day you pick up an s54 z3m coupe and a Zanardi NSX
So satisfying, like watching late night pressure cleaning videos on RUclips
Wow. this is insane. never seen something like this ever. makes everything look brand new! great job!
This is definitely content for the “obsessed” keep these coming
This is definitely OG spec treatment.
One of the most satisfying things I’ve ever seen. I would love to do this for a job!
Thanks Matt for bringing Scott to your channel. Great content! Can’t wait for the next installment.
Incredible series and very well produced video to show the process. Haven’t seen it explained and shown like this before great job Scott and team!
Equal content to the wet sanding series with the kxk boys. Thanks Matt you rock.
So satisfying watching this, never heard of this until now finding it super interesting
Amazing detail showing this to us. Thanks. I realize there's fixed time and time is money but when I do under cleaning w/ pressure washer, steamer & manual labor I remove the the plastic wheel liners and just replace the liners, sensor housings and all hardware w/ new parts... there's a whole lot of dirty areas underneath those wheel liners. This process really shines cleaning the metal parts in hard to reach areas.. the engine, transmission, cats, heat shielding etc...
Hi my name is Luis and I am addicted to OG ! This dry ice is amazing 😱😍 it left that oil pan like its was never under a car 💪🏼
I could watch this all day. Love his attitude
Really enjoying this series. Scott is great to watch, explains everything very well and clearly knows his stuff.
So awesome to see how fast Dryce cleans everything!
Wow that was so satisfying to watch
Looking forward to what Matt and Scott have cooking for us!
Also thank you for taking the time to put this together, especially since most of these parts will be replaced and/or would be more cost effective to replace anyway since this is such an expensive process.
I’ve been following dry ice cleaning for the past year, and I am NEVER not mystified when I watch it being done. I need to have it done to my p cars asap
This is a fascinating process! Would love to do this for a living! Very much like pressure washing, only with a different medium. Great video!
Looks brand new in the end! Awesome work 🔥
Scott's the man! Very interested in this series and potential for more automotive applications of dry ice cleaning. I live outside Philadelphia and with a quick internet search I found zero automotive cleaners in the area, only industrial.
By the time he finishes cleaning that car Matt will already have 2 more in his driveway.
Ospho - thanks for the tip! Have used similar products, but I suspect that this guy knows his stuff and knows this is one of the better choices in that category of product.
This is awesome and he is a natural for this type of channel. I want Matt to come up with a steam cleaning approach like with the pressure washers.
This is the next level !
The stream of ice smoother than I've seen on other videos where it's belching. This guy has invested in the goods. 👌
Yes. I wanna do this to my 97 accord.
Hey Matt this is awesome, like media blasting with much more control and without the mess Who knew Bryce’s father was so talented......
Next level cleaning, makes any other process seem half assed!
I need to get into this for sure
My OCD approves this.
I was wondering when Matt was going to try dry ice cleaning, as I thought it would be right up his alley 👌!
I feel like getting my undercarriage super dirty so this guy can clean it and explain it. Quite a chassis detailing savant. Matt, hook this guy up with some A/C in his garage.
How long before they set up a distributor with OG. This is an excellent complement.
Matt said in the Isle of Man green M3 decon livestream that they’re collaborating to bring a solution to market. A solution with the target of being a cheaper smaller system.
@@pumba4963 This is true...
@@pumba4963 Selling such dry ice system or providing this quality service for clients? I'm thinking that it's important that a professional does this job and not a normal person doing it in a DIY manner
@@gillesLegein Matt said he’s working to bring a solution for a DIY set up for enthusiasts to use. I do agree with you that someone who knows what they’re doing should probably to do it, or at least they should be teaching/supervising a novice.
Wow amazing💯
That sump was really satisfying, I’m nursing a semi right now.
The oil pan came out better and cleaner than Hydroblasting and there is no glass media involved.
I’m ready for the next video!
Your system is really cool🌨️😎
cleaning on another lvl
I love this man !!
Dry ice dude is rad
This process seems to be the perfect solution to restoring oxidized under-hood components which have not been subjected to much grease, oil, or to Cosmoline treatment. I'd love to see the results on something like an alternator housing.
We had a similar issue but with sand and the paper bags that held the sand because it would get in the machine and clog it up how funny it’s pretty much the same thing but using dry ice Matt. Now that I’m thinking about it I wonder how dry ice would work on barrels!
Strong Kevin Nealon vibes. Uniquely addicting. This is like watching a reverse time lapse of the car getting dirty from day 1.
love this guy
I’ve spent the past 3 ish hours learning about dry ice cleaning and I’m stoked on it 😂
The potential in this for restoration is amazing, it’s absolutely crazy the difference it makes
@@DaltonBalkwill If you decide to enter the space we're here for you. Consulting, training, advisory.
I’d have such a.d.d. doing this. I’d be cleaning something and then see another part that would get me excited to clean and jump over there
Great video. Incredible transformation. My only concern would be... Where does all that dirt, grease etc.. go? If it "evaporates" with the dry ice, I would consider more appropriate protection googles, masks with proper sealing.
If I owned something like a Bugatti or McLaren F1, that's how I'd clean it.
I wonder if a liner could be made out of fabric like some sort of coated canvas or Teflon or something like that so that it's really strong and won't crack with the extremely low drop in temperature and it won't like tear or maybe just a hard liner made out of vulcanized rubber maybe? Oooh maybe you could have it in like a big container that's above your head where are you can open a hatch and it would just drop straight through so you don't have to dig anything into it to get the ice out. I don't know just a thought.
Impressive when he got underneath! No sure about the plastic arch liner though...made it grey and it took ages. They aren't exactly that hard to manually clean and dress.
This is true. We'll be shooting some footage of where the dry ice system isn't always the answer!
Feels like I tuned into an episode of Breaking Bad with Walter White
Scott is going on my laminated list.
Serious question, why not just use a pressure washer? The specific environment, cost, storage and set up required just to even start using dry ice seems to vastly out weigh the results. Don't get me wrong, the results are great but I personally don't think it's that far off a basic pressure washer.
It's just seems unnecessary in my opinion, kind of like trying to find a solution to an issue that was never present.
99.9% of people will use a pressure washer. This is an insanely expensive and overly complicated method and there's no need for $100,000+ worth of equipment to do what a pressure washer and $200 worth of labor with a sponge can accomplish.
Okay cool, the machine removed a sticker off the wheel a few seconds faster than can be accomplished by hand. Worth 120k? Nah.
I’m dying to see final product
Matt moreman when are you getting the kranzle pressure washers I’ve been waiting a long time
Awesome
The gun almost needs some kind “surface cleaner” type of apparatus that spins to create a uniform cleaning. And the rotation could also help with the sublating? Amazing content !!
We've experimented with that but the ultra cold temperatures prevent this from working. Thanks though!
I tried to make a dry ice cleaning machine from a sandblaster setup. But I used a tall cylinder that used to hold beer. And added a motor to vibrate the ice to keep it from sticking . And we'll it barley worked . So I'm trying other ideas . Had to crush my own block of dry ice also. Iv been making different ones for the last 6 months . And I guess I'll just have to buy one.
I need a part 3 soon
Can the camera ISO be adjusted on the fly so we can see more detail on the dark areas?
When are you guys getting the kranzle pressure washers
Maybe it would be a good idea to wear a quality dust mask, because it is basically freezing off filth, and making it airborne.. pretty sure oil and brake dust isn’t good for the lungs but I could be wrong.. it’s looking awesome! Can’t wait for the dry ice engine bay blasting
I like it. You can clean my van any day. Where are you?
This is a great series!! What is the price of a dry ice blaster machine, and do they have compact mobil units? This would be awesome for mobile detailing. Thanks again
The machine I am using is $45k setup this way. Compressed air system to support it is another $30k+.
I'm not a fan of the mobile concept but some are. Can't control your environment and it is loud.
@obsessed garage Is Scott not concerned about inhaling the oils/debris he removes?
At the speed this guy works it should be done by Memorial Day
I’m prepared to spend a lot of money on one of these things 😅
Scott is going through a 12 step program. 3 days of acute wheel well syndrome.
Right where I like to be... worse than some, better than others!
Sales of Aerocreepers just spiked
Did matt take out the wheel arch liners ?
I’d love to have a dry ice cleaning cabinet for smaller parts.
Interesting to see the hand methods combined with the blasting. Is there any recommendation to perform traditional cleaning methods prior to the blasting services?Maybe get a majority of the heavy stuff off with a pressure washer or by hand and then finish with blasting?
I did that originally back in 2019. But after getting soaked and spending so much time cleaning up after that, this method became much easier. The principle is to remove all abrasive elements from the car before starting any hand work. One small rock or piece of sand can be very problematic.
Thanks for the comment!
@@ScottAles Thanks Scott. So kind of sounds like a waste of effort getting too deep into the hand work when the blasting is more efficient.
I wonder if there’s a better option than the plastic bag to store the ice? Seems very prone to ripping.
Incredible video; I would be worried about breathing in brake dust and other coatings. Mesothelioma is unforgiving.
This guy is gonna boom after all of this
This is not about me getting work or jobs to clean. I've been backlogged since I started in June 2019. It's about education for those who are considering to have their vehicle cleaned and the persons considering to enter the business. To date, we've set up 20 people in some way or another.
* Sold them equipment
* Consulted for them on setup
* Trained their techs
* Have a Patreon for ongoing support
Matt and I are also working on multiple solutions to come in the future.
@@ScottAles I wasn’t being negative at all. You’re like minded like Matt and Tommy. Most of America doesn’t even know dry ice blasting was a thing (not even I). I always wish entrepreneurs success. I’m sorry if it came off negative.
@@ryanboytim896 OH my, not at all Ryan. You are spot on. Email, phone, text, and people even stopping by the shop! I am transitioning to consult, advise, train, and educate. Too old to do the work day in and day out. Plus, I want to discover more methods to better the craft. For everyone's benefit!
Dumb question but let's say the car had been running for a while and the oil pan was hot. Would shooting the pan with the dry ice cause any issues with the metal going from hot to extreme cold.
Maybe? Not sure, we've never done that so I can't say either way.
so does it work like sandblasting? while also having the contraction effect of cooling something down to help break it off? it does seem like a very clean process. this is the first time im seeing this in action
Episode #1 can provide you more details. The fundamentals are this...
* 108 degrees negative causes things to contract and loose their adhesion.
* The solid CO2 particle sublimates to a gas upon impact which is a thermal reaction or, a miniature explosion. It is not abrasion that removes the dirt like using sand or any media.
* The high volume of air ( up to 125 cfm) wisks the dirt away.
Yes, the dirt ultimately is atomized then gravity takes it to ANY horizontal surface nearby. But mostly, the ground.
@@ScottAles I should have watched the first episode first definitely lol but thank you for the in depth response! I can see this technology taking off for sure!
My favorite new guy is back. Sorry Matty you have been replaced....

So what is the going range per hour a person would expect pay for someone that is experienced in doing this work?
