"If we grew up here, I'd never be home"
SO PERFECTLY TRUE!!!
I’ve been watching the channel for a while now , got hooked during the Fred build. I will never have such a nice facility, and I’m not generally obsessed with minutia of toolbox layout etc ..however I still watch all the videos religiously. Today, it all paid off - Mike solved the problem I encountered last week while trying to mount a 48” tv to use with computer. 16” on center studs , I couldn’t get it centered where I wanted . Cutting away the drywall and using 3/4” inset is genius !
Nice!
Nice install Mike F. Like the idea of insetting the wood.
Glad you mentioned becoming a dealer for collomix before I ordered. I will wait on you so please let us know when you get them in the store. Thank you for doing the heavy lifting for those of us who don’t have the time to research and test.
Always enjoy these buildout videos, Matt & team. Exposes me to a ton of brands and DIY techniques I'd otherwise never see. Appreciate it!
Love the sound of that stud finder dragging across the dry wall… like nails on a chalkboard. THANKS MIKE.
That’s best stud finder on the market. Beats all the electronic ones lol
Would love to see the installation process of the DMF linears I have a laundry room and closets that could use some better lighting, I need the Mike F. tips
I believe you will enjoy the Speed Queeen gas vs electric. Both great products but I’m partial to gas dryers.
The new Martin Logan design and fit and finish looks fantastic! I think they would be a great brand choice for Obsessed Theatre. The subs look great!
I’m actually waiting for my 65 inch G3 to get delivered. Upgrades are always exciting
Toggler SnapToggles is what you needed. Mounted hundreds of TVs in drywall alone with those. And if you could have used two in one of those metals studs to keep it centered like you wanted. 👌🏼
Maybe with an LCD, but not this.
@@ObsessedGarage Perhaps not, but I’m also referring to plasmas. I just dated myself, I know. 😂 I think you’d be surprised in the SnapToggles strength and like I said, especially with a use in a steel stud. Either way, clean install with the flush plywood, as well. 👍🏼
I do the same thing with scissors as you do Matt. I thought I was the only one, haha.
Title should read: “Bachelor Hangs Up TV In New Bachelor Pad”
Matty Crocker in the house!
Did he say $19,000 for the lighting?
$590 for just the salt and pepper grinder...... lost touch with reality.
I have to hire an electrician to add a bunch of lights. That was $10,000 in labor. $8900 in light fixtures.
I have an electrician who works on my properties. He would do the lights for 2-3k.
Decent choice in knifes. Still need to toss the Howard Light hearing protection. Matt secretly being a gun guy ;)
Yeah because of him most of my knifes are Yaxel now. But I would never put them in the drawer! Knifes like that need to be visible
@@MrXyemoe Yes chef. I was referring to spyderco. 😁
I am shocked that Mike didn't go overkill and but in nut-zert rivets and bolt the board to the stud...LMAO!
That is some fancy salt Matt...I would just get that Utah deep mine pure salt.
I think that was Steve that hung the pictures
Love the doggie.
That must have been Steve that flubbed those picture hanging measurements, not Mike.
Where im from the standard wall buildup is one layer of OSB and one layer of gypsum/drywall. It makes mounting stuff to the wall an absolute breeze
appreciate the content
Aviation world it is called a Counter sink screw..flat head is a “slotted” screw..
For $600,000, I would have just sent the kids away to an elite private school and skipped all this work.
I like doing this.
That would be a horrible video
You have to remember he makes This content to build his company and socials. For the average person this would be a stretch to own two homes that they live in 30 min away from each other.
You call it work some of us call it fun!
Any update on the HVAC sweating issue?
Not yet
Toggle bolts work and if you’re worried go through the metal studs with the toggle bolts
You people are nuts. You sure could toggle into drywall, but your 83" OLED is 90 pounds and will end up on the floor.
@@ObsessedGarage toggle through the metal studs. I can hang off the brackets I’ve installed.
You can toggle into the metal studs if your bracket is large enough. Studs were 24" on center and bracket was only 16" wide. Never toggle into dry wall of any TV.
Enjoying this series. Question, that living table, may I get details on it?
It is a custom one off I got from Scott's Antique market in Atlanta.
Make sure you knock on the door before you go inside Micheles house!
blown away that they use steel studs in a residential home. Must be a location thing.
It's really common in FL.
Am I the only one who washes all the kitchen stuff before putting it away?
It looks like there is Ethernet wired going to a covered up box next to the outlet at 30:10
a lot of haters in the comments, I rarely comment but throughly enjoy these videos. Keep it up Matt
Thanks man!
Everything I've heard about matte finish OLEDs is they don't produce blacks and contrast (the whole point of an OLED) as well as glossy. I too have an 83 LG G3 and it's why I waited until this year to do an OLED computer monitor because all the early OLED monitors were matte finish and we just started getting glossy.
I've been using an LG27GR95QE-B as my main monitor for a year now and LG's "matte" finish on it is nothing like the typical matte finishes I've had on other monitors in the past. Colors aren't muted and the way it diffuses light is great.
Matt…Why didn’t you use Toggler SNAPTOGGLE Heavy Duty Toggles to mount the tv I’ve used those on walls where I couldn’t find the studs they’re the best to mount the tv perfect
No guessing .
i think they did the right thing using wood over relying on drywall to hold the weight. i use drywall anchor to hold my tv though too and not had issues (mines only 65 inch tho)
You can't toggle bolt drywall safely with a 100lb. display.
Curious what brand the drywall surround and cover for cables to neatly come out of the wall ?
Mike I am looking at getting a 350, is it worth going to the 4.30 or 3.73 good enough for a fifth wheel.
Im glad matt enjoys this stuff and can afford it. But i am not sure id be that much happier at his income level 😂 but i supoose it would be nice to vuy whatever car i wanted. Thats cool
LG OLED blows the rest away. Been through them all
I am admittedly out of the loop - what would that new office space be for? Is there an issue with the new OGHQ reno?
I am building a local design center.
🇬🇧-11pm OG video check in!
How about a TCL 115” in the upstairs theater room?
That display is unwatchably bad to me.
Steve's Arts & Crafts ... 😂
Did you run the power cord for the TV in the wall, is that allowed in Florida?
Yes, I never understood why that would matter. The air is the same in a hollow call cavity as it in the room.
I’m curious as to why they didn’t prewire for network and audio during construction.
Pretty sure the builders wouldn’t accommodate that since it’s a cookie cutter.
Yeah... cookie cutter house. No custom choices are offered.
Why run the 115v tv power cord for the tv in the wall when there's an outlet directly behind the tv?
If you want flush mount, you can't use that outlet without a clock plug. Plus I'll have a Furman line conditioner/surge protector that I want to plug into.
I feel like the TV is low, the kitchen is a walking around standing up room.
👍
Can you please measure from the floor to the bottom of the TV and let me know how many inches ? Thanks in advance
It was at 32".
Hey Matt i been trying to send an email with no success, asking for Michell house item that u said on vlog 2 , for a strange reason said that message can’t be send.
matt@obsessedgarage.com
TV should be 1/3rd up from the bottom to your eye (not center).
No
Wasn't a question
@@NathanSweet 😂😂😂
@@NathanSweet But you go your answer 😂
@@ChipsNeeson Nope, I tried to help. Doesn't matter to me since I won't be watching this TV, my comments is mostly for others who mistake 50% for the right position. Go read avsforum to double check.
I have underwear older than you, eff LG OLED TVs, bought one a few years ago and ended up throwing it in the garbage as it ended up cracked despite being very careful with installing it and it could not be returned, bought a Vizio instead…
@@esiebert7625 you must be a troll or just plain stupid
Maybe you should buy some new underwear.
Being old doesn’t make you smart.
@ObsessedGarage it makes me wise, I'll never buy over priced expensive TVs again, not worth wasting money that I really won't notice the picture quality being much better. There is almost no cable network content in 4K anyway.
What stud finder does Mike use?
Stud buddy
Is Michele your second wife ?
LG
Baha gold sounds like weed
Samsung TV is the only way to go.
Why do other companies make them?
They've gone downhill in quality unfortunately.
No
1980’s lifestyle, lol. You mean before cell phones and social media.
No, that would be terrible. I'm talking about the running the neighborhood with their friends.
LG sucks they don't stand behind their products my tv wasn't two years old wouldn't do anything for me told me tough shit basically
Displays have a pretty standard 1 year warranty. When it's out of warranty, and it breaks, you buy a new one. That's how the world works.
@@ObsessedGarage Thankfully, we here in Australia have decent consumer protections. An item needs to work for a "reasonable amount of time" and for TV's, it's usually 5 years. If you're refused warranty, you contact the dept. of fair trading and they go in to bat for you.
@@ObsessedGarage lg is still garbage bro 🙃
@@ObsessedGarageeven better 5 year warranty on the LG OLED Panels
