Unfortunately due to previous horrible stupid life decisions, I'm forced to start with a zero balance in my savings account. On the bright side, the huge amount of debt - consequence of those bad decisions will be payed off next month,It's never too late to start saving like there's no tomorrow, and I'm really REALLY excited and motivated. Impressive video. I started a bit late (graduated from my doctorate program at age 30 in 2016 with 170k in school loan debt). Managed to pay off my debt by 2019 and currently have a house and 250k total in investments (combo of profit share, 401k and a brokerage account). I'm not very knowledgeable in investing, so I just have my investing currently in index funds mainly voo, but have been putting a lot into schd the past few months. I dunno if that's the optimal strategy, but psychologically it is very set it and forget it, and prevents me from obsessing over individual stock performance.
I’m thinking of doing the same but not sure if I should use different brokerage accounts? Just Curious. Pros and cons ?
@@stellaadams593 Instead of using different brokerage accounts to purchase index funds or individual stock, compare your age(s) and how much time you have estimated till retirement, you can also opt to consulting/working with a fund manager/advisor for an “optimal strategy” to outperform the bear market.

Credit score is not something used in all countries though. In France, they determine if you are eligible to get a loan (e.g., to buy a house) based on the ratio between your salary, your expenses and your savings. Basically, if every month you 'burn' all your money, you're perceived as riskier than someone earning less but consistently making deposits to a saving account. I feel in the US people tend to buy things they don't need with money they don't have... The only times I feel one should need a credit is when buying 'big' things (house, car, etc.). Not for a TV. I’m 26 with over 800 credit score, time was put into that to build it up by MysticFlip

Yea Navy federal gave me a really high limit. I applied and was denied at first so I got a MysticFlip , and I was approved for a capital one. The limit was so small lol but I took it and worked on it. Because if that it helped my credit and I believe that’s what made me finally get approved for navy fed with such a high limit. they're still working on increasing the capital one since it was so low. All in all I’m satisfied.

I dunno… I was one of those people that didn’t care about a credit score, didn’t get any education about how important your credit score is, and I racked up debt like an idiot. I worked really hard and educated myself and I’ve brought my credit score from 480 to 732 and I’m still going up with VermontCorpLTD . I feel like the government blaming credit reporting companies instead of the lack of financial education in their own public education system is foolish.

I also grew up in Romania but it taught me a valuable lesson- the value of money and not to take things for granted. Yes we also had to cook on camping cookers in the flat...
And yes, I did become a surgeon:) Switched to interventional radiology along the way :) Romania did teach me humility and hard work.

I told my children when younger never to put me in the position of asking for something you know won't happen as you will be perpetuating the cycle of saying I can't afford it. To their credit they didn't and we were able to move forward breaking this what I call a spiritual attack around money. Pray to remove any unseen spiritual attacks around money , money curses they really do exist. I am no longer haunted.

Really inspiring story Sebastian. You're a true motivation. I'm currently doing dropshipping and earning a decent income while marketing my products solely on TikTok. What I discovered in the process is if I boost my videos a little (with Famester or some other tool), my videos get pushed by the algorithm and reach way more people. That of course reflects on my sales. I hope someone will find this helpful, just like I find Sebastian's videos helpful.
