  • Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park is the largest state park in Florida, at almost 85,000 acres. It is the orchid capital of Florida, with almost 50 species of native orchids, which many are considered rare or endangered. This video highlights the new visitor's pavilion and boardwalk at Big Bend.

    Thank you Jay for the informative history of the magnificent Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve, it’s one of the great treasures of SW Florida. Your documentary shows the many ways the large Strand area could have been used, so thankful that it has been preserved for the Florida wildlife to have a safe area to prosper and also for many visitors to get a chance to experience the thrill of seeing them. The videos of the wildlife that you have shared on your site are fantastic, I hope we will see more of them soon. Again, thank you for sharing your passion for the Fakahatchee Strand Stare Park.
