- I am a Conservation photographer based in south Florida. I use my images of wildlife to bring awareness to the plight of our endangered Florida panthers and other wildlife that make south Florida swamps their home. Almost 1,000 people a day move to Florida. Development is quickly spreading out into these remote areas.
This is a short overview of DSLR camera trapping in remote areas of south Florida. While my target is endangered Florida panthers, I capture images of bears, bobcats, fox, deer, and even the ultra rare Everglades mink. I use a custom DSLR camera trap system to capture quality images of wildlife in their natural surroundings.
Oh my goodness Jay, you are placing a Canon camera in a box in the swamp! 😳. No way could I put my R5 in a box in the weather not to mention that the outdoor cameras are bear toys. I see how your videos are so wonderful! I imagine your great family photos provide the funds for your true passion, wildlife in the Fakahatchee. I can relate to the passion you have with the critters in the Fakahatchee, I love everyday living in the Fakahatchee, it’s a continuous thrill everyday. I love your work, especially the wildlife videos. Thank you for sharing the wonderful sights you capture, I’m sure you have endeared many people to the wonders of our fabulous wildlife. Thank you for your efforts, we all appreciate it.

What would make you even think that a panther would jump up on some random log in the swamp. Great shot!
Super shots, thanks!
Perfect log, Great photos!
Great stuff…. Awesome location
Amazing work.
Some great results and a great set up. Keep up the good work. 👍
I'd invest in a pair of Waders...awesome work you are doing! Blessings...
Actually you do not wear waders in there as you could trip and get full of water and you aren't getting up. I toured in a similar area with a biologist in the Fakahatchee and you were forbidden from wearing them.
Love it Jay. Running into you this past summer in the Fak was a highlight of that trip. Looking forward to the doc you're apart of
P.s. I think I MAY know that log, got me Jones'n to go back there.
Terrific work!
Long live the Panther!
