Definitely a sight to see. I think the four packs is terrible, but they did load the power cards into most of them. I think the biggest gamble is a single pack where you could get two mimeoplasms and other under $3.00 foil rares. I believe at the crazy high price $75-$100 pack should have 8-10 rare/mythics.
all of you make the mistake to think more in quantative terms than in qualititive. If you can hit $50 cards easily in a 4 R/M pack, which sense would it make to double the amount of R/M? You would pay $160-200 then. The price adjusts based on the EV. Which you could easily see over the last couple of weeks regarding this set.
@@muhlor That belief feeds into this set should only drive prices up and not down. I've seen posts that this set isn't for players, kids, or new to magic people. @@rgeraldc80s you want it to be a set for everyone by simply throwing double the amount of R/M at players who buy the product? Does not make much sense to me.
@@muhlor No I want prices that make more sense. 7.99 a pack draft with the 2 rares (they could make it harder or no borderless in draft), and Collector Boosters should either have more rares, be priced lower, have more borderless, or at the very least 6 packs a box not 4. The Professor has said all of this stuff before and I agree.
@@rgeraldc80s at current Box prices, most ppl pull the card value they paid for regarding collectors boxes. Doubling the rares makes sense how if you consider this calculation???

I was watching this with my young daughter half asleep in my lap, and she started singing along with the song at about 23:00. She alo really likes the channel theme.
Look man, I know these are "bad value" and "lottery tickets"... but opening these and seeing the big hits come through is just fun.
I really expected the Instructor to do this video, especially since that beard is just asking to be shaved to the Instructor's goatee.
Dunno how you can say it's bad value when the numbers are right there. Avg. Box here was 281.50, over the current retail and way over pre-order prices. I get that the variance is high, anyone cracking less than 4 boxes is hanging it out there.
God damn Prof looking all blinged out in the killer suit. Like he came out of the collectors box.
The '5 bucks' segment was comedy gold. Great job Professor!
thought it was hilarious too.
Prof laughing maniacally at how expensive collector booster's are gives me Sean Connery laughing at Trebek in Celebrity Jeopardy SNL vibes.
I love the Prof and Postie playmat! I'd love one tbh!
what saved the 1st box was the imperial seal. Without that, the game would have ended really fast. Also those 1st packs in each box are really OP
Wow, some of those borderless cards look REALLY nice. I'm gonna have to go buy some singles.
Thumbs up for the "it's five bucks!"
You narrated my inner thoughts as they happened 🤣
That was my favourite part!
Oh man I'm so glad you did this game, been wanting it more than any other collector box!
I fully expected this to be a one box and done with the rest of the video being the Professor reading from a favorite book of his.
I don't even play magic really, but been subbed for years. the professor is so calming and his videos been helping me lots recently so i just became a $15 patron. As i will cherish a signed card from him and get my name in the credits I'm writing this because i want the professor to see how many people his videos keep entertaining for those wondering the only magic cards i have are a couple of structure plain walker decks i won from a competition a couple of years ago. Anyway keep up the good work Prof.
Edit: i just noticed for some reason it unsubscribed me from the channel must be why i never got notifications from the channel on time..RUclips can be strange sometimes
I've watched a few of these collector's box unopenings...anyone else notice there's a LOT of repeat cards?
That five short box is hilarious cause that first pack in it was just short of two packs worth needed to advance and those other three just bombed that hard, lol...
Your Seasoned Pyromancer at 5:00 was miscut as well. It hat the alignment dot at the top right. Might have gotten some extra cash from misprint group if still available
One would think that the Prof. would run out of jokes due to repetition - but he makes them work again and again.
Professor: Makes this intro about how bad the Collector's Booster Box is.
Professor: buys multiple boxes.
YOU REALLY GOT EM, PROF!
As always, I watched until that “dance, dance, dance” track came on and then it’s on to something else.
I love he checks the box like, "Ope, almost forgot one there" 🤣
I love the cardboard packaging instead of the plastic
Chaos Warp in box 2 pack 3 is also a slight mis-cut with the card shifted to the right, You can see where the black curve on the left stops on the printer outside the standard cut
I think it's adorable that prof has a playmat of him and Posty.
At close to 100$ per pack .... there is no excuse that there are duplicate full art cards in one box
Professor giving in to the Instructor is a great moment.
Elenda, the dusk forehead. That miscut is hilarious
So this set is then only aimed at nostalgia people and old guys with extra money to spend. I guess I fall into that category, but desired for this set to be for everyone and have two tiers, the haves (collector) and the have nots (draft). I'm wanting it to be something it isn't and I can absorb that, but still complain to anyone reading and agreeing or disagreeing.
Watching you crack 4 boxes, it showed me just how lucky I was to get 2 textured foils between 3 boxes and a handful of packs. Its what paid for almost 2 full Commander Decks I wanted.
What do think about the foil etched from double masters? For me is the best they have done until now. I really like them!
I loved that ending, the prof trying to get another box.
I like how even the prof had to admit how addicting this was... 🤣🤣🤣
I don't care about the price of the box, as long as the cards I want go down in price! and ooooh what beautiful art style have they chosen for this set. Love it
12:25 I know that artist!
Moz’ work looks great on a mat.
I never hated the fact that Prof made it past the first "box" more than now... The fact that "box" is "worth" tat much money is a bubble ready to burst (I hope) tomorrow (I hope).
you must be new to magic, lol.
Forget paying the 1, Prof went ahead and paid the 5! Loved it. Great playmat of you and Post btw! 🤘
Prof is missing out on the new sealed format. "High Rollers Sealed" where each player opens a collectors box of double masters from the case and constructs a deck from it to play sealed.
This is the first set where the collector boosters boxes is cheaper than the draft booster box.
I look forward to the day Prof chooses to troll us all in a booster box game video by just wiggling around a useless foil from a failing pack for 45 minutes.
Love the art on Allosaurus Shepard
The Prof: “My Pringle Sense is tingling!”
The fact that the first box was able to just barely scrape by enough value for another box, even with arguably the best pull out of this set, just tells you how little those packs are worth
Omg this is getting so funny. Your frustration is a wonderful thing
