    Hey Rob, you made it look so easy. Great job going 5 for 5 with the Automatic Spring Rod holder. That Corn Yellow Powerbait is one of my favorites and it was killing it for you. The school of trout must have had a meeting and voted Corn Yellow as bait of the day! LOL!

    Hey brother,
    I commented about a week ago and you gave me some good advice regarding mammoth lakes. This time I'm asking about advice about 11 mph to 15 mph winds at mammoth lakes. Very much appreciate it on your advice. Leave Mon the 24th.
    Thank you, sir...

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors
      @SeaSpankerOutdoors  Год назад +1

      Wind is not always a bad thing. It just depends on where the fish are in relation to the wind. Depending on the lake and conditions present I alway try to position myself with the wind at my back. If that’s possible your good to go. Usually thats not possible so then you need to change techniques; heavier jigs, spoons/spinners, dropshot, bait and weight, weighted rattle bobbers, etc. Use techniques that are easy to cast in the wind. If you can get your presentation to the fish they dont care how windy it is.

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors

      Thanks John. Gregory is a public lake but it does cost to fish there. I believe its $10 and is pretty good deal for the fish they put in there. The lake has a really diverse bottom. Smooth sandy areas, submerged trees, rocks, underwater peaks and valleys.

      I see them all over Amazon. I was hesitant at first buying them but after seeing his videos and results decided to buy a pair. Plus I get tired of having to always look closely at the rod for bites, missing fish not getting to it on time and setting the hook, and not a fan of clipping bells because everyone has bells and constantly looking at the rods when I hear others jingle the bells etc 😂

    Awesome video brotha 🤘 I’ve noticed between your videos and GSF videos that y’all are always in waders when fishing at Gregory. Is there a reason why? Keep up the great content 💪

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors
      @SeaSpankerOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Zak. I wear waders at Gregory for a couple reasons. First, there are alot of trees that overhang the bank making it impossible to cast at alot of spots if your standing on shore. With the waders I can wade out past the overhang and make my casts. Second, when fishing mini jigs being able to walk out in the water a few steps can be a great advantage. Getting your jig a few more feet out there can make a huge difference at times.

      Try using 2 of them and squeezing them with plyer. It also depends on the weight of the sinker

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors
      @SeaSpankerOutdoors  2 года назад +3

      It could be that your weight is to heavy. I normally use a 1/4oz egg sinker and they work fine. If I use a 1/2oz sinker I have to use two keepers or it slides down when I cast.

      Honestly I was probably referring to the end of the local SoCal trout season. You can catch trout year round here just during the summer your options are reduced. The sierras is an excellent place to chase trout in the summer. Locally you’ll find me at either Big Bear, Green Valley, or Gregory if I’m hunting trout 🤘
