Disclaimer: I don't currently sell blankets. This is a series I did doing the research process and reviewing other stores that are doing $10,000+ per month in revenue. I sell different print-on-demand products. However, it's the same process. This is what I would do if I were selling these.

Any questions?
This has me thinking! Thanks 🥰 I am going to take some of my designs for other products and incorporate them into blankets! 🙌
Yes 🙌🏽 go for it!
Great video, thanks for sharing this Anji. And yes please do a tutorial 😊
Thank you! Look out for the tutorial on Friday!
Thank you Anji
I always want to design blankets but don't know how. Definitely a video would be awesome
Thank you! Look out for the tutorial on Friday!
Started on part 1, scrolled down & watched part 2, & o look part 3! ☺️
Tons of tutorials on my channel :)
Hey great information. I was just looking at blankets the other day as a niche product so this Video caught my eye . I need some guidance with my shop and was wondering if did store reviews or critiques. Please let me know. Thanks
Thank you for discussing this. I've been wanting to learn and sell blankets. I would really appreciate a video on how to design. I'm especially trying to figure out what pxl width and height to use in Canva. Also trying to figure out a small design on a corner versus the all over design. Really appreciate you talking about this one.
Thank you! Look out for the tutorial on Friday! (update: will be Sunday now my apologies for the dealy)
The product choice in Printify will tell you what dimensions to use for each product.
Great Mentor
Yes, please show us how to design for a blanket. Thank you.
Thank you! Look out for the tutorial on Friday!
Yes pls for a tutorial. Also can you do a product description too with that product pls. Thank you
Yes, sounds good. Thank you for your feedback!
You are great dear
Thank you so much 😀
Love ALL your videos, you really are the best Etsy coach ❤ Have been wanting to ask this for a while. Have seen your tutorials on doing a Etsy listing and you put someone else makes the product so it shows up on listing as A Print Shop, however more and more I am seeing shops that are very obviously POD yet they don’t have that on there, what is the fine line with this and can it be avoided putting on? Thanks!
Thank you so much 🙏 so kind of you. That is a requirement for pod. Etsy has always been a handmade market place but they expanded and allow you to have outside help now but require the transparency. You will need to check the box for your print provider for every listing.
Thank you so much for this Anji! I really want to add blankets on my store however I’m selling shirts and sweatshirts, do you think my store would look bad if I add the blankets on apparel? Also hoping that you could share your thoughts about niche vs general store on Etsy! 😊
You're very welcome. I definitely think you can add blankets to a store with shirts. Just make sure it has a similar feel or vibe with the photos and designs. There are product niches and then broad category niches and micro niches. I think with POD you can do many different types of products and you can do many broad niche categories and micro niches within those broad categories. However, I would never do just one listing for a niche. You need to dominate niches. 50-100 per niche. Otherwise you get watered down. I don't really that view that as a general store.
Totally came thinking it was a tutorial for how to design 😂 But great info!
Hi Anji for someone starting on etsy what product should they focus on here. a) Select a niche (like sports, outdoor, bridal etc..) and then add other products or b ) select 1 product (eg. blackets, sweatshirts etc) and draft it to other niches. What would your best recommendation be ? What would you do?
I would start with one product and one niche. Get 100 of that in your store then branch out to other niches. As you start getting sales out those designs on other products.
I was thinking about blankets. Please show us step by step how to make the blankets and upload them to Etsy. Thanks!
Thanks for your comment! Design video is up today now and the listing video will be later this week!
Good day Anji!
In one of your videos you speak about how you automate the process of making lots of listings (I think it’s “the Fastest System to get to 1000 listings” video). The one where you talk about creating templates in Canva - I’m pretty sure in the example you have each niche word (Teacher, Nurse, etc.) with a micro niche word (science, neonatal, etc). I was wondering, when I’m doing this for myself (finding my own keywords for the niches I’m selling in). Do you copy your own listing? Here’s an example of what I mean: when you start with creating the listing for the Science Teacher Tshirt, from the video and you finish the title and description and it’s ready to be listed - Can you take your Science Teacher listing, and copy and paste the description with title and tags for your Science Teacher shirt listing and change all the keywords that say Teacher to Nurse and Science to Neonatal- to expedite the process?
It could potentially work and that could help you move faster. However I would take the extra time to just run those through sale samurai so you have the best keywords for that micro niche. They will be different. In my opinion it doesn’t take that much extra time to put the keywords in the basic search and maybe find a couple better ones from the suggestions.
@@TheAnjiMartin Great, I’m on the same page. Thanks again!
I'd love to learn more about blankets! Very interested in knowing which blanket is better quality, I don't want to sell thin blankets. Thanks Anji! I've been loving your content and I just subscribed!
Thank you for your feedback! New video up today and another coming later this week :)
Anji,
Great video, but I would like to ask you, what would you advise on listing renewals. I just renewed my expring christmas desings and now they are on the top and my Valentine designs are in the backround. Do you renew designs automatically so you don't have to worry about manual renewal? I think that is the case with you, and I might heard this already on your videos. Just wanted to make sure. I think the sellers who have thousands os listings already they do not renew mannually because it is time consuming, correct?
You are correct. I have all my listings on automatic renewal. I want it all automated.
I'd be happy with 5k a month
That’s a great goal and very achievable with the right actions. 💗
Great video,Anji! Do you suggest opening only a POD Apparel store in 2023 considering the extremely high competition in this space on Etsy? To give you an example, I am interested in opening a POD Apparel store in camping niche. I just typed “Camping t-shirt” on Etsy and it showed me 86,852 results. As a new seller just starting out, how can I make sure Etsy will show my designs in this sea of 86,852 designs considering very few customers go past Page-2 statistically on e-commerce websites for their purchases. I would appreciate your response on this topic, thanks.
Yes. There are still lots of gaps in the market for apparel. More general terms like camping t-shirt will be more competitive because there are a lot of people doing this now. However, if you niche down MORE you will find tons of space to grow and thrive.
@@TheAnjiMartin Thanks Anji! Which social media channel do you suggest starting out with (Pinterest,Instagram,Facebook,TikTok?) In INR see to get maximum visibility for my Etsy POD store?
@@Om-gg5tk I dont use social media for my stores so I'm probably not the best person to ask that. I think listing on etsy and etsy seo and etsy ads is enough. But from my point of view if I was going to do any - it would probably be Tik Tok for maximum growth and visibility.
I believe the reason is there's no way to make blankets on canva. And a lot of sellers us Canva. The dpi and size you can't get big enough on canva.
I can't find a tutorial anywhere showing how to design a blanket on Canva with proper dpi to put on blanket.
You can create a print with your design and then put that on a blanket.
@@aprilpavia348 You can't get it big enough in canva. When you pull it into Printify the dpi is Not big enough.
I pulled it into photopea and made it larger but then the file size was to big.
Hopefully someone does a tutorial on how to make designs for blankets in Canva.
@@christinezeller5656 i do it all the time…. The png just needs to be the right dimensions
@@christinezeller5656 put your canva design into PRINTIFY and then click create pattern and the design is plenty big enough. Does that make sense? I literally do it all the time
@@aprilpavia348 Yes I mastered the pattern in Printify on blankets but I wanted to use a design that wasn't a pattern. So that's where is comes out low dpi.
What is the actual profit after all of the printify costs and etsy charges for each sale? The profit would likely be small for each item right?
Hi. This is a series that I did and I did show using the profit calculator on this. The profit would be about $15 after all expenses and fees.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I will check it out.
@@TheAnjiMartin Thank you for taking the time to respond. I will check this out. I appreciate it!
@@Kimberly-md1xs you’re very welcome 💗✨
People wouldn't pay 45 bucks for a blanket when they can buy one at Macys at a cheaper price. To attract people, personalization seems to be the key.

@@TheAnjiMartin awesome thanks
Etsy suspended my account for no reason and stopped my business 😢
They do that a lot to new stores to verify everything. Account are usually reinstated within a week or so. Is your store new?
@@TheAnjiMartin yes im new and just started designing on printify with so much happiness and motivation and suddenly they suspended it and now im wondering what to do, can’t i sell on printify only or other platforms like etsy ?? Do you have a tutorial for that ? 🤍
Hi Anji. You have such a great channel. I look forward to the content you put in your videos during the week! Lately, I’ve been struggling with something and hope you could help. I've been doing a lot of research on opening a Etsy shop which is really kind of an under statement :) I recently settled on a name for my shop, however I was using a web site to check available names (namecheckr) which led me to believe that the name I choose was available. So I was pretty excited, designed a banner, an icon, and was ready to go.. and then as you can probably imagine by my tone, the name wasn't available! It was pretty upsetting to say the least. Anyway, in the wake of realization I hastily came up with a new name and wanted to change it so I created a new account with the same email .. ugh! (long story). So after this big mess I somehow ended up with 3 shops and a big mess because now my accounts are suspended. I later learned in doing more research that there’s a way to officially change the name of your shop, without having to create a new shop, which would have made more sense (I feel pretty dumb for not knowing!). I believe, in one of your videos you say not to spend a lot of time on the name however, in researching 15-20 Best Sellers, it seems that the look and feel of these shops would not be possible without a decent name. So now I found a new name that feels right and is available and rather than create a new shop I plan to just change the name of whichever existing shop they give me (if they lift the suspension). Do you know if changing the name in Etsy will negatively affect my chances of listing properly in their search engine or maybe negatively affect how people find me?
Hi. Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad you are enjoying the content. I still 100% believe the name isn't that important. And yes you can change the name once your shop is open. I do not think it negatively impacts you at all - I have done this myself. Also, Etsy has this thing with suspending new acconts. It's really annoying but it happens to almost everyone. They will usually do some checks and reinstate the account within 3-5 days, so I wouldn't stress too much and keep things moving, planning, designing. etc. while you wait. Stay positive and don't over think. You've got this :)
@@TheAnjiMartin Thank you 🙏🏼 However do you think they’ll open them even after I created 3 separate shops in the past 2 days?
Etsy allows more than one shop. I think you will be fine.
@@TheAnjiMartin Thanks. I hope so.
In Sale Samurai I have been trying to figure out what it means when you search a keyword and each keyword results has a number. EXAMPLE nurse mom shirt⁸, shirt for dad¹⁸, boho chic blanket¹¹
Thank you!
