The photo reference is already lovely but your painting brings the light and life out.

Thank you so much Emma, I love everything about this painting. The detail, the light and shade, colour, texture the natural realism. You make me want to sit outside and enjoy nature...and get into my studio. This is so beautiful looking forward to painting along.

I am watching this for the first time. I love that you are posting for us to learn. I will join your patron soon. I'm retired so I am planning more time with pastels.

This painting is stunning. Thank you for the demo. It motivaded me to practise so that I could do it myself in this level. Greetings from Germany.

Dappled light is wonderful! A very beautiful painting, thank you. Very much enjoyed your use of the pencils.

Thank you! It was quite tricky in places and the pencils are so useful for this. Hopefully I can break it down in the tutorial so that everyone can have a successful go at it!

Love this and your teaching method. How long did this actually take to complete?

Thank you! This took between 8 and 9 hours in total. But I was also chatting during the process for the tutorial series so was pausing to talk about colours etc. So that was quite a relaxed painting speed and lots to talk about along the way! :-)
