Which brand of RAM should i get? Does it impact the performance if i buy a different brand (still ddr 4) than the one already installed? Don't you lose dual channel or something when you put 8 gb with 16 gb?
Curious how you plan on mitigating the heat. M.2 Drives should have some kind of thermal tape across all the chips. Acer looks to have used a single pad for their 1 chip m.2 drive. Did you bother to place a full strip across your new drive to stop thermal throttling?
Thermal pads don’t do much unless you use them against proper heat sink, there’s no space for a heatsink here. This is more of an issue with PCIe4 drives.

What problems can I have?
Thank you very much.
I would go with 3200, it is backwards compatible, which means it can run at slower speeds, such as 2933.
@@305TechOfficial Thank you. Greetings from Mexico.

do i need to remove the battery connection before adding the ram sticks i bought? how do i ground myself to prevent damaging the components in laptop?
Okay so I'm pretty new to all of this does it matter which side of the ram you replace
Make them match.
Upgradable RAM, SSD, wireless card, and the power plug is in the rear. Id get one.
Since you took out the C: drive, you going to install a new OS on that new NVME right?
Yep!
Please tell me the screw size of the back panel and the screw driver needed to open the back panel.

Nice video.
I have this type of Acer An515-56 I5 11300H. Was wondering if i can put Ddr 5 Ram or it support only Ddr4 ?
Only ddr-4.
Which brand of RAM should i get? Does it impact the performance if i buy a different brand (still ddr 4) than the one already installed?
Don't you lose dual channel or something when you put 8 gb with 16 gb?
No! Still dual chanel but may be for first 16GB. I am with that configuration
Ram recommendation in the video description.
I'm thinking about getting this laptop to replace my current low-end laptop, does it perform well in games with or without upgrades?
It will play ok out of the box.
Thank you, very helpful video
Curious how you plan on mitigating the heat. M.2 Drives should have some kind of thermal tape across all the chips. Acer looks to have used a single pad for their 1 chip m.2 drive. Did you bother to place a full strip across your new drive to stop thermal throttling?
Thermal pads don’t do much unless you use them against proper heat sink, there’s no space for a heatsink here. This is more of an issue with PCIe4 drives.
Can someone help me? I installed it just like that but my laptop is not picking it up
Can you make a video about how to take out the fans or deep clean them? Got this so when I am not home I can still play with friends while my desktop gathers dust. But I have heard these things get very clogged if you don't clean the fans, I tried to look for info but none with this specific model.
Do you recommend to use compressed air with the fangs, or should I go with someone who knows more about computers?
I personally use a dust brush and just blow gently. Not a fan of compressed air.
@@305TechOfficial perfect, thank you
how did you remove the cover using your bare hands???
Guys can you completely change the ram? Like can we remove the older ram already placed by new ram?
You didn't have to remove the battery or do you have to? I've watched some tutorials but they all said you have to unplug it but the battery wire seems like it's easy to snap when pulled
I’ve never done it, never fried any components… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
When you replaced the original ssd did you have reinstall windows? Or is it plug and play? Thanks for the help
Yes you just reinstall or clone the OS
@@305TechOfficial thank you
I have model acer nitro 5 an515-57-536Qand I was wondering what is the best route in moving the start up to a new nvme. Or should I just install it on the new one.
Thanks 👍
No problem 👍
I see you did not remove the battery before installing the upgrades, is it completely safe to upgrade without removing the battery?
You are supposed to remove the battery but I don count glass upgrades and I have never had a single issue so I am going to continue doing it this way, however, it is recommended that you do remove the battery first.
I have this laptop and I want to crack her open 1 time to upgrade storage and performance. Can you recommend what I need and provide some links? Prefer to "buy once, cry once". Thank you!
Check out the links in my videos they’re there!
Thank you
I have two questions to ask but I plan on adding a 4 TB SSD once I order it online off Amazon but if I replace the 512 GB SSD with the 4 TB SSD will I lose all the stuff that I installed on the 512 GB SSD? Also it shows on my Acer Nitro 5 that there are available slots for 2 X SSD + 1 HDD so does that mean I can add a Gen 4 M.2 4 TB SSD without replacing the 512 GB SSD?
Thank you.
Hello whats the maxmium hard drive and ssd drive storage you can install on this laptop thanks
@1:59 you are holding up a cable that allows you to connect a SATA SSD to the laptop..what is the specific name of that cable? I inherited the Acer laptop from a friend and she didn't have any of the original packing and did not know about the cable.
Lookup on eBay “acer sata cable”
Do I need to backup the laptop at all? Or can I just turn it off and put the ssd in and expect it to work just like that?
I NEED A SCREWDRIVER FOR CHRISTMAS TOO!!!
The one I’m getting has 1tb already. And it does come with the 16gb memory. I was told to just upgrade to a 32gb memory though. Do you think that is fine?
Do you know off a bigger battery option that can fit or occupy the HDD tray area. The Asus Tuf series has 2 battery available, the smaller one comes with an empty HDD tray and the bigger one comes without a HDD tray because the bigger battery occupies the HDD area?
I don’t think an added battery will add much time not to mention system will not perform well on battery while using GPU intensive apps.
I should have bought the M1 macbook air even just the 256 GB storage and 8 GB memory. I don't play PC games very much.
@@jcadag8789 no, apple= always bad, should have just bought a normal i7 or i9 laptop
@@305TechOfficial asus tuff laptop have the same core i5 and rtx 3050 GPU but last longer significantly while browsing and watching youtube reading emails and browsing my social media app. the reason is because the asus occupied the HDD slot for a significantly bigger battery. When playing gpu intensive apps or games the added battery size would be somewhat insignificant. At least with the asus tuff lap[top i can browse the internet far longer while i'm on the go or traveling.
Yeah my laptop (Nitro 5) is the same model number nn stuff, but slightly different specs... but besides that mine can only upgrade the RAM to 32 GB, he claims his can go up to 64 GB that is dope!
officially you can only up to 32GB, so it is written on the official Acer website.
So you don't need to clone the OS to the new ssd? Just like that, plug and play?
Still have to clone OS or re-install. Just like that 😉
@@305TechOfficial how do I clone or re-install the ssd ?
He could’ve just installed the new one on the second m.2 slot lmfao
when upgrading the ram are there any bios changes that have to be done, or is it all automatic?
It’s all automatic.
Hi do you know if the 32 gb version has dual channel RAM??
Can you do that on any Acer Nitro 5 laptop? Or is there a specific Acer Nitro 5 you need?
Depends on the specific model but so far Acer as been very upgrade friendly.
How do you install the SSD on windows 11 and clone it please?
Hi added one more 8gb ram to the second slot, the laptop is powering on but black scree occurs,
Only Slot 1 : old ram works
Only slot 2 : new ram works
Both slots : black screen in both combinations
What to do ? Fans running keyboard lightup but black screen
There is a green light(or bulb) blinking inside in the backside(botton) of laptop.I was able to notice it from the space given in the backpannel to see fans. Same Model. Is it a problem?
I don’t see a problem.
Ahh. I bought mine used and it didn't come with the 2.5 SSD connector
I've just ordered a 2.5 2tb and a 1 tb m.2 and 2 32gb ram
🔥
I heard somewhere that always remove battery connection before doing anything
Will you lose any memory by swapping ssd’s?
3:24 what screwdriver did you use to open that
it looks like he has it linked in the description
can u make a video or tutorial to replace Lcd of nitro 5 please. thanks
Sorry I don’t do those repairs
You should disconnect first the battery before doing anything that the first thing you should do
How do I know from which side im supposed to connect the ram??
look at the connecter
You know when u put the second ram, some people do it the other way around, so which way is it supposed to go?
It only goes one way, the plan layout does not let you do it the other way. Thanks for stopping by.
i am newbie sir, is it compatible to all acer nitro 5 model? Acer Nitro 5 AN-515-45 thank you.
