Glad you enjoyed it!! I'm working on another video right now with Tiger sharks and more great hammerheads I think you may enjoy more. Should be out in the next few weeks.
@@johnfreele that I don’t know but I can look to see if there are. I know that most of the attacks happen during the black tip sharks migration but we also have bull and tiger sharks here as well. Great whites have been seen about a mile or so offshore but no attacks from them.
@@johnfreele I am very interested to learn few tips . What camera / lens/ lights/ filter do you use? Editing program? Ambient light is great during your dives, super sharp video🐟🐟🐟.
@Radek Smid I'm using an A1 with a 28-60mm behind the WWL-1B. Loving it for photos but I'm getting a lot of noise when shooting in low light. Debating on switching to the A7siii for video. With that setup i could shoot in SLOG 3 and bump the iso up to 12800 and have a greater depth of field for wide angle. Just got the Sola Pro 15000 video lights. Was using a scubalamp v6k and a weefine solar flare 12000. Wouldn't use a red filter with the A1 but would like to try it on an A7siii.
Wow, shots look pretty wide. A1 , I was guessing one of those $50k RED. Pretty serious set up, wow. True pleasure to watch, sharks, clear water and quality to shots.🥰
This is my new night watch going to sleep. Hopefully I’ll dream of me in this with you guys. It’s so beautiful so surreal. I live in Ohio and I one day want to dive and see sharks. I love sharks. I love how the tiger sharks keep coming back wanting attention. They want love and attention too. Thank you for sharing. By far the best I’ve seen ever.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!! I've fallen behind on videos but am putting a video out in the next couple of days for the Maldives and an epic trip through the Philippines soon. Just got back from Tiger Beach and Bimini. Working on another video, this time much better hammerhead footage!!
This is spectacular! We were blown away by the quality of your footage. The clarity and focus!? Wow! We would love to hear about your setup. Camera/lens. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Thanks so much!! I was using a Sony A1 in Nauticam housing with 28-60mm lens with a WWL-1b wet lens. I usually use a grey card for white balancing but not the best for these types of shark dives (don't want the shark to confuse grey card for a fish) so I just white balanced to the sand.
Thanks so much. I tend to go when there is an overlap with the main season to see Great Hammerheads in Bimini. I will put out another video that i just shot in February shortly so you can see what February is like.
Wow John. What can I say? Absolutely stunning. I did a baited shark dive in Jupiter Florida but the water was so green I didn't upload it to my YT channel as the footage was crap. I am planning on going to Bimini sometime in February or March of 2024. Hopefully I will get water conditions similar to what you had. That looked like easy 100 foot visibility. I'm not going on a live aboard. I'm going to dive with Bimini Scuba Center as we are just looking to spend a couple of nights. It looks like you shot in 4K but what was your frame rate 240? Buttery smooth. I use a housed GoPro and have been shooting all of my underwater video in 4K 60FPS which I'm happy with but after seeing your footage I have my work cut out for me.
Thanks so much. All the footage was in 4k 60. Majority was slowed down on a 30fps timeline. The conditions at Tiger Beach were amazing. Bimini wasn't the greatest this trip with the liveaboard I was on, seemed like the people that went out with Neil Watsons out of Bimini Scuba Center had better luck. I was there in Dec 2019 as well and we had up to 7 great hammerheads at the same time. Good luck with your trip!
How did you make that trip? I mean, how can make a trip like that. I have SSI certifications. I want to know how did you plan the trip? The dive operator with that kind of dive?
There are two liveaboards that depart out of the US, Dolphin Dream & Shearwater that do Tiger Beach for tiger sharks, some of their trips include Bimini for Great Hammerheads. There is Bahamas Master that typically departs from Grand Bahamas, some of the itineraries include both tiger beach and Bimini. Neil Watsons has local trips from Bimini for the great hammerheads and sometimes has a boat that departs from Grand Bahamas west end for tiger beach. Due to a pretty extreme accident in November 2023 it seems the operators are being very cautious at tiger beach and likely not letting people get too close to the tiger sharks during the feeding, not sure how long this will last.
That's wonderful quality amazing I am a professional videographer and im planning to go Bahamas next year. My plan is to go Tiger beach and Bimini for Hammerhead but I found kind of hard to go between islands. Is there a Livebored that goes to both islands? im also would to take videos of Dolphines and Stingrays
I was on the 14 day master liveaboard I believe. Some of the shorter trips go to Tiger Beach & Bimini as well. Just make sure you go during hammerhead season if you want to fit Bimini in.
Great film, all of it so well executed. I usually prefer no music but it was lovely too.! May I ask, did you meet " Emma" - I thought I recognized the world famous tiger shark...by chance with Jim Abernethy?( bffs for 25 years) Thanks for posting this!
Thanks so much!! I custom white balance either to the sand or the palm of my hand. I usually use a grey card on normal dives but not during feedings (don't want the shark to mistake the card for a fish). I find it gets the colours close enough and just do small touch-ups in post.
You'll notice all the lil fish aren't scattering for their lives. It's because is It's not dinner time yet. We all do this some times with bad asses, but only at certain times, like when their not in the mood or drunk. Do we walk into the middle of a frenzy ? Uh ah !
The advantage of these sessions is that the divers pay for the trip, fuel and all, and the club promises a top-quality dinner after the excursion. No one comes back alive so the club always saves the restaurant money
Absolutely beautiful guys!!! Let's save them! ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!!
This video is the most beautiful I have seen, thanks from a shark lover ❤❤🐋
