In this video I show you the problem to my 18" 45cc Homelite chainsaw. I'm sure its a common problem between everyone who uses it - (the chain brake) I removed it for better clearance because it didn't work in the first place. I hate when broken parts get in the way. The guy wasn't wrong for getting rid of it, because this Homelite chainsaw was messed up to begin with, which is why the guy was selling it. I knew I could make it work, that's why I got it in a heartbeat.
I don't know what it is with Homelite, but I like their chainsaws. People give them a bad rap for whatever reason, but if you look at it, its built just like any other 2 stroke or 2 cycle engine. These machines are good in my book, still works till this day (in year 2022) with no more chain brake issues lol

It doesn’t cost that much to buy the new spring and you could save yourself from getting cut

Couldn't he just have loosened the brake band instead of cutting it off......
....and I was searching the web looking for a brake band because mine wore through. Sigh

I didn’t know how to loosen it, i think it was kinked too. I don’t know, I forget. I just remember cutting it. The video is old. Lol I have 2 home lite chainsaws and neither of them have the brake band on them lol On this chainsaw I cut it off. The other one was already off from the guy I bought it from. I don’t think it matters about the brake band too much. Yeah it’s for safety, but I wanted it to run and that band was stopping the saw from rotating so I just cut it off. It works perfect now. Still works amazing. Lol fuck a band. Seems like that band is an issue more than anything with these saws. The reason I cut it off and not putting one back on. It doesnt need it

i did the same thing, i've had chainsaws without any chain brake, i don't need a brake on a chainsaw honestly. It's easier to just cut it, takes a couple of seconds.

6 minutes into a the video and still haven't started to address the issue stated in the title. Thumbs down, won't subscribe, and not watching anything else from this channel.

Lol thanks for letting me know. I made this video a long time ago brainless I guess you would say. With out knowledge of how to make a video, or even how to explain things. I guess I was just going along with what I was doing without an agenda or anything lol hopefully my upcoming videos teach better than my old ones. Thanks for the comment.
