How come I never heard of this before?!? The percussion instruments were fantastic. They followed the rules of only allowing as many hits as there were sticks available at the beat. And the animation of the striking "arms" was terrific, what with the bouncing back and everything. The first piece was the best.

I had Animusic on DVD an eternity ago. I never saw Animusic 2, and DAMN, what a rendition of Promenade, Hut on Hen's Legs, and Great Gate of Kiev at 11:57. Pictures at an Exhibition is my favorite composition more than 100 years old.
Eternity? Ah no. This is the logical digital end result of watching The Mind's Eye, or should I say "Beyond The Mind's Eye". That was the big bang of the digital music video universe.
My only problem with it is that it's too short. We only get a taste of that sweet ending bridge before an immediate fadeout, just one more loop would've made it so much greater
i remember seeing these videos being on PBS for a short time they looked cool then and even more so now being able to understand the the amount of effort that went into it i love these
After all the attempts that have been made to create Animusic like videos not to mention much better software, these still hold up as the benchmark. I have yet to see a glitch in the timing or the sync with the "instruments" being played and the notes. Always spot on no matter the complexity of the music at any given moment. Boggles the mind actually and I've been playing music most of my 78 years and made a living at it. These guys are just from another planet. It's a shame they didn't or couldn't (whichever came first) continue.
@@KaffeMedBulla I understand that, but I still have yet to see anyone do it as well as these guys. You still have to create the visuals and the music and then do the programming before it even knows what a MIDI note or file is or how to "interpret" it or "respond" to it. But yes, you are correct. It is indeed tied to MIDI. So are other programmers I've seen, but I've yet to see anyone rise to this level. Doesn't mean they haven't, I just haven't seen it and there's so much "stuff" out there now, it's impossible to have time to see it all lol! These guys have captivating music and great programming! It has stood the test of time quite well. That's really all I was saying. Just a compliment to their creativity.
I convince my family to play this every time we have people over and it always works and always has, guess this is where my love of music really started :)
This is the most mesmerizing hypnotic visual musical journey ever. This like watching a human's brains neurons pathways in action. The mechanical creativity to this music is just beyond amazing. If the human brain's pathway's function could be put into a mechanical format this would be it.
I have only just discovered this video. Where have I been all this time. Stupendous, wonderful, entertaining, beautiful animation etc, etc. Can't find better words to describe how much I enjoyed watching and listening. Great work guys. Music choices and the animation were superb! Wow!!
These were huge back in the '00s! I remember CGI, while still out there of course, was nascent enough that I had to wonder how they did this! Like it was a trip to think that it was all computer animated. Now you just kind of automatically assume things like these are.
Each is a Master Piece!! Such a talented group that put these together. Now I am going to have to go back and listen to/watch the first series again. I played a few of these while giving demos of our Studion Reference Monitors at trade shows. I really injoyed Intel's model that played Pipe Dream
Видео просто супер 👍! Музыка шикарна и прекрасна. Спасибо 🙏 вам наиогромнейшее, за такие интересные видео и музыку. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Empire is back! Especially the final sequence and moment! Maybe it's necessary. To honour the music and getting some kind of prasing of sound and spirit.
это бесподобно, и красиво всё сделано, музыка будущего и роботы-музыканты продолжат продолжат наше муз.дело !!! и это нас обязательно ждёт, а человек будет наслаждаться и балдеть !это великолепно !!!
Love how it goes from a sombre/timeless/deep/almost intimate/sad.. to then a majestic positivity at the end.. but my god that music sounds like it was born in the very depths of sacred universe/pyramid.. for all time and all time there will ever be.. imagine like infinite echo in space.. it forever permeates in my heart and soul and forever..
i still have my old DVD, and watching this i sometimes wonder if it IS Not a computer graphic creation, but real and we just aren't ready to meet the 'aliens' yet. i pretty much wore out my VHS on Pipe Dreams...
The bouncing Pogo instruments reminds me of Wizzard of OZ , follow the yellow brick road the melody, even has a similar sound to follow the yellow brick road.
I remember when these came out! Love watching these!
like its 2009
That’s when I was born

the twist in cathedral colossal totally blew me away
Edit: in the matrix too, these are masterpieces
As much as I don’t… like Animusic 2, I will admit, the ending of Heavy Light brings me to tears every time.
Wayne Lytle, I love you.

LOL The balls strike back! 🤣
You see guys, anything can make music, no matter how…
lobster-like and a- bit scary it might be…
Heavy light will forever remain my favorite.
My favorite’s the resonant chamber because I had an imaginative with the guitar, autoharp, bass, mandolin, harpsichord, & ukulele

As a huge music nerd, this remaster allows me to hear so much more detail that I've missed years past, and it's super cool.
How do I get a CD... anyone? DVDs can play CDs but I only have a CD player that can't play DVDs
面白いねぇー。ついつい見蕩れると共に聞きほれてしまいました。うp主さん、素晴らしい動画をUpしてくれてありがとう。
Amazing that people are still just now discovering this wonderful piece of my childhood.
This is part of what made me want to be a musician.
I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS IN MUSIC CLASS AT MY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!
Me too
Same
Same here when I was younger I just bought it again for nostalgia

To think animusic 2 has been around for 18 years 😃

The instruments play perfectly because they were made so that you can drop in a midi file and the program animates it for you.

oh wow the audio balance is so different than I remember. wild
I seen a lot of these on tiktok and I love these videos
You know 4th grade music class was gonna be good as soon as the teacher got the TV out and put this on.
The bouncing pogo sticks gave me a brain worm. No matter which Animusic song plays, I also imagine the pogo sticks bouncing along 😀
Yay! Now I don't have to turn the TV on anymore when I want to watch it
The first song is the reason I like progressive music.
WoW, fantastic well done job.😊
Bruh my music teacher used to play these movies all the time in elementary school. I miss it

God animusic is so good
Something about these and there music reminds me of rush sometimes
Great I like it good surround sound.
A little like watching the Moody Blues percussionist in the studio.
These were the best thing that ever happened to my childhood second only to battlefront 2 2005
This is so wild! And fun to watch.

I saw them in Jacksonville. At the end Rollo threw his head into the crowd. Crazy.

The pogo sticks are literally me
that was really cool!
Spider Strings is my favorite.

The only thing that could make this better is MORE COWBELL!

Absolut GENIAL 👍
Resonant Chamber is the sole reason why I stim.
this album istg
5:36 i just realized one of the guitars's arms phases through the bass's arm right there!!!!
Bellissimo!👋👋👋
7:30 slightly triggers my arachnophobia, but the music is soothing.. comfortably anxious.
I also had that feeling when I was young!
I’m no longer afraid of spiders for the most part, though, I still get that feeling, if slightly less tense
This is so cool!!!!!
I think that the last song 31:24 was the perfect finally to animusic, it just feels so climatic
Thank you so much

I had so looked forward to another Animusic DVD, but after KickStarter collected the money, they split up and nothing more was created. A pity.
