Animusic was a huge part of my childhood and we don’t have a DVD player anymore, so I’m very happy to find these masterpieces on RUclips. Who else watching in 2023?
Me! I remember when my Dad got it for me after seeing it on PBS. Still watch videos of it to this day, I need to get another Blu Ray set of 1 & 2 to add to the small movie collection that I have.
My dad put this on a CD, and i remember listening to this while playing games like PurbleWorld, I Spy Rom, and games on BOX-10 and Kongregate, Hoodamath, Coolmath, PBS Kids go, etc, ah, good times! Man, us 2000's and 2010's kids had it good!
Out of all of the Animusic videos, this one just has me in such awe. The sheer might it radiates gives me goosebumps. I want to sincerely believe that this is a monument we could possibly build and make work in real life; that would be absolutely sick.
As project Harmonic Voltage, this musical civilization's last desperate call for help, was launched, they activated the heavy light pyramid as a beacon, so that any who may find project Harmonic Voltage can find their way to the crumbled and collapsed ruins of the once great musical civilization that was animusic. Their only goal? To not be forgotten. However, all they knew was song. They documented their story of how they came to be through many different pieces of incredible music. Now, their will lives on in the heavy light pyramid which activates once every century, along with the music they left behind.
Imagine travelling for many parsecs to witness the once-in-your-lifetime activation, only to get there a minute too late because some uppity bipedal primitives managed to halt the construction of a hyperspace bypass route through their star system so you had to go the long way...
For literally absolutely no reason at all this video would pop into my head every six months. For 15 years I've been trying to figure out what it was called and I've finally found it. If I die tomorrow know that my life is now complete
This is simply a masterpiece in music and animation. Everything from the way that the bassier notes are spaced further apart, to the elaborate, yet somehow believable, architecture in my mind makes this the magnum opus of Animusic.
My brothers and I used to watch Animusic 1 and 2 on DVD all the time when we were really young. My family sometimes did too. That was years ago. I was just looking around on RUclips because I was bored and this came up along with an entire playlist of Animusic. Was not expecting to have en entire flashback of childhood 😮
The way it changes from that I'd call it E5 chord at 2:15 to that sort of Cmaj7/6 chord is just so beautiful to me.. Animusic is my childhood and that is just getting me really close to tears I don't know it's just amazing.. Love Wayne for things like that
Someone made a synthesia of this and I think the first chord you were talking about was B4 E4 B5 and the one after was C4 F4 A5 B5 I don’t know what that would be considered though
Those two chords are essentially a variation of the intro chords when the red lasers come in at 1:59 - E minor then F major over E pedal in the bass (classic phrygian chords). The only difference at 2:15 is the G is missing from E minor (so we get E5) and the B remains suspended through second chord (F major with B sus over E pedal).
Animusic has been so important to me ever since I first saw in when I was a little kid, and this has always been my favorite song and animation. I could sit here watching this forever :)
This is my theme, how it starts soft, then goes hard to the end. It fits my personality to a tee. 0:05 is where the music begins. 1:13 is where the theme gets serious. It's also a looping point.
Well, maybe I can make you feel good: I am just composing a piece of guitar/synth funeral music for which the middle part is greatly inspired by this piece of Animusic.
i mean, if played at the right frequency, plasma can make sound if you're determined enough and with a budget comparable to the US annual defense budget, you could actually make this irl (except the drums, idk how youre gonna get that working)
Interesting how ahead of its time this one was in terms of musical trends. The one-note pulses in the bass section are reminiscent of modern metal, as are the drums.
The pure power of the sound is absolutely incredible. With my speaker it seems like it could give anyone goosebumps in 5-mile radius. Amazing work you have done.
I love Animusic and I remember hearing this song for the first time and I love it! Not to mention that the colors are so beautiful!Thank you for the upload!😊
Heavy Light was what introduced me to Animusic, all because I happened to catch this song as the preview on our public broadcasting channel. Grateful that I did ever since.
Thanks for this precious work of yours, master. Collecting the knowledge from around the Tube and enhancing its quality to let us, mere fans, to experience it one more time in these dark times. I love this
@@CraigRodmellMusicI thought maybe it was the bridge at 3:38 to 4:00. The offbeat syncopation or whatever makes the timing seem faster, even though it's not really faster, to my untrained ear
There's a "Danger! Hazardous Sonic Equipment Active" sign put up outside the edge of the pyramid when this song is active, and for good reason. A careless worker thought it would be cool to stand in front of one of the gongs during a pre-show test run when the sonic laser fired, and it made them literally explode from the inside out.
This is the sound of a melody that echo’s through out space and time itself. A mighty voice of it’s master’s creation that screams…I WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN. I WILL NOT BE CONTENT TO BE AN INSIGNIFICANT SPEC IN THIS VAST UNIVERSE! I-WILL-BE-HEARD!!!
I first thought this was a magic temple that sang for the life of the lost mummy. Then I legit thought a mummy would come out of the thing at the end. 😂
Geez this was my first animusic song from maybe 10 years ago or so…I just saw this pop in my recommended so I had to come back. This is such a great song
This part reminds me of regular show 4:05 Also another question where is the sunlight coming from because the moon isn’t the sunlight I’ve always wondered.
I really want to see what this setup looks like with all possible notes playing simultaneously. Except those lasers that dangle from the arch, they're limited, but they could fully extend all the targets.
Me when I was really little: Look at all the cool lights! Me now: wow this is nostalgic it kinda rocks hey what would happen if I stuck my hand in one of the lasers?
Is it weird that the sound of scraping stone is my fav thing about this song and has been since I first downloaded many years ago? Not to say the rest isn't good, just, that's the sound that gives me the goosies every time
Still love this al these years. Together with Pipedream is this the best of animusic. The spaceship is also beautiful, but less impactful then this one.

Watching this now, after watching it over many times over the year, goosebumps still come from this masterpiece for sure.
Je suis totalement d'accord avec toi! 👌
This honestly feels like an incredible send off to Animusic as a whole. Sends shivers down my spine every time.

this animusic lore is really interesting, keep making more! or maybe make a full video on it
That sounds like an incredible video game plot, would totally do it if I knew enough code...
Woah... the lore... it's beautiful...
Then, some electric bots came, and set up new projects like gyro drums.
5:04 i love how the red reflector laser goes into an arpeggio. it goes insanely well with the bass and the yellow laser.
along with the much smaller green one. that one's crazy when you look at it.
I simply cannot go through this part without repeating it at least 10 times before continuing on
