Sir I owe you an apology ,I avoided your site due to thinking you was one of the elites who make people think they are below them ,Instead I caught up with you on the Dyno of Death episode and watched, You are actually down to earth , Knowledgeable and yet reachable, You promote the family and all around took me by surprise ,I thought I would say thank you for being who you are ,At 68 an old dog can still learn ,I will be watching from now on.
Cool
Thanks for that.
Yes Sir Steve always has been a good soul. Has always shown the good and bad. He will tell you and show you if he makes a mistake. As for family yep Family comes first. Thank you for your being open and honest Sir. One Old Soul to another take care
It's the number one way I tell someone is really smart. In the right circumstances they don't hesitate to say, I don't know.
Those words, when I was in Construction,
I had printed on my Hard Hat…!
So Thankyou….🤔
I dont know man…
The dumber the person the harder it is for those words to come out of his/her mouth
That’s called Dunning Kruger
Even smarter is "I dont know, but I can find out"
Val is your best Sugar Momma, Steve!
Yes she is!
@@stevemorrisracingyour 3000 hp 1971 mach one ran 7 seconds!!
LS George must be there helping with the belts this week
that poor radiator hose needs a scatter shield, to protect it from the belts. :D
What a ripper! Someone is going to be VERY happy to win this!
I can't imagine how nice Sugar Moma really is.I had one in the early 90s daily driver Monte Carlo wheels 400 horse small block,The car was a blast and drove it everywhere.
That’s got to be the best give away ever. Someone is going to be stoked to have this ready to go car. 🥰
Love the hydraulic lifters. No valve lash adjustment cold and warm, cold and warm.
Well done, Steve! Congratulations!!
Sugar Moma is a Beast. I can't wait to see Val make a blast down the track. It's going to be awesome.
She's already the right color we are getting a new strip up in Jacksonville, Florida. It would be awesome to be able to run this down the track! I would probably daily it though. It would be so cool to pass my buddies on the way to the track with their trailer queens! (most are no where near this fast!)
Even though i watched this in real time from the welding table just in front of the car, it's still exciting to watch this car run.
New machine paying for its self. Nice sounds, plus playing with sugar momma. What could be better.
That’s awesome Steve,, 1000 at the tire is a lot of peoples life long bucket list.. I know it’s on mine!
Got my T-shirt! Thank you. Love the videos. Keep up the good work, and be safe! Good luck this year. We'll be watching here in southern MO.
7:37 The sound of money 💰 😅
That really shows how much hp superchargers eat. That same engine on 21lb of boost with turbos would be way over 1000 wheel. I do love the simplicity of the centrifugal supercharger though. Everything has tradeoffs. Love the car, and the content!
After programming for 14 years it’s hard to listen to that cutter chatter in the background due to wrong chip load it’s beating itself up! You can hear it’s in aluminum ripping.
I am not a machinist, but does it matter that the block has been hardened? Is the noise a result of harder material?
I noticed that too. Some serious howling going on.
That's just the Haas Didgeridoo
Inserts are to sharp. It will melo out as they wear.
From watching all of the machining videos Steve has posted I know that a large portion of the tools are stuck out too long. That and the incompetence of the machinist is where the terrible sounds originate. They probably don’t know that they are wasting tool life with that chatter….
I had to order some merch to help the cause after watching the Dyno catastrophe video last week. Love the content and knowledge you share!
Awesome to see it in person! I was standing about 6' off to the left for the first 3 pulls!
I was, definitely, wondering what that noise was...
It's interesting that Steve includes Australian First Nation songs in the video. That didgeridoo was well played... 😁😁😜😜
We are getting cold winter mix this week in Southern Oregon as well 😮
Im in Wiscompton and we got some inches today and heading east.
The vast amount of knowledge that you have and share with us is wonderful…
Again, I learn something every video I watch.
Thank you
Lord willing going to the track on Saturday or Sunday, gonna take a wild guess he's willing on Saturday,😂
Very nice Malibu , anyone would be proud to own it. Thanks for the video.
That is one bad Malibu! Looks awesome, good job 👍🏻
I've used many belts for serp belt drive applications and have found the Continental Elite, to be the best. They make a helluva timing belt as well.
Sugar Momma looking hot!!
recheck the toque on the supercharger brackets to the engine. if they get loose you will eat belts and loose boost
What a great opportunity. Thank you
Sweet ! Thanks for sharing !
Love it! Great work!
Bad ass super mama can’t wait to see it at the track.
Got my hat and shirt in the mail today. Can't wait to race her when I win it.
at one point my wife said she's fine with 930hp in her new car but 1000 will be ok , she's just going to Meijers
Entry level. Running 8’s 😮😂
the noise sounds like a Australian sound track lol love it
the guy playing the digeridoo in the background needs more lessons
😂😂😂
I was trying to think of the name of the instrument 😂🎉
😂
Is that noise from one of the CNC machines?? EDIT: commented before I got to part of the machine, my bad. Carry on.
Nice! 1000+ HP Sugar Mama is what every car guy dreams of! As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Yes! Thank you!
Sugar Momma giving out a little sugar for the Dyno I see LOL!
Racing at Stanton this weekend? I’ll be there wearing your merch and testing my ctsv!
Depending on what size spring you got and what kind of suction you got on your lips are Steve
Thanks for sharing. Definitely a nice ride.
Makes me want to go buy something just for the chance to be able to race it on the weekends and the occasional drive to work
You guys rock! Thanks for the video!
How much of the belt got sucked in. And wrapped on the compressor wheel of the superchargers? Just a thought.
Steve and Kyle, y'all rock! Sugar Momma gets down. Peace 🤘 💥 ✌️
Steve.....How many RPM's you feel safe spinning hydraulic roller lifters? When is it time to switch to a solid roller? Pump up? Bleed down? What's your theory?
I switched to solid rollers last motor. I turn max 8k rpm's and shouldn't, banging gears at 7200 and try to keep it 7500ish. Do I really need the solid rollers?
Someone totally needs to make some new sort of supercharger belt, see it so often at higher HP on vehicles (do wonder if there would be another way to drive them without a belt and not have a large loss)
at 7:20 on camera angle or something bent/twisted and belt alignment is off. I will watch for more belts to be chewed. lol
Would love to drive that thing! Cool as Sugar Momma!
Getting a thousand horsepower out of that is awesome but to be honest around where I live the time you speak of is almost unreal. Any drag strip around here was taken out years ago. Something like 899 would blow people's minds away around here
Sounds like metal on metal somewhere
Thank you for not putting all kinds of loud music when i'm trying to listen to you talk.!
Man Steve, that thing sounds sick! I can't believe you're giving your wife's car away!lol...what do I have to do..? I'm poor, had both arms crushed in a 100 room industrial brake press, so limited on work, been waiting over 6yrs since I applied for disability, with a lawyer! I'd be someone who would be changed completely, if I won the Malibu! I'll never afford the best of the best like you have, but I've put all I could into my 99 Camaro, and honestly I have to get it together and use as a daily!! It has a fresh 11.5:1 408, Dart Pro1 225's, Johnson lifters, 3/8 push rods(you ever have clearance issues with aftermarket heads?), summit balancer, low ram w/FIC 1440's on E85, FIS 91/102 T4. QP 9", 3.70 gear, built TH400, but needs a brake. Still need exhaust, and I'm pretty adamant about running it past the trans, at least, and a muffler! Any experience there..? My kit, it U's off the turbo, to a 90 and a jog or something thru d/s K member. That's for 3" pipe though, so idk what's going to fit, if I can get 3" thru the p/s too, or if I can get single 4"back, I'd be happy! Thanks man!
Nice. Somebody is gonna have fun with that buggy.
imagine the power if you would tighten that intake clamp.
Best thing about this pull...you borked both belts BEFORE you gave it away. Better PR...lol
Steve can I ask why a ribbed or tooth belt isn’t used ? Surly it wouldn’t need to be as tight and it would be more Reliable let alone for full protection sensation for sugar mamma 😂
Actually the serp is easy on blowers and works really well in this application
Toothed belts don't slip and very harsh on the aplication as serp belt will give smoother power delivery with minimal slippage as a safety feature not being harsh on the step up drive gears..
Love the varying intro cards "CAUTION: You may learn something about a boost leak"😂😂
Sugar momma is probably the sickest giveaway car on the planet. I hope people really appreciate just how ridiculous 1000hp (on a hub dyno) is to drive down the road. You can literally cure hickups when you downshift going down the road.
It is a super cool, well built car and that I would love to win except that there is no way I could ever register the car here in CA. 😔. Would probably have to sell it.
Dont get too excited, it is a dynocom dyno after all 😂
Only because I don't know anything about Torque Storm superchargers, what's the advantage over twin turbos or a Procharger?
Sugar mama loves them belts!
check the sick week footage to see if LS george touch the belt 😂😂😂😂
I love how snappy that beast is! Damn!
All about that camshaft! 👍🤘👏
If U own it! U BETTER BELIEVE ITS NICE!!! ITS A HECK OF A LOT BETTER THAN NICE!!!
The look on the face when you knew better and should have replaced all the belts at same time.
Are the AFR in 7s? Is it scaled different for the E98? Awesome machine!
Maybe, probably just me, but I can hear the difference in the machining of the heat/stress relief block as opposed to when it was soft. You should be able to hear a difference in person. Love this channel. My favorite motor builder.
Are hub dynos usually more or less generous than roller dynos?
In my opinion one F series procharger would make 1000 easier with a lot less routing issues.price wouldn’t be that far off how is the pcv catch can
It's all good until the stringy bits exit the engine bay..😂😂
Golf ball through a garden hose. 😂Lol
At least the belts are consistent, when one goes the other is right behind it
how long does it take to mill out a block not counting heat treat
Would timing help the torque any??!!!
12:15 AND OTHER THING EVERYONE DOESNT CARE ABOUT IS ALTERNATOR PULLEY NEEDS TO BE 4 INCH DIANETER
I want this car so damn bad!! Fingers crossed 🤞
Isn't there spring pressure on those blow off valves? I dont know but i hear reference to spring pressure by racers.
They can be run with or without the spring. The advantage of having a spring is that you don’t have to always have the CO2 (or compressed air) always on just to drive the car to the gas station. If the car is a dedicated race car you really don’t need any springs in the gate(s).
Good job Steve.
Great content thanks for sharing
Sugar Momma is a beast, so sick!
My type car I can drive to work or the track . Love it
Good to see you ripped those drawstrings out of your hoodie, Steve.
How long does it take to machine the rough in and then to do the finish machining
Just curious as to why you're not running a green silicon belt... instead of that Gates style belt.
Gonna switch I think
Cost for one thing.
. There shouldn't be any "cost" issues with Steve Morris!
If you mounted those superchargers opposite of each other, could they counteract each other on the crankshaft? Instead of having them both pulling up on the crank?
Interesting point.
Fun fact.... Just place a heavy wet towel on top of that billet and it will deaden all that noise ...(All about acoustics) .. 😎😎😎
you have to cup the wastegate while you suck the valve.
Yes snow Montréal Canada 15 to 20 cm ... 7to8 inches sugar mama 🎉🎉🎉 more than enough to get ice cream ❤🤍💙
Is there ventilation behind that car?
Any cons on using ignition cut for cool flames on rev limiter before shifting a manual car?
I don’t think so 🤔
Love the build! But I gotta say I'd be a little bit worried about those intakes facing the exhaust manifolds, thats gotta be killing hp numbers a bit
It does yes
@@stevemorrisracing any plans to change it?
You wouldnt think, but i wonder if the bell mouths caused it to pull more air from the header area somehow. Im guessing he had no way to monitor inlet outlet temps. I wouldve made another pull without them to rule that out.
Steve, how come you don’t put a ducted fan across the front of the car when you do these runs?
It’s not needed, this isn’t a product he’s shipping out for people to just plug into their pickup. all the final tuning will be done on the track where it actually counts. Dynos are only to get a good baseline so you’re not wasting limited track time, not for finished work.
@@jaydunbar7538 I asked Steve why he doesn’t. I’m looking for his answer.
I hope that when you go to put together the new sugar momma you give it the absolute best that Steve Morris engines has to offer in every detail, anything less just wouldn't be right for mama or her new ride
Do you have a scratch and dent deal for @trailmater so he can win against cleetus?
Note that this setup has a belt per blower where as a past car ( Camaro ? ) had one belt running both blowers. This single belt caused the input shaft of the driver side blower to break because of the added tension of the passenger side blower.
wouldn't that car benefit greatly with a nice intercooler ?
I was wondering about the intercooler situation myself. They are running e98 but why not an intercooler?
