Thanks for the strat! I broke through to Wave 40 for the first time with a crazy high roll of items, ending with 300 HP, nearly 50% lifesteal, 200% Attack speed and double bounce and pierce. I messed up by getting bloody hand which was overkill and nullified my Tardigrade, but boy oh boy was my potato shooting shurikens out like a ninja.
A very simple but effective strategy to deal with high speed to walk in tight zig zags or small loops, or even just "vibrate" in place if you are happy staying in the spot where you are currently and aren't looking to run into anything. In extreme cases with truly ludicrious speeds vibrating with a bias in one direction may be the only way to move anywhere in a controlled manner.
Yeah, that's definitely a useful strategy. Easier to execute with analog controls though - with a keyboard whenever you switch directions there's a brief moment where you're standing still and take the -armor. Not a long one but can be a risk
WOOOO!! GG just completed my run on danger 5 same time you did in the video! Thanks Ceph! I try to follow most of your guides while i play at the same time I'm very appreciative to have found your channel.
Interesting to see your weapon choice- I had a really fun time with the jousting lance, was one of my easiest danger 5 runs so far thanks to the cursed power generator I found. Stacking a lot of attack speed helps as well with such a slow weapon of course.
I think the greatest item I found with this character was the one that caps your speed. Can still invest in speed but the actual movement speed on the screen is more normal.
What I find interesting, is when I play normal characters, I find myself often going negative speed. Though I do enjoy playing with the Custom Difficulty mod and playing no-hit, and so I'm pretty confident in my ability to just dodge, hence why I think I don't mind whether my speed is high or low (also why I do things like select Weird Ghost, no matter the next wave too). But because you always enjoy adding more speed into builds, I was surprised you didn't go all in on speed with this one. Whereas, this is probably my favourite character, where I love going all in on speed, and zooming around with 150+ speed. I think though it comes down to spatial awareness, more than reaction speed. I play a lot of rhythm games, and racing games. And in both instance, where always wanna watch where you are going, not where you are, and I do the same when I play Brotato, so I don't know if that's what makes the difference, or not, but just something I know about my own gameplay.
It is - but it scales off of melee damage! You can see it has the melee damage icon rather than the ranged in its damage calculation. It's one of the weirder weapons because of that.
It's funny how the game kinda pushes you towards Lance on that build and it ends up being a really bad gameplay. Just finished it with 0/4 bosses killed. It's practically stacking 60% dodge and running away.
Please tell me you record like 10 runs for eaxh guide you post, because the amount of luck you have in finding key items is just insane. A hunting trophy after wave 5 while having negative luck is ridiculous
This run is another example of a loot alien spawning at 5:21 that you didn't kill on wave 3, then another loot alien spawning on the next wave (4) at 6:44 so I don't know, I think it might be a thing. Rolling past a t2 shuriken at 28:10 was sad. At least with 5xbaby gecko you're also getting +50 range which Sifd's Relic doesn't provide, although 5xBG is probably more expensive in the grand scheme of things. Nice run, I usually go jousting lance like you mentioned at the start with Speedy. I try to build up attack speed to counter the slow base speed of attack of the weapon. I don't think I've ever tried shuriken, I'll have to give it a try. I find them to "feel" weak whenever I play them so it's not a weapon I gravitate towards. Love me some Speedy!
Haha, woops. I guess I just didn't see the weapon. The worst thing about multiple geckos is you then have to pass on sifd's if you find it when you have like 3 geckos, and then you might never find the other two!

Glad I'm not the only one who regularly misses stuff in the shop. When you passed on the first Shuriken in Wave 15 shop, I was like, THAT'S ME!
Happens to everyone! Anyone who claims it doesn't is 100% lying :P
I've been watching nearly all ur walktroughs. It helped me so much to learn about the game and to get better at it. Thank you so much
Thanks so much, these have been helpful for the ones i have yet to finish and through you i am understanding the stats and such much better

34:57 this is the info I've been needing! Thank you!
Found you a few days ago and been really enjoying your brotato vids since. Keep on with the awesome work :D
Thanks!

This is cool because i struggled with this character a lot but this video came out legit a day after i finally beat the character xD, timing lol
Nice! Great timing
I died with Speedy more than any other and this video definitely helped. Thanks!
thank you very much for explanation of the logic of the game... your game play is amzaing everyting makes more sense for me :)
Thanks so much! Glad it helped! :D

yep honestly a key item here, otherwise it just gets out of hand to the point that I can't even dodge stuff anymore or line up attacks
Good call! I should definitely have mentioned that. I always forget you can cap a stat and still benefit from secondary effects of that stat
Love the build. I kept failing with jousting lance. I’ll try Shurikens next. Ps: great vids, narration, etc.
Thanks very much - good luck!
Love ur vidz. Only new to Brotato, but uve been a great help

Sorry if I'm just dumb but isnt Shuriken a ranged weapon?

@@Cephalopocalypse thank you for the immediate explaination!!
@@Cephalopocalypse Should you also build up ranged damage?

@@Cephalopocalypsehello can you make a screwdrivers guide and what's the best character for it?
thank for your content
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it!

I've been stuck on speedy and the lance is probably the reason
Breezed thru this tater after your video. Thx for the assist.

Haha nope - I didn't even do a practice run before this one like I normally do. I *did* record it slightly drunk though so maybe that's the secret

What the? I took the stone skin on speedy, and its just 'weird alien' at home. I start with 1hp every wave after.
thank you!
28:05 it pains me to see you skipping shurikens ))
Haha I always play speedy with Shruiken. It’s a perfect combo.
woops!!
Well that was speedy
Doing my best to make Sonic proud out here
I got to wave 20 and died...
Ah dang - next time! Good luck!
