Join Captain Katarn on an epic campaign through Star Wars: Rebellion (known outside the USA as Star Wars: Supremacy) as he shows you this Lucas Arts Star Wars classic.
Star Wars: Rebellion is a strategy game that encompasses missions, espionage, invasion and galactic battles. Lead the Empire or the Rebel Alliance to victory as you win popular support and end the enemy's stranglehold on the galaxy.
Today we will be playing as the Galactic Empire as we attempt to crush the rebellion following the destruction of the first Death Star. The game leans heavily on Star Wars Legends EU featuring specifically characters from the Thrawn Trilogy such as Grand Admiral Thrawn, Talon Karrde, and Gilad Pellaeon.

All sarcasm aside, the graphics look dang spiffy for the tech it was built for.
I've always loved that game. Today it wouldn't even be considered 'retro' if someone tried to launch it as an indie project but at the time that looked amazing and was really awesome. I mean that was one of the only ways I could hear the Star Wars score back in 1998.
I love the game, but the 3d graphics were outdated and bordering on laughable even on release date. The "main board" aesthetic though is solid, I can't deny.

I'm curious - how were you able to record the game? I tried with OBS Studio and the game becomes a tiny 640x480 rectangle within a 1920x1080 video canvas.
You are building isds way too early. Dreadnoughts will do fine for its the best the rebellion can field right now. A vsd is also fine. Wait until 8 shipyards to start building imps
I like to build ISD's at the beginning because by the time they are ready to go we've got the diplomacy situation taken care of and all of a sudden we're crushing for the rebels who can't beat us early on anyway.
@@IntrepidDawn but mot really needed. Heck the game os nolonger challenging to me because the formula.to beat the ai is way to easy
I used to play as the rebellion and my strategy was simple. Avoid head to head combat as much as I could. I had a special task force who's only job was to go to the economically valuable systems that did not have a fleet guarding it and destroy everything there. I never tried to conquer the planet because it was a double edge sword. The Empire lost the revenue from that system and they would have to spend revenue to try and build it back up. Pretty soon the Empire would have major economic difficulties which would weaken their military down to a point where I could take them on head to head and beat them.

Biggest problem is difficulty. Even on hard its easy to win the core

I had nostalgia thoughts about this game for awhile, So i just aquired it on steam, and it works great.
My all time favorite computer game. Played this for many hours.
I have a question, if anyone can answer it.
Long ago, back in late 90's, I used to play this game quite a bit, but something strange happened which was not on purpose. One day, logging in, every Star Destroyer, Death Star and more, cost like 3 maintenance points to build and only 3 days to build. Well, I took advantage of this, and ended up with like 20 death stars and over 1000 Star Destroyers with fighters.
I am still curious on how this could have happened, and wonder if anyone has any clues?

Perhaps a read error on your harddrive, game loads ship info maintenence/cost ect when you load your game

I just got this on GOG it looks like a ton of fun but my GOD does it look complicated Ugh :/
actually its pretty straight forward.
You have these main jobs:
Send dudes on missions. (tip: spy a lot)
Build buildings and units.
Research via missions.
Grab ressources to fuel your economy. need mines for raw mats, and refinerys to make em into usable mats. always strive for zero raw mat overflow.
