The drug industry does seem to control the FDA. Doesn’t the FDA deem supplements illegal when they could be turned into profitable drugs? Or compete with profitable drugs?

If, as some expect, RFK jr is made HHS Secretary, then we have an active supplement taking longevity ally in charge. He's already connected to people our members have been in contact with.
While I have very sympathetic on the NMN issue I do wish this was not so lopsided a discussion on the FDA generally. The FDA is like an industry cop and just because cops do bad things does not mean we should get rid of cops. I like to hear an attempt to steel man the the arguments of the other side. I tend to be persuaded if someone can accurately articulate the position of the side they are arguing against.
Consider that Dr Fabricant used to work at the FDA under Obama and was head of their supplements programs, so he knows the inner workings of that agency well.
I do appreciate this interview and your coverage. I am irritated at the FDA's actions on this issue. My positive impressions of the FDA started from reading a book on the fight the FDA waged against the tobacco industry called A Question of Intent. It really opened my eyes on how regulation happens. I have also read articles about the meat industry and it's push against regulation.
