I wish I could declutter and pack from a cozy spot on the bed without actually touching anything.
I'm sure in this instance it was a good thing for her to sit and have piles put around her so she could SEE how much stuff there was. And after that, one piece at a time- it's easier to have someone else hold it up and look to give a quick yes or no.

@@BeppyCat Ditto! This is my dream declutter scenario. I've had a friend actually help me do this when I was pregnant. I was more replying to Lisa's comment that she didn't care to see Freddie not helping. :)
@@VanillaJoy1567 well, I too would have liked to see her be more actively involved in taking responsibility for her belongings, but I'm sure it was a long day, and they WERE there to help, so I don't blame her too much.
Everything is easier with encouragement and other people pitching in. But yeah, most of us cannot afford to hire a decluttering coach to spend a whole day pushing us to get it done, and don't necessarily have a whole group of friends available to do the same.
Having recently moved myself, I am envious of the amount of lounging Fred was able to do during her move.

I had too many clothes as well, till the shelving unit actually broke. That forced me to take out all my stuff, donate/sell away clothes I don't want, and reorganise my closet. It's been a year and still looking neat. :D

When you’re packing fragile stuff like glasses use blankets and towels to wrap them instead of bubble wrap, saves money and is easier.

When I moved the movers told me not to take any clothes out of my dresser that they would just carry it in with the cloths in it. Saved a lot of boxes and time going through cloths

I moved a couple years ago and watched Simon and Martina's moving videos. They lived in Korea and now live in Japan and I got a lot of good tips there as well as Cole and Marmalade for moving with pets.

Oh god I totally get how Freddie feels! I am in the exact same situation, only I am packing up 4 years of my life in China, temporarily moving home to India and then moving to a totally new country... And having a baby in between all of that!! My husband and I moved into this apartment with 47 boxes and are leaving with just 15. It's been a month long saga of what is worth shipping back home and what we're donating. I've given away tons of clothes and shoes and bags and my entire kitchen! It is really very overwhelming at times. Doesn't help that I'm 6 months pregnant and super emotional about everything.
Been cleaning my house for the past 2 hours and decided to take a break. Now I'm watching this. 😂 I can't escape!

I love moving so so much. Its so nice to declutter, throw out old stuff, clean everything, and pack it all up. The best part is unpacking because you get to throw out more and reorganize exactly how you want and make it nice and cozy
