wow so they do actually change our spec from time to time!
Even if the new talent is more valuable than spirit of the crane... the fantasy of "i'm runing low on mana, let me kick the teeth out of enemies to get some" was something i absolutely enjoyed doing. But i guess drinking some warm tea while invoking my inner uncle Iroh wont be so bad
Cool breakdown. Good work.
Such a calming voice.
This change is great, you don't know the satisfaction of reaching a boos and having the tank ask you if you need mana and saying no, and being full of mana
me still using lifecycles like its legion mistweaver
I think they need to pair a healing increase on the stacks you drink as well to everything it has... make it more interesting game play.. so more thought on when to drink rather than just downtime.
I think this new mana tea is better than old mana tea, i just dont understand the slow component of the ability it seems so arbitrary.
Try drinking while running
@@Spyger279 Try fighting dragons in caves with lava, oh wait
Having the mana regen and mana % reduction together I am unsure of. On the one hand it makes it a flexible spell which is cool. But on the other hand it can be conflicting because I am not sure if I am meant to use when there is no healing to do (for regen) and when there is lots to do (mana % reduction). My worry is it feels "ok" in each scenario but wont ever feel fully utilized
Great stuff! Wish they wouldn't add the movement slow with mana tea, seems redundant. But I do prefer just healing more over having to DPS as a healer, so maybe these changes will help out witht hat a bit.
I use your Detox, Vivify, RenM, Sheilun's Gift WA and was wondering if there was a way to add TFT onto it as well.
hey megan, thanks for the video! What do you think about the possibility of activating soulfang vitality on demand with only a 0.25 sec channel? is this interaction going to have an impact? It looks pretty strong to me, especially in m+
You can definitely tap it to activate your tier!
Yeah i like the manatea change, its more interesting than the current one
2 questions: Does Tiger's Lust etc. before using Mana Tea affect the 40% slow? And if you have say 10 stacks but only want to channel 5, do you need a stopcasting macro or do you have to fake a Vivify etc. to cancel the channel early?
Tiger's Lust only removes movement impairing effects on application (which would interrupt our Mana Tea cast), however Chi-ji prevents application of movement impairing effects it does not get rid of the slow portion of Mana Tea. When it comes to the channel you can make a stopcasting macro or you can use a different ability to stop the channel, either works it's just preference
Do you mainly go with shaolins lesson rather than veil of pride?
How does it feel in actual gameplay without energizing brew? Fast enough? Mostly wondering because of the talent setup currently if energizing brew will feel necessary or not and if so, would you rather get rid of the extra Zen pulse talent or the bubble giving ReM and Enveloping? I've come to really like both, would love if we got the bubble giving both hots baseline.
It feels "fine" but without Energizing I'd definitely be more tempted to use it going from pack to pack rather than mid combat. This is my plan currently, but you can drop whichever one and the impact is minimal. Echoing Reverb will just give more damage: www.wowhead.com/ptr/talent-calc/monk/mistweaver/DAAAOVVVAVFkUVRgBQFEFABE
@@Megasett Right on! Lines up with what I was thinking so thank you for the reinforcement. Great video, thank you for breaking down the actual mana returns from Spirit of the Crane. Excited to play with this version of mana tea since I only first touched the spec in Legion, when MW was perfect (satire).
Is there a haste cap for Mistweaver? Wasn't sure if I should go over 30%
Usually as much haste as you can get but you can use QELive to get a better answer tailored to what gear you have
@@Megasettoh holy crap, I did not know about QELive. Thank you!
I only 16 but and I fistweave and I’m not having to much trouble with mana . Is this build more for caster type mistweaving ?
I mentioned in the video but we have a lot of external mana right now because of our tier set and Rashok's trinket. It's much more useful in raid but it will become more noticeable in M+ next tier as well
@@Megasett ok Ty , keep the the good work with your content .
Can u play cast weaver in m+ or is the normal fist weaver build better ? Including the mana tea rework
I think I answered you on stream last night but if I didn't: I'd never recommend playing the casting build in M+ because you lose so much damage and fluidity from the spec when the normal build is more efficient with higher, more consistent throughput. It does require a little bit of practice but is overall better
@@Megasett alrighty thanks Meg 👍 love your videos btw :)
Is it just me, or does Meg sound happy in this video to finally not get MW nerfs?
I touched a lot of grass between this video and the last
Still waiting for mw monk to get a proper overhaul similar to hpal overwork.
I'm under the impression all healers will be getting a refresh
idk if im a fan of it being a channeled i dont like is that you have to prre cast it befor you ramp insted of doing it in the mana dump of the ramp and that just reads akword af to play around imo
Pally is for sure top 3 if not 2 healer atm, so I would gear that one up if I was you :P
I play the thunderous upwelling build, will this work with it?
whatever your little heart desires
I have a big heart. Thank You Very Much. Stay brainwashed
The only problem with adding a haste component to mana tea is that you are already consuming one stack every half a second. I think that may already be the fastest player interaction in the game. Plus why would you take Energizing Brew if haste affected Mana Tea.
I don't really care if it's the fastest player interaction in the game, make it faster. Energizing still gives an additional 20% mana in addition to the speed
Or just play hpally and win
I can win on MW
@@Megasettno one else can 😢
My only issue is that it has a 2 min cd. I feel like its going to be mandatory in raid now to empty your mana bar a few times before pulling a boss so that you will be able to use the pre-boss prep to go from empty to full on one global. I have never been a fan of the pre boss prep shenanigans that occasionally happens in the game.
There is actually no CD on this, it's use is dependent on how fast you use mana and you are not by any means required to do the degenerate pre-pull stuff (which I am also not a fan of)
im so fucj druiubnk tright man holy shit
tp myuch mana tea kek
Honestly i think the mana tea talent is kinda stupid. Why would you replace something passive with something you have to both track and channel? I think we already have enough buttons we need to press and things we need to track. I wish they would have just reworked spirit of the crane a bit so it would be useful for both playstyles.
The passive ability was returning a negligible amount of mana in raid and in keys it became cumbersome to try to squeeze out any ounce of mana at the cost of damage. With the new ability we will be gaining back reasonable amounts of mana without having to sacrifice damage for it.
I love mistweaver but hate fistweaving. Hope they gonna change it sometime.
With the exception of the slow on the channeling of the spell and kinda overcomplicating things for our class as if we didn't have enough already (not that i personally have an issue with that it's just more like a nuance at this point) even more for no good reason they could still give a player the option to use Spirit of the Crane instead as a node choice and just buff it to compete, didn't they said how DF's design especially in the talent tree department, is all about having options yet as you will understand from what i am saying below, they seem like they keep them away(this isn't about SotC anymore)?
Yeah, half a year later and this seems like it's getting less and less of a thing, our options in the talent tree are constantly keep getting narrower and less meaningful with some being right down not a viable option in most types of content instead, becoming a niche.
Single example (even though there are plenty in our talent tree), given 10.1.7 tree, they really need to swap the position of Yu'lon's Whisper with Chrysalis/Burst of Life or with Nourishing Chi/Calming Coalescence because they now force you to take one of them in order to get Chrysalis/Burst of Life or take other talents which don't make sense in some M+ dungeons which sucks so much because it's wasting talents on things we don't or won't be needing in most cases especially for Chrysalis itself which is literally the most picked i guess because it's so often needed in contrast with the rest mentioned.
Generally speaking, our talent tree, in terms of positioning of talents is probably one of the worst talent trees in that regard, Blizz somehow managed to make the tree to only have a cookie-cutter build for some trash pack or boss in x M+ dungeon, meaning, example, if you pick some talent to overcome a specific challenge which may seem to fit perfectly in lets say Freehold's xtrash pack or whatever dungeon x trash pack, you automatically lose that point of talent for the rest of the dungeon's content and your performance against it is now very subpar because you could pick another talent to be able to overcome the challenge in a decent way but hey, no you can't for that reason alone and for another one.
They said they wanted people to swap talents all the time yet they go ahead and do things like this + they don't even allow people to change talents in M+ so this is like mockery to the players and their promise of design.
I can literally take 2-3 hours of my personal time to reposition a number of talents in our class tree without changing anything in the talents themselves at all yet make it way more fun and with options which, not only are actually allow room for more flexibility in regards to viable choices now allowed but also, an equally important thing, to be able to make better talent combinations so it's also more suitable thus viable for more types of content which you now pick yourself and not Blizz and at the same time, expanding its capabilities, but Blizz somehow, "can't" or to be more precise, actually, wont.
I am not confident i am able to do this like any random average player would ignorantly be just because i have an opinion, but rather because i was involved with many similar (conceptually) and successful projects in the past.
Don't mind the change at all however, Mana ...Really? Why can't we just have fun and powerful changes. Mana is so not very cool at all. Can you imagine all the healers rushing to play Mistweaver because of Mana Tea lol.
Mana is part of what makes us powerful, we're one of the healers who can demolish our mana pool in return for tons & tons of healing, that's part of why our current tier set is so strong
yeah and I don't think we need it, mana is almost never an issue in m+
This change is not exclusive to m+, though in DF I agree it has been a nonissue in keys
@@zka77 they are designing next tier set and next raid, this talent is designed to address what is going to happen next patch
think ahead
@@Megasett I can agree with this somewhat. If you're having to channel and spam Env/Viv while playing Wack a mole with health bars than yes. I don't raid, so I can only speak on M+ and as you know we don't channel and spam those ability's and if we do were playing wrong, so mana is not our issue. Anyway, love your content and thanks for your reply.
