The parents understand that they need to teach the kids survival skills in a functioning 1st world country that means getting a skill and education and going out into the workforce so that you can earn a living have a family and have children and be safe and secure but in an apocalyptic world or 3rd world country the only thing that matters is you know how to find food water and shelter because one day those kids are gonna grow up and have to live on their own 1 day the parents will die so yes who the h*** cares about all your money and computers and your little toys when the only thing that matters is food and water
Collecting recyclables is considered child labor? I ran errands for people as a kid. That is how I got money for the pool and skating rink. That was child labor? Sometimes my money went into food. My working helped the family out but providing for myself. When I was 12 I babysat and cleaned houses. Was that child labor? I bought my own clothes and paid for my sports fees. It helped the family out.
So you worked for extra money for clothes you wanted and sports fees, these children are working to put food on the table. I did errands for people and was paid as a kid, but I still went to school. Apples and oranges...
@@amywells4205 Your right about comparing apples to oranges. Just because the US has child labor laws doesn't mean other countries have to have them. You do not need a degree to cook. You do not need a degree to watch children. You do not need a degree for janitorial positions. You don't need a degree to be a secretary. You don't even need a degree to be an accountant. Why are so many US citizens educated? The longer they are out of the work force the better the economy is. Elementary school teachers are getting their doctorates degree because of all the required continuing education they have to take. They want to be paid for that doctorates degree but community members can't afford them. We have adults taking over the lawn mowing and snow removal businesses. We have adults taking over the running errand businesses. We have Central and South Americans with no degrees picking crops in the US because US citizens want to be paid by the hour and not the bushel. US citizens aren't able to pick crops in the US because of the laws we live under. Foreign students find work in the US. Under the table work because they don't have permission to work here. Business owners scoop them up because they don't have to pay benefits. They are practically free labor. Adults in the US deliver newspapers now. There are no jobs for young people to learn the value of a dollar. Adults collect recyclables in the US. We can claim it is because of child labor laws but let us be real. There are not enough jobs in the US and children need a permit to sell lemonade or night crawlers. Adults even comb golf courses to resale balls the way young people used to.
Poverty, homelessness, family violence, and the digital divide-chasm are global issues; existing in the USA as well the ‘developing world’. The same is true for education /academics. 📚 📝 🧮
Who could have seen this coming, said no one ever.... This is a clear cut sign of the ever present void left by America's once provide stance on the world.
If I take care of my younger siblings, clean the house and provide meals for the family while my parents work, is that child labor? Is it really child labor picking up and stacking wood for the winter? Is it child labor to collect eggs for the family? Child labor seems to have been going on for centuries. How can I sue my parents? I have had to snap beans and pod peas. I have had to pick rocks out of the garden. I had to pick up fruit that dropped from the trees. I was forced to wash dishes after the family meal. Has it ever occurred to people child labor definitions is the reason young people do not perform well in the work place?
I do not have money. What shall I do?
Step 1: make children
Step 2: ???

Why write off the children? They can still become successful if institutions and employers gave them a chance. Going to school isn't everything
