My eyes filled with tears! What a touching story! I know the feeling. I lost the woman who was to be my wife in 1989 to a drunk driver. I only wish that I had a recording of her voice. At least I have a picture of her that I look at every day.
yiyodder Ah that’s great to hear! I knew she received a tape, as is seen in the end of the film, but I wasn’t aware that they reinstated his voice at Embankment.
"It is not death most people are afraid of. It is getting to the end of life, only to realize that you never truly lived. You know I learned a fact about airplanes the other day. This was - this was so surprising to see, I was talking to a pilot and he told me that many of his passengers think planes are dangerous to fly in. But he said actually, it is a lot more dangerous for a plane to stay on the ground. I say what? Like how does that sound what he said, he said because on the ground. The plane starts to rust. Malfunction and wear, much faster than it ever would if it was in the air. As I walked away I thought, yeah, makes total sense because planes were built to live in the skies. And every person was built to live out the dream they have inside and love."
In 1983 as a 10 year old, I told my Mum that I "felt sorry for the guy who has to say 'Mind the gap' every time a train pulls in". She's never let me forget it.
This is a really well made film based on a true story. The actual station was Embankment and not Ladbroke Grove. You can still hear Oswald Laurence's announcement after it was reinstated by TfL. Ladbroke grove has straight platforms but the Northern Line at Embankment is on a very sharp curve where there is a huge gap between the intermediate doors and the platform, enough for a slight person or child to fall through. There is a BBC article about this. www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-21719848
Please Mind the gab between the train and the Plattform this is Bank change here for the Circle District Northern and Waterloo and City lines and the DLR . This is a Central line train to Epping
No, que triste el no procesar las pérdidas para poder seguir disfrutando la vida. Es como mantener una herida abierta y no permitir que cicatrice.... A él le gustaría verla así?
The original announcement would still appear to be used at Embankment ruclips.net/video/_WpC2pnaAWI/видео.html filmed 8th October 2015. This film may have been made in the gap before reinstatement. Still a good film.
Moral of the story: If only her husband had been paid more for his recording, she could afford to pay the Tube fares to go somewhere instead of sitting at the station all day. 😁
Dear Ana, I'm the head of Fanpage visual storytelling team. Fanpage is an italian online newspaper facebook.com/fanpage.it/). I just wanted to congratulate you for your film. I would like to achieve a videostory in Italian language about Margaret McCollum heartbreaking story , for our Facebook and RUclips channels, because I think it could be interesting for all our readers. That's why I'm asking your permission to use your film in our editing, crediting you. Let me know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance. Best regards.

Çok üzüldüm. :(
Oswald is now the permanent voice at Embankment . TFL done this for his wife after talking to her and made a copy for her to listen at home.

@@AnaStanojevic Yes it could be her local tube station , anyway it was a nice gesture from TFL .
