To fix your postseason problem where the division winners have a week off or so, I have a part solution. I'm not 100% sure if this would work but this could work for any duration of the bracket, past the wildcard round until the world series. Basically just play the games against who you can play, or who has moved on already. If there's 2 different series going on, example a game 5/6/7 being played and also a game 1 in the next round, on the same day even. So those teams don't have layoffs. So things don't get out of hand, The teams that are still in the earlier rounds can have less days off, even travel day play if that's the cost of it, and the teams that are already ahead in rounds can have more days off even if its 2 games in the same city, have a day or 2 break. This keeps momentum going for not just the players, coaches, and staff, but most importantly the fans that keep the game alive and flourishing. It also may add a dynamic into the post season no one has ever seen before. 2 different rounds at the same time. Might just be different leagues if that's how it works out but you never know in the game of baseball. :)
