Kinda did, he only replaced himself with like 2 episodes left. Plus the robot said himself he only increased his sincerity by like 20% so anything the robot did Rick can grow to do as well
Quick question: When Rick accidentally reset all the portal travelers, he seemed to instantly know what was going on. If he knew where Prime Rick’s original universe was, then couldn’t he have specifically reset all portal travelers from that universe a long time ago? So that Prime Rick would pop up right in front of him?
Its simple without portal travel messed up he knew Rick Prime could just bounce, while knowing somebody knew how to do that and could thus take precautions in the future, its quite clear Rick Prime hadn't figured that part out yet himself, else he wouldn't have been asking himself why he was back in his home dimension. This also explains why Rick was dragging his feet on fixing the Rift, realizing it was far more a hinderance to Rick Prime staying hidden.
If u watched the full episode it was bc Rick had an unresolved fortune that can only be broken by him “gaining a friend”. An unresolved fortune makes him 100% immortal btw. So when he said “thanks, friend” he just broke Ricks near-godly immortality. So it hits even deeper when you realize he still apologized for hitting him after that, season 1 Rick would’ve just ray-gunned him and then teleported to an identical universe where he didn’t ray-gun Jerry. Also he puts the fortune back in his pocket after that, so cute. 🥹
When I first watched the dinosaur episode the graph between the dinos and meteors reminded me of how Rick's intelligence was counterbalanced by Morty. Allowing Rick to be hidden by Morty. I think the Dinosaurs were smarter than Rick because they are outside of the infinite curve. Because they are outside of the curve now there can be things smarter than Rick. And just like Rick has Morty the meteor shower that the higher intelligence means that something has to counter balance it.
Interesting theory. A bit of a stretch, but an interesting theory none the less. Here's a bit of theory fodder for you: Ever notice how Rick lied about the fortune cookies? His launchers hold 7 cookies per shoulder for a total of 14 cookies. But, he only uses 12. This means that he still has 2 blank fortune cookies. Also, he berated Jerry about the "Friend" fortune, but he still has at least 1 unresolved fortune. We only get to see a part of it, but it says something about his crush calling. Could this mean that we will see Unity show up again or will this be another one-off joke? Or, could Rick actively keep himself from falling in love so that he would be immortal when he eventually fights Rick Prime? He has 2 blank fortunes to help him guarantee that both himself and Morty can get through the encounter.
Kind of hilarious how wrong this ended up being. Instead of a diametrically opposed Rick that kills prime, its a morty that ended up there by happenstance whose motive was his own continued survival.
I know you get a lot of crap for some of your theories that don’t pan out, so just wanna give you props for nailing themes of the first half of this season and for mostly being very spot on with all of your Rick and Morty theories
I'm confident that by the time the series ends, it will end in a way that leaves you feeling like none of it mattered at all. Which it didn't. This is going to make some fans very angry or sad or confused, and I kind of think that's the point. The creators see that so many people WANT the show to mean something, have heart, and leave some sort of legacy in its wake, and that annoys them.
The Rick we know said no to inter-dimensional travel to be with his wife and daughter. He said no because he’s the Rick that cares. Even after everything he’s been through, he still cares, no matter how hard he tries to deny it. That’s why he constantly over-explains why nothing matters. It’s almost like he’s trying to convince himself not to care, but he can’t bring himself to let go. Caring is a fundamental part of who he is.
I'd also like to point out that before Rick Prime kills Rick's family, he makes active note the our Rick's contentness is something that no other Rick has, as no other Rick would give up interdimensional travel for their current life. This means that Rick was already a counterbalance to Rick Prime, and will therefore return to that form of Rick at some point.
That makes way more sense than I thought. Love your theories, love rick and Morty and I definitely love it when you make theories about rick and morty. Thanks for the video.
i believe with the fortune cookie thing. when jerry calls rick a friend, and rick gets mad because it fulfilled his fortune he would make a friend and now he lost his quantum immortality. . the thing is that friendship is mutual. jerry calling rick "friend" doesn't automatically mean rick made a new friend. it only counts if rick truly considers jerry his friend. rick getting mad at jerry might be him lashing out because he finally had to admit it. he wasn't mad that he lost his invincibility. he was mad that he had to admit jerry was his friend.
People feel like the dinosaur fixing the rift was lazing writing and that that plot element went nowhere. But I actually think the rift is what helped Rick be kinder to his family in Season 6. He was confined and stripped of the option to swap families like in the Love Potion episode. If you notice, he just seems to be more present and hanging around the house more. He just seemed literally tied down without inter dimensional adventures and he probably started appreciating the “continuity” just like this video said.
This just made me realize, our Rick escaped to universe C-137 and posed as that universe's Rick. The Season 6 premiere proved that Rick Prime was originally from C-137. That means that when our Rick was arrested and identified himself as C-137, they thought he was Rick Prime. No wonder he had an insane list of crimes, plus he couldn't object to any because it might've blown his plans for finding Rick Prime.
I was not expecting my core beliefs and philosophy of ascribing meaning to whatever brings me joy and satisfaction, in the face of a completely arbitrary and uncaring universe, to come up in a Theory video.
If only Mat had waited one episode more in Rick and Morty season 6 he could've covered the most meta episode of Rick and Morty yet, Full MetaRick, Goddamn I wish y'all would make a video on Full MetaRick like you did for the storytrain

The whole episode was very interesting and I even watched all of your commercial, you've got really nice merch! I'll have to check the shop sometime. Hope you had a fantastic day and happy holidays
Rick really changed in this season, it's almost like he's a robot designed to be 22% more thoughtful
Love your film theory videos, especially rick and morty!Your theory’s are really interesting and always backed up with evidence

We definitely aren’t getting a new episode soon
3:09 10y old me torturing Chell in the Portal games:
1:21 this did NOT age well! and i love it!
Well up until at some point thru rickmancing the sword it was rick actually trying to be better.
Rick replaced himself in only episode 9 amd 10
Kinda did, he only replaced himself with like 2 episodes left. Plus the robot said himself he only increased his sincerity by like 20% so anything the robot did Rick can grow to do as well
@@walkingbush5764”20% right as usual, Morty” that was a robot lmao, not Rick, Rick didn’t actually experience the character development in ep 9-10.
“A man who has seen infinity”
“I showed you infinity!”
spot on prediction good sir
YES A RICK AND MORT EP
But no owl house
Quick question: When Rick accidentally reset all the portal travelers, he seemed to instantly know what was going on. If he knew where Prime Rick’s original universe was, then couldn’t he have specifically reset all portal travelers from that universe a long time ago? So that Prime Rick would pop up right in front of him?
Probably because the other ricks would still have their portal guns at that point, so they could still just portal out before this Rick would arrive.
2:43 I find this super hilarious-
If u watched the full episode it was bc Rick had an unresolved fortune that can only be broken by him “gaining a friend”.
5:27 my man dropped 2 serious questions and went back to rick and morty
i’ve always said “nothing matters, so anything can” and i was today years old when i learned theres a name for that mentality!
And just like Rick has Morty the meteor shower that the higher intelligence means that something has to counter balance it.
seeing Rick being more positive is better than Rick prime
edit: it gets you to wonder of what got Rick prime to even become that way
0:14 “no more….. fnaf” He really have gone insane
lmaooooo ‘haven’t been this right since…’ must’ve been a snack in the face when you learnt you were completely wrong this last ep 💀
I love how at 12:25 he starts saying Rick like 20 times per sentence and it still makes perfect sense
I'm so proud of our rick,
He has come so far
He's gotten worse. He's letting his shitty family take advantage of him. And to think that this guy once said "Think for yourselves don't be sheep".
4:17 Ha! Jokes on you, if i never subscribe, i'll be immortal

Whatever Rick Prime is Planning,it's going to Change the Series Forever other than this feels like the Season of Jerry.

Jerry getting b!tch slapped and saying it's fine is the most fuccing hilarious moment of all in my opinion
Dude, I need a theory of how the heck the Mike Tyson Mystery Team kept getting so many customers when they were so terrible at the job!
1:29 this is funny to me because how true it is
Mat pat, your description of nothing matters, so everything matters equally if you give it meaning, is inspiring and a great perspective
Not even 90 seconds in and this video has been more therapeutic for me than therapy. Thank you MatPat.
7:15 this reminds me of a quote. “Love is just a chemical, no matter the origin we give it meaning by choice”.
Interesting quote
It's funny that matpat said this since Dan Harmon admits that optimistic nihilism was always a major theme of the show.
Can you do one on how many different Jerry's they could've "gone thorugh"
I know you get a lot of crap for some of your theories that don’t pan out, so just wanna give you props for nailing themes of the first half of this season and for mostly being very spot on with all of your Rick and Morty theories
I'm confident that by the time the series ends, it will end in a way that leaves you feeling like none of it mattered at all. Which it didn't. This is going to make some fans very angry or sad or confused, and I kind of think that's the point. The creators see that so many people WANT the show to mean something, have heart, and leave some sort of legacy in its wake, and that annoys them.
Hey! Can we get a Ever After High Theory? I Love the show, it has a weird realm, some kinks in the story, and great characters! Would love to see it!
NO way, you know what that is? I thought I was the only one who watched that!
I am so looking forward to the rest of season 6!
read my name uwwuu
for someone whose seen season 7 (5 out so far) he's surprisingly accurate
You should the Dan back for another episode! Was great hearing him debate your theory ideas.
That makes way more sense than I thought. Love your theories, love rick and Morty and I definitely love it when you make theories about rick and morty. Thanks for the video.
🙂
I love the theorys from Matt, they really help me understand Rick and Morty better😅
Same
i believe with the fortune cookie thing. when jerry calls rick a friend, and rick gets mad because it fulfilled his fortune he would make a friend and now he lost his quantum immortality.
.
the thing is that friendship is mutual. jerry calling rick "friend" doesn't automatically mean rick made a new friend. it only counts if rick truly considers jerry his friend.
rick getting mad at jerry might be him lashing out because he finally had to admit it. he wasn't mad that he lost his invincibility. he was mad that he had to admit jerry was his friend.
Wow let's just appreciate the effort Matt puts in his videos
Uhhhh okay?

Thats a lot of bots
Yea good effort to take others theories :)

"Nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere, everybody's gonna, now come watch TV." Is a phenomenal quote.
