I bought this device a year ago. The functionality is very pleasing, the design is durable (but large). Everything works almost as it should, with the exception of some bugs related to Steps and the logic of the light in the footswitches. For example, if the light of current footswitch is turned off completely, the button stops functioning, even if CC actions are configured for it. I also want to note that there have been no firmware updates for a very long time (if there were, they didn’t bring anything new, and the bugs remained in place) In short, it’s a cool and flexible device, it’s hard to carry around, so it’s just always at my workplace

Can I change all the switches to be toggle switches in Ableton? It says on the box 1 through 10 available switches to use. I wanted to be able to use all 10 in my mini mapping but it only allows me to do 6! What the heck why?

HI, Anyone know if the Nektar Pacer will control the Boss Rc 505, allowing for Rec/Stop/Overdub/start for each track? i.e. One foot switch per Boss Rc 505 Track (with complete control). Apparently the Boss FCB1010 can do this but only by connecting or replacing a chip inside the Boss Hardware. Whereas the Roland FC-300 can achieve it all straight out of the box, or so I have read in forums (relating to the RC-505).
Hi, Mouse Meets The World. From everything I can tell from the manual of the RC505, the MIDI implementation is too limited to allow start and stop of each individual loop via an external multi-switch. It is really more intended to be a tabletop unit. Cody Kraus, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1766, cody_kraus@sweetwater.com
@@iroelperez They both seem to have similar capabilities, the nektar is a much more recent/newer product, the Boss is likely to have a higher build quality. Amazon has some good reviews on both. Pro and cons to both pedals/midi controllers. It depends on what you want to use it for . Boss has expression pedals already built in. The nektar can probably accept external expression pedals. The nektar is cheaper. The Boss looks like it is more durable, maybe better suited for live gigs and travelling.. I have not used either. So I can only base my answer on other people's reviews and the product descriptions given on the websites of the manufacturers.. Midi 2.0 has just been released/invented. Would be worth considering if that is something you require and if either one of these products can be updated. Is one more future proof than the other..etc... Hi, thanks for your interest! The short answer is yes - Helix Native supports MIDI controllers, and the Pacer even has a preset for the Helix ecosystem that would work with the plug-in. The one potential catch is that using a MIDI controller to change setlists or presets only works with the AU or AAX formats of the Helix Native plug-in. You’d be able to control other parameters with the VST2 or VST3 format if that’s what you’re using. Hope this helps a bit - feel free to contact me directly with any further questions, and thanks again! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com
Hello! Though I haven't seen any testing done on iOS, this device is a USB class compliant MIDI controller, so depending on the app you're using, it should work on iOS. It will be able to send a MIDI CC or program change command from each button to trigger a note or a patch change in a virtual synth. If you'd like to go into more detail, please call my number below. Thanks for your interest! Nick LaMendola, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (260) 247-6613
Sweetwater I have a similar question. I’d love to use it with my favourite iOS looper which is called Group the Loop. The only options we’ve had up till now all seem to have issues.... The FCBFF 1010 is notoriously difficult to program. The Keith McMillan seems expensive for what it is and also difficult to program. The iRig blueboard is ultra portable but only has four buttons!!! Is there any chance you could test it with Group the Loop and maybe even do a video. I’m sure the developer would be overjoyed and would work with you to market the 2 products to musicians who use looper pedals. If Group the Loop works with this pedal...... we have a set up that is infinitely better than even the great RC303 loopstation!!

The Pacer has dedicated track and transport controls for MCU-compatible DAWs, including Ableton Live. In most cases, it won't require a whole lot of additional mapping or customizaiton. How "easy" it is will be depend a lot on what specifically you're looking to control, and how much experience you have with this type of device. If you have a second, give me a call at the number below; I'd be happy to help. Thanks for your interest! Hello, crazy-b! The Nektar Pacer sends general MIDI signals, so the Intergra 7 will certainly be able to be controlled by it. It will be a bit of a manual process setting up which controls correlate to which parameters on the Integra 7, but it is certainly possible. Hi, Ace! Hope your 2021 is off to a great start. That's a great question, and the answer really depends on what you have the Pacer connected to. The Pacer controller sends commands over MIDI, and how those commands are interpreted depends on the functionality and configuration of whichever device is receiving them. Off the top of my head, I don't know of any subwoofers or monitor controllers that use MIDI for bypass switching, but if you happen to have such an item, this would work for it.
