- The Nektar Pacer is a midi foot switch pedal board that can send midi messages to synths and keytars, as well as send midi messages and MMC track and transport commands to DAWs like Bitwig, Pro Tools, Garageband and Logic... but is it worth buying?
Sorry for the very specif question, but:: please, is it possible to change scenes on the Yamaha MODX+ with this controler?!
@thiagoborges892
The program change details are set out on page 187 and 188 of the modx data list (downloadable manual) but I don't have a modx so I can't tell how these program changes relate to sound patch changes or scene changes, as program changes appear to relate to presets.
Nice video!!! Do you think I can use the Pacer to start/stop Roland tr6s as well as change presets and variations?

Thanks 😀👍
Sadly no, the stop/start requires a System Real Time command and I am not able to get the Nektar Pacer to send System Real Time commands.
Can you make a tutorial on how to program assigning a Keytar sound on pedal 1 and another on pedal B?
@thephoenixchant
Hi, thanks for your suggestion, I am currently putting together a tutorial on how I use the Nektar Pacer to change sound patches and tones on my Ax Edge Keytar, so the tutorial will be available soon 😀👍
@@IbandUK That's great! It will be very useful, paired with cme widi wireless 😀👍🏻
Is the MIDI channel a global setting or per switch. In other words, can different foot switches send messages on different channels?
Glenn Poorman
Hi, both options are available... Each foot switch can be set to a different midi channel. Each foot switch has the option to be set to a midi channel (1 to 16) or to the global midi channel. The global channel is set in the main menu.
can i use it with my android phone?
@beenay18
Hi, while you can connect a Nektar Pacer to an android device (that supports midi over OTG) and my phone was able to power it... I don't actually know of any android apps that can use the capabilities of the Nektar Pacer.
Can it works only with usb? Without power supply?
@ARTEMIYNIK
It came with a USB cable but no power adapter, so when connected to my computer with the USB cable, it is powered by the USB cable/computer. When I connect it to my Roland mc101 with a midi din cable, I plug the USB cable into a portable power bank and it is powered by the power bank.
Does it work with Boss RC 5 loop pedal?
@buggimudang4362
I don't have a Boss RC5 so I can't say for sure but the CC messages and Program Change messages should work fine, as these are simple midi commands. Stop/Start commands will not work though, as Roland/Boss devices only accept these messages from midi devices with a tempo clock and the Pacer does not have a tempo clock.
Also you would need to get the right midi breakout cables for the RC5 (if you don't already have them) as the RC5 manual suggests that the USB port is just for backups/updates.
@@IbandUK Thank You for taking the time to reply.
It sends midi through usb. That is how i use it to control vsts.@@buggimudang4362
