Today we check out the 10 levels of sweep picking, from beginner to advanced - which level are you at? I personally love to use sweeping licks for my music and the technique has always been fascinating for me - hope you enjoy that one :)
Just wonderful, been searching for "alternate picking guitar lesson" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Ganyatty Guitar Gainify - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my work buddy got cool success with it.
@@WhiteCranK Me? I wrote chord songs from the circle of 5ths for 3 decades. I could sing and play a 3 hour show of original, enjoyable, but not very talented songs. A few years back, I began revivisting arpeggios and a few other bits, but then I fell back into getting nowhere. About 8 months ago, I began to obsessively learn theory and how to play solos. So for 8 months, I've actually been learning guitar rather than playing it (and it's a fantastic journey). I should have been at this point nearly 30 years ago, but better late than never!
After I had been playing for 4 yrs, I discovered arpeggios and it took me 2 yrs to feel comfortable playing them, it just keeps getting more and more advanced once you delve into arpeggios and you can’t practice them enough!
@@raxes32 well I’m just starting to learn sweep picking after playing guitar for four years. I reckon it will take me a few years to get decent at them.
Absolutely love how you got right into it in the video, deserves an upvote from everybody. This is that style of video we need more of, not 4 minute intros before getting to the topic in the title.
Absolutely Franco but it takes a lot of time - the most important thing is actually liking the sound of the fast rolling arpeggios, that was what motivated me to start my personal sweeping journey many years ago :) Still not there yet, there is always something you can improve!
I am playing guitar approximately 360 hours. I am on levl 8 now. 9 seems difficult. I think i made this progress fast cause I learn Symphony X riffs from the first day of guitar touching my hands. Now learning their solos. After first 200 hours I tried and actually learnt some Jason Beckers constructions (especially sweep picking)
Fantastic as always, Bernth. I have the first program you made, I can't wait to start on it. Even just watching you play, I feel like I learn something
I've been trying out several sweeping exercises for the past few months and haven't advanced too much. So I decided to give your course a try. Just finished Week One and I am looking forward to the upcoming weeks. The production is done very well and the downloadable guides are great.
The hardest ones have only 3 notes in each arpeggio-not the ones that cross all the strings. This is because with more notes in the arpeggios you don’t have to deal with the transitions such as position shifts as often.
Level 11: Jason Becker Level 12: Rob Marcello Level 13: Jeff Loomis Level 14: Jari Mäenpää Level 15: Rusty Cooley But my favorite it's Alexi Laiho forever..
Momentary I'm trying to get the Level 9, very hard to play it clean and accurate, but I'm looking forward to get there! Thanks four that video, it really helped me :)
I am between 5 and 6 somewhere.... 2021 comin' in hot. Might start making some progression videos so I can track myself over time. Also, thanks for the reminder to flip up my ascending/descending starts.
This is amazing!!! I’m trying to learn sweep and taps so incorporating both in one exercise is perfect for me!! Another great exercise !!! Good work bro!!🤘
Hi Bernth, that was short but sweet. I noticed some of the arpeggios that were in the previous lessons. I'm still working on them every day. My fingers are old and take some time to adapt them to the new lessons! But it's a work in progress! The key is just don't give up! Thank You Bernth for a new lesson, I can't wait to get back to It. Thanks Again See you soon, but not to soon. Todd P./USA
Wow, that's creepy - I swear I wasn't listening :) This one is a great example for barred arpeggios in my opinion, do you use a similar fingering for the section?

@@VeigarEUW Checked out the tab and as with many sweep patterns there is a easier way to play it to avoid over complicating it. For the first section I would do a standard Am arppegio starting on the 10th fret on the B string down to 8 - 12 -8 on the high E string backup to 10 (b) 9 (g) 10 (d) 12 (a) then 9 (g) 9 -12 - 9 (b) 9 (g) 9 (d) 11 (a) 12 (low e). Love the finish of that Giger-Ibanez. For me it would be perfect in a RG-body shape, but I think the rounded off edges are a better fit to the whole design. Nice playing as always Bernth! See myself somewhere before 9 and 10, but half a year ago I was 2 😄 Your course got me motivated. Mainly by its structure.
wawww !! ...., it is magic ...., the hardness of the pua (left hand) is important ....?, what number of hardness do you recommend for that speed ...? Gracias y un Saludo.
P.S. I like how you stretched your fingers before you went in to 10 level, thats funny. But it also reminded me to ask you, if you have any warn up, and stretching techniques you would share! Thanks
Awesome vid dude! Been meaning to beef up my sweeping techniques without using a broom, and I like how you break everything down here. Btw, that guitar is fucking cool! Are those lights on the neck? 🤘🏻
Mind if I ask, #8 was more melodic and "nice"... But when 9 hit it was more flurry of notes and less melody. Flurry of notes is a human metronome, songs have a point. How do you balance showing off with playing?

Bernth your technique is impeccable . Absolutely flawless! 🤘🤘🤘
I hear level 8 in Jason Becker's, and Malmsteen's playing often.
That's Paganini 24th caprices.. but yeah they are inspired of him and other classical artist
@Daniel_Otaku for real tho 😂
Mamlsteen is 10, Becker is 15 as my friend said

Just remember if you can't play it slow you won't be able to play it fast.
