The truth is, I would never could play like that. You're like a dream when you playing. And no matter how hard I try, to got a technique like yours...may be I'll just die in the way. I identify with all, I love play guitar and all of these can make me fly.
Yes! I would switch between them, too, if I could, lol! But I'm certainly influenced by almost all of those styles, so, I do sort of switch between them (in a way), when I'm improvising on guitar with a drummer or practicing alone.
The 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 can be awesome. I'm more of a shredder but there are still certain chugging riffs that have given me absolute hell. Once you start getting into polyrhythms and irrational time signatures it can be seriously fucking impressive.. at least to other musicians, since it just sounds like uncoordinated noise to an average listener lol
The funny thing is, if you find certain bands like Meshuggah they actually use 0-0-0-0 in breakdowns and they can become a timing nightmare when trying to play
Bernth, I think all of them can be considered virtuoso. As my friend, a classically trained guitar players says "if you can play the simplest stuff note to note with accuracy and precision you may be ahead of a guy who plays sweeps with 32 notes and makes occasional mistakes".
I love these types of 'multiple-styles-in-one-video' videos, and this is another excellent example. For me, I'm any of the following: Trasher Dissonance Lover Traditionalist 8-5-0 Metalcore (my roots are definitely pentatonic, though)
Same here! And don't forget your minor 2nds (half-steps) and major 2nds (whole-steps) played together like chords.... I like to find all the places in a Major/Minor Scale where all of that dissonance (including in-scale tritones) is actually "in-key" for some "inside" melodic and "inside" harmonic dissonance, and then I start adding "out of key" dissonance for that "outside," extra hideous dissonance! 2 Levels of Dissonance!

The Modernist gave me some "Use Me" by Bill Withers vibes in the beginning, absolutely love it. If you can create something for metal that channels Bill Withers, then you can do literally anything you want with music
Hey! I watched your right hand technique and tried it for myself, and the result is that I have much more control and a constant picking motion. Before I anchored my fingers on the pickup and my picking was inconsistent and not fast (but when I tremolo-pick it is still good to go though). It is like a breakthrough for me and I wanted to thank you for that. Subscribed!

@@Mat-zt4bi i downpick at 232 because my alt pick string skipping isnt good enough lmao but yeah the song is hard af wait until you attempt to learn Diluvium, you'll have to learn incredibly stupid rythms like dotted 16th note quintuplets combined with regular 16th quintuplets and dotted 8th note quintuplets
@@lashedandscorned I'm pretty comfortable with the string skipping but there is a progression where you need to work so hard your picking techniques(post chorus ) you can try it in alternate or sweep but that fucking hard...
@@Mat-zt4bi Do you mean the thing after the bridge, right before the part where the acoustic guitars kick in again? I've also made huge progress on my string skipping in the past 2-3 weeks, which is pretty good. I gotta work some more on upstrokes though.

I’m 10 definitely. My roots are around metalcore since im obsessed with the combination of heavy and melodic sounds of kse. That dissonant one was badass though. Any who are like that im jealous. 😂
Thrash feels like what I was made for, but I'm trying to shred and always impressed by shredders and virtuosos. The traditionalist will always have a special place in my heart, though, and you can't convince me that the steady tried-and-true sound doesn't heal!
I'm the unspoken 11th type; the "needs to get off their ass and practice" Too real jokes aside, I tend to combine the thrasher, the 8-5-0, the shredder (all be it much slower then this example) and the tremolo addict into a mess of distortion and satanic lyrics.
None of the above and all of the above, plus blues, classical, neoclassical, country, etc. I love to listen to and play pretty much everything. :) great video and playing as always my friend!
