- Here is a complete tutorial on how to record video from your underwater camera. This is the perfect solution for recording your ice fishing videos for this upcoming season!
Both Aqua-Vu and MarCum have underwater cameras that have multiple different methods to record. This includes cameras that record on the device, with HDMI out, and with traditional AV out (with RCA cables - old school). I go through each one of these recording options, including what gear you need and how to set it up.
Traditional AV Out tutorial starts at: 1:43
HDMI Tutorial starts at: 4:37
On Device Recording (Portable Units): 6:15
Here is the breakdown:
Marcum Quest: HDMI Out
Marcum Recon 5 PLUS: On Device Recording
Marcum Recon 5: AV/RCA Out - Video Out
Marcum Mission: AV/RCA Out
Marcum VS485C: AV/RCA- Video Out
Aqua-Vu Revolution: Video Out
Aqua-Vu HD Pro Units: HDMI Out
Aqua-Vu Stealth: Video Out

Good stuff. I'm gonna have to try this.
Thanks Pat!!
There is very little info about this on youtube, thanks making this video and being very detailed.
Excellent thank so have a couple of questions. Is this the advice you would give now heading for 2022 or has this tech been superseded
Is it possible to use this to a wireless hub to live stream footage as well as record ?
My problem is I can’t watch from the card on my iPad after recording, it opens wi MPEG-2 Transport stream
Your the shit! You just made it so much easier to figure out the cluster of recording with a rca plug in
This was terrific info Nicole!!!! You bring so much character and fun to your Channel!!!!! Keep up the great job Nicole
Thank you Patrick!
Thanks for the tips..I've been thinking about getting one
Thanks Michael!
i have a eyoyo camera an it dosent have any of these have you ever tried one of those cameras out before ? the only thing i can think of that may work is a split rca video cable cause i only have one video slot which is the camera to the monitor im not 100 % if that would even work tho
I should do a review on one of
Still playing and learning the Lx 9
I really want to get my hands on the LX-9. Do you love it?
I actually own the marcum quest HD and I love it. (Actually have a couple videos of on my channel) the only downfall Is the LED light. It scares the fish away at dawn & dusk. The aqua vu is the best bet IMO. I have the same Avermedia game capture and it works flawlessly @ 60 fps (witch is another HUGE advantage of the Quest HD) Great review!
Thank you!! I'm super happy with the Avermedia game capture and blown away by the quality of the Quest. But Aqua View I know has great products too!
@@NicoleStoneOutdoors yea , the quality of the quest is best in market bar none. Just wish it worked better at night.
@@RushVoorhisOutdoors a youtube channel called Uncut Angling uses a handheld spotlight on top of the ice to light up the bottom and it works surprisingly well, and the fish haven't been scared off so far. I am going to try it myself. I think he uses something like 2000 lumens but not sure
@@pattywatts4640 yea. But that's not the same ....he was fishing in 60FOW. the LED on the camera is right down next to the bait. You'll see what im talking about once you see that fish don't come in to the light just bugs. It also scares em away.
@@RushVoorhisOutdoors oh I am well aware that the light attracts zooplankton and phytoplankton and then brings in baitfish then the big fish come in. anyways the spotlight is a different situation because it is light coming down from the ice as if it were sun/moonlight whereas the light on a moving fat stationary object would be quite scary. that's just my take on why fish are scared of camera light vs spotlight against the ice
Is the footage only white & black?
I was looking at the Recon + But have not picked up any yet.
The Recon is a really solid unit for its cheap price point!
How many hours does the power source last just running the avrmedia? I was looking at purchasing the Anker PowerCore 20100 mAh. Thanks!
Hello, I am having issues with my Avermedia and was wondering if you could help. I am having the solid red light color and it won’t record. I just recently have had this problem and been using the same micro sd card that I have been for the past year. I’m using the Aqua-Vu HD10I. I don’t think it’s the micro-sd card but I’m not sure what else I can do with the camera itself? It works fine. Thank you in advance!
VLC Is a great recourse!
I can't wait for your ice fishing videos this year.
Thanks Nicole
Well thank you!! I can't wait to hit the ice!!!
you're very smart
Thanks
Watching this Marcum video made Mecum
Classy
Have you ever tried the marcum lx-9, Thoughts if you have?
Hi! I haven't tried the LX-9 only the 7 and I love it!
I need a new one, was looking at getting the 485c, what do you get for battery life or how many hours do you get on the battery?
What size SD card do you recommend to make it through a day? I upgraded to the Quest HD this year and ordered this Avermedia recorder thanks to you. I’m a little confused by all the different SD card options.
Make sure it's a class 10. As for size, it depends on how much battery power you have. I usually run out of before I fill up a 64... but if you are looking for over 12 hours then go bigger.
Thanks
Have you tried it on lake Winnipeg on the ice yet?
Not on Winnipeg yet! Which camera do you have?
@@NicoleStoneOutdoors Hi Nicole, I don't have one yet. I have a friend that has an aqua view. He said that last year it worked well on lake winnipeg. The water seemed to be clearer and he was able to see fish come in and bite.
@@tbonechamp I REALLY noticed that the water was much more clear as well!! I'm going to bring it up there this year!
