Great film man! I’m going to have to watch that show now. When my father in law died, my mother in law offered me his Omega de ville. It was gold toned, no idea of the movement. It had a Casio back on it, and the wrong strap. It was also tiny, so I passed on it. The black one in your film is Gorgeous!
Inwas re watching mad men recently and noticed I never had seen the gold watch between the explorer and the seamaster deville, it was quite the surprise, you can see it a couple of times, wish There were clearer shots of it, I was looking for info on the web cause I didnt know what it was and I it was driving me crazy, many , many , maaaany thanks for the info !
@@KillingTimeWithNorman you did a great job, I have the omega seamaster deville , ( we actually talked about it a couple weeks ago) and also have another seamaster deville but all gold plated, Im gonna pretend it’s the same one as the deville prestige hehe , cheers!
I really want an explorer ref 1016, but they are so expensive now. The ref 5500 is more affordable, but at 34mm, it’s a little too small. I don’t like the font on the newer 14270.
Yeah the font on the 1016 is MUCH better than the 14270. 36mm is a good size. I feel like Marlins are Ok at 34mm with their SUPER tall box crystals and flying saucer case - but a more 'conventional' piece would likely look too small maybe.
@@KillingTimeWithNorman You will pick up more nuances with each viewing. Each episode is extraordinarily well done. My dad worked on Madison Avenue in the 1960's and the culture of his office was similar to the show. Everyone had a bar in their office back then and three martini lunches were the norm. It was a very, very different world.
I just revisited the screenshots - and I see he has a round watch on in the first - not sure what that is. Re: the Pacer... Every reference I've seen just states Hamilton Electric, don't think I've seen the Pacer specifically called out. Holy crap, those are good looking watches! Love em! Thanks so much for the info - and for watching!
I don’t usually get into series, but I watched this entire series back when it was first on. Madmen was a vibe.
@@webvideofan Totally!
Nicely researched. The 50s, 60s, and 70s really did have the best looking dress watches IMO
TOTALLY! And thank you so much!

It is such a great show! Bout to go through it a third time :)
The show didn't influence me much in my own watch choices but as a Bulova fan that Accutron ad hit the spot
Yes! The Accutron! 🍸🍸

:) So glad I could help! Credit to the articles I dug through. I personally am TERRIBLE at identifying watches on TV/in movies lol 🍸🍸

@@dicer0075 Oh nice! Congrats on those pieces! I would love to get a no date black dial Deville with crosshairs... maybe sometime this year. 🍸🍸
DD wore a sport watch in season 4 probably because the show follows the 60s--so in 1963/4 James Bond movies are very popular, ergo the dive watch

Currently have access to a Royce dual dial used on the show. It does come with a certificate of authenticity
Oh! Sweet!!
Mad Men is brilliant and my favorite show of all time.
Absolutely! I need to go through it a third time :)

@@dannyg6592 So crazy! I'd be down for an office bar, but 1-2 martinis would be fine for lunch :)
@@KillingTimeWithNorman Agreed! The only thing I could do after a 3 martini lunch would be to take a nap on the office sofa :)

Loved Mad Men and all of Don’s watches
Yes! Man I need to watch it again! 🍸🍸
Do you know where I can see it?
MAYBE HBO Max.
Doesn’t Don start doing a lot of swimming in Season 4? Maybe he appreciated some added toughness & water resistance.
Yes I recall a few pool scenes. 🍸🍸
Anyone know what watch Stan wore?
Hmm I'll see if I can track that down....
I've heard that Ken's watch is a Hamilton Pacer. Obviously it's pretty hard to see, but it does look like that's what it is

Both Omega's are Seamaster De Ville's as opposed to De Ville
🍸🍸
there was a collaboration with Rolex in the season.
Ah! 🍸🍸
