  • Don Draper is one of modern Television's most unique, dynamic, and attention-grabbing characters ever. The way he communicates and changes throughout the run of 'Mad Men' is arguably one of the show's greatest elements.
Of course, a good character needs the right visual touches, and the right touches is something Draper does not lack in. The way his suits are structured is very reminiscent of the show's historical period and setting. The options he utilizes throughout the show make his character a symbol of wealth, affluence, and power. There's no shock as to why Draper has become one of television's biggest personalities.

Detailed analysis. I like the broad shoulders of 80s suits, but prefer the slim ties of the 60s.

John Hamm reminds me of Rick Jason from the 60s series Combat!

i always liked when we saw his suits crease or wrinkle, made them feel real and lived in as he was often wearing his work suits for days on end. you think it was a result or poor materials or tailoring?

Yes. Men’s suits in the 60s used much heavier material that was far less likely to hold wrinkles and creases like that. A good heavy weight wool can actually lose a lot of wrinkles if left hung up for a few days.
