I don’t feel like it’s hate but disappointment because the pistachio isn’t the main player and it’s called yum pistachio, Mona said it was intense and it has low longevity and projection, and she said it was their most gourmand fragrance which it isn’t. Had she described it as a light fresh gourmand, it would have attracted the right people who like this type of fragrances.
Yea, spring/summer fresh floral gourmand is what I’m getting from all of the reviews I’ve seen on the Kayali frag which makes sense with the weather warming up, but I do feel the way it’s marketed is a bit misleading if that is the case as they focused on the gourmand components in the ads I’ve seen. I’ll probably pick it up still though lol
I think I was so focused on the Pistachio Gelato 🍨 aspect that I wasn’t disappointed but if ppl got their hands on the other delicious notes I can see why they’re upset. I am going to keep wearing my travel size because I have a feeling this one might turn into a love after it sits for a few weeks or months. At the moment I am getting the baby wipes soapy gourmand so I am not sure how I feel about it yet. The first spray was heaven!!! But then I started picking up on the florals and that powder and it was not my favorite 🥹 but I’m not giving up on it yet 🥰🙌🏼
Yea I wasn’t expecting the soapiness, which I don’t mind but I think because of the creamy gourmands mixing with it, I was getting that baby wipe scent. I didn’t get it in my larger bottle until the other day but it goes away in like 5-10 minutes. I hope that doesn’t get stronger. I will say revisiting some of the Kayali’s a year later is a different experience. My Vanilla 28 just keeps getting better with time. Let’s see what direction this one takes 🤭

I'm glad that this is a summer scent. I don't have anything by Kay Ali so this sounds good to me. You always hit the mark with your summer recommendations for Florida weather. Laura Mercier used to have a fragrance called Creme de Pistache (might be discontinued) but it was for cold weather & really strong. I'm looking forward to testing this one. Luv that color on you too it's a fave for me.

I purchased a travel spray before the release date thru Instagram. We’ve had dramatic weather changes here where I live in the last two weeks, temps ranging from low 38 to high 85, and I tested this nonstop. I was iffy at first, but I adore it now. My favorite lactonic perfume is Zaldig and Voltaires “This is Her”. It’s a soft nutty warm cozy powdery gourmand. Kayali Yum has this same vibe that includes a freshness on the top notes for me before it settles. I noticed on warmer weather it lasted even longer on my skin, around 6-7 hours, but it did not get sickening cloy. I have a collection of around 70 perfumes and my number favorite is Mon Guerlain EDP. The soft warm powdery feel from that perfume resembles the same powdery initial notes of Kayali Yum. On me, this is the perfect spring/summer gourmand that reminds me of two of my favorite perfumes. I can’t wait to purchase a full size during the Sephora VIB sale.
Someone else compared Kayali Yum Pistachio to Mon Guerlain EDP. I have it but haven’t pulled it out in awhile. Now I’m intrigued 🤔 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one ✨💛✨

i got a sample from someone here in rotterdam before it launched it didnt smell great i am going tonight into the store to spray a large bottle. the opening was kind of sweet windex smell. kitchen cleaner i didnt like it but today its warm and im going to spray it more on my clothes and skin and ill know for sure its real just incase but i think it needs to be warm to smell better. i am a gourmand lover and i got what you are explaining. The Miu Miu sounds amazing but we seem similar the Kayali was also strong on me i need to follow you ❤️

The pistachio isn’t strong in this one like it it is SDJ Cheirosa 62 but I think ppl are forgetting that ice cream/gelato is a gourmand and that’s essentially what this smells like to my nose 🤷🏻♀️

I will say I was disappointed in the Kayali pistachio fragrance. I was so excited. Purchased a 50 ml and received the next day. I will be giving this away. It doesn’t last more than 2 hours on my skin.
Sounds to me like there are much better (and cheaper) pistachio fumes out there. I've never understood the hype around this house. If you're looking for a nutty accord, try BBW Pear Creme Brulee - it is yummy, inexpensive, and you actually get the nuttiness.

Kayali is always on point with their marketing, and they really know how to hype a new release… but so far, I liked and enjoyed their fragrances.. i have yet to try Vanilla Royale though.. i noticed that there were more and more divided opinions and really unnecessary hate since Utopia and then Invite Only.. coz people really expected something else from those scents.. i happen to really enjoy both… and then when Vanilla Royale came out, I initially decided to not watch any reviews, but i couldn’t help myself 🙃 i know that how i feel about the fragrance is what matters most, but like Tera said, i HAVE to hear what SELECT reviewers (like you) say, it’s a matter of trust and experience… so what I am trying to say is, I am glad I watched your review.. I know I will get a bottle of this even before watching a few reviews, and after this, i know i will enjoy it.. a gourmand scent yet perfumey, yes ! I really appreciate how you explained how the scent is in essence pretty similar to the experience of eating a gelato. Most of the time, people confuse the scent of the real food with the laboratory-manufactured representation of that scent. I am guilty of that. Like with American Cream from lush. I expected Strawberry Milkshake. But on my skin, I thought it was too soft and not-sweet. But then I thought, a real strawberry millshake doesn’t have a super strong scent like strawberry flavored candies or whatever… so it’s really important to understand the difference. What a long comment 😅 btw, that Miu Miu is a MUST HAVE for me. I am willing to blind buy it.. when I saw Mango Sago, i was like YES !!!!! 🥰😍

Eating the ice cream 🍨 definitely gave me a whole other perspective 🤭 I think Mona and the Kayali team put a lot into marketing and while it gets me super pumped for new releases and it’s a house I enjoy, I think others are bothered when the fragrance doesn’t work out. I don’t know if it’s my age or my sign but when a perfume is a let down (for me) it’s as simple as that. It didn’t work out and now on to the next one. I don’t understand why ppl get so bent out of shape over perfumes and other materialistic items. Just don’t put your money into those things if it bothers you when it doesn’t work out. And take responsibility for your spending habits. Again, I think it’s my age 😂 Thank you for sharing and that Miu Miu 🥭 is soooo freaking good! I tried to get my hand on another bottle but it’s currently sold out 🥺
I haven’t purchased any of the kayali’s yet, not that they don’t sound good but idk. Something keeps me from shelling out my money on these. Maybe it’s because most of them is lacking in longevity. If it’s a cheap fragrance, I don’t mind that but if it’s not, I expect more or forget it 🤷🏻♀️ Maybe I might get this one in the travel size because if it’s a summer scent, I don’t mind it not lasting long but if it’s not meant for summer, it better last lol idk, I just don’t think I have enough interest in this brand , the poor longevity gets to me , it’s the truth
I get it! There are soooo many perfume houses that just aren’t for me, so I would say don’t even bother if this house doesn’t resonate with you and put your money on what you really enjoy 😊 I’ve never had performance (longevity) issues but I also don’t care for strong, beastly fragrances on the daily. I have plenty but reserve those for special occasions. I prefer more intimate/in my bubble 🫧 fragrances for daily wear 🤍
The opening smells like dishwashing liquid to me. The dry down reminds me of Al rehab soft. Smells good just not what i expected. Probably won’t purchase bigger bottle

This fragrance isn't super gourmand to me at all. I would say Vanilla 28 and Eden are more gourmand. Heck, even Royale is more gourmand. I was disappointed..at first. Now, I am starting to appreciate it.
Vanilla 28 and Royale are gourmand to my nose too! I wouldn’t categorize Eden Juicy apple as one even though it is considered a Floral Fruity Gourmand. It’s more of a Fruity Floral to my nose and one of my favorites from the house 🫶🏼

Lancôme Hypnose is a lovely sweet floral fragrance x or even Armani code. A lot of the older designer fragrances were mainly sweet florals x

Kayali is always on point with their marketing, and they really know how to hype a new release… but so far, I liked and enjoyed their fragrances.. i have yet to try Vanilla Royale though.. i noticed that there were more and more divided opinions and really unnecessary hate since Utopia and then Invite Only.. coz people really expected something else from those scents.. i happen to really enjoy both… and then when Vanilla Royale came out, I initially decided to not watch any reviews, but i couldn’t help myself 🙃 i know that how i feel about the fragrance is what matters most, but like Tera said, i HAVE to hear what SELECT reviewers (like you) say, it’s a matter of trust and experience… so what I am trying to say is, I am glad I watched your review.. I know I will get a bottle of this even before watching a few reviews, and after this, i know i will enjoy it.. a gourmand scent yet perfumey, yes ! I really appreciate how you explained how the scent is in essence pretty similar to the experience of eating a gelato. Most of the time, people confuse the scent of the real food with the laboratory-manufactured representation of that scent. I am guilty of that. Like with American Cream from lush. I expected Strawberry Milkshake. But on my skin, I thought it was too soft and not-sweet. But then I thought, a real strawberry millshake doesn’t have a super strong scent like strawberry flavored candies or whatever… so it’s really important to understand the difference. What a long comment 😅 btw, that Miu Miu is a MUST HAVE for me. I am willing to blind buy it.. when I saw Mango Sago, i was like YES !!!!! 🥰😍

Eating the ice cream 🍨 definitely gave me a whole other perspective 🤭 I think Mona and the Kayali team put a lot into marketing and while it gets me super pumped for new releases and it’s a house I enjoy, I think others are bothered when the fragrance doesn’t work out. I don’t know if it’s my age or my sign but when a perfume is a let down (for me) it’s as simple as that. It didn’t work out and now on to the next one. I don’t understand why ppl get so bent out of shape over perfumes and other materialistic items. Just don’t put your money into those things if it bothers you when it doesn’t work out. And take responsibility for your spending habits.

I haven’t purchased any of the kayali’s yet, not that they don’t sound good but idk. Something keeps me from shelling out my money on these. Maybe it’s because most of them is lacking in longevity. If it’s a cheap fragrance, I don’t mind that but if it’s not, I expect more or forget it 🤷🏻♀️
Maybe I might get this one in the travel size because if it’s a summer scent, I don’t mind it not lasting long but if it’s not meant for summer, it better last lol idk, I just don’t think I have enough interest in this brand , the poor longevity gets to me , it’s the truth
I get it! There are soooo many perfume houses that just aren’t for me, so I would say don’t even bother if this house doesn’t resonate with you and put your money on what you really enjoy 😊
I’ve never had performance (longevity) issues but I also don’t care for strong, beastly fragrances on the daily. I have plenty but reserve those for special occasions. I prefer more intimate/in my bubble 🫧 fragrances for daily wear 🤍
The opening smells like dishwashing liquid to me. The dry down reminds me of Al rehab soft. Smells good just not what i expected. Probably won’t purchase bigger bottle
I stand corrected. I’ve been wearing this for two days and babyyyy when i tell you i love the dry down lol every time i move i get a whiff and I’m like is that me?! Y’all it is yummy in the dry down and i do think i need a bigger bottle.
If this fragrance were very sweet again people would have been here complaining that it's too sweet for summer 🏝️

This fragrance isn't super gourmand to me at all. I would say Vanilla 28 and Eden are more gourmand. Heck, even Royale is more gourmand. I was disappointed..at first. Now, I am starting to appreciate it.
Vanilla 28 and Royale are gourmand to my nose too! I wouldn’t categorize Eden Juicy apple as one even though it is considered a Floral Fruity Gourmand. It’s more of a Fruity Floral to my nose and one of my favorites from the house 🫶🏼
