I salute you Mark, you have save thousands of handicapped dogs and their owners millions of dollars in commercially manufactured walkers.. PVC will last forever and no rust save for the little bit of hardware used. God bless you.
THANK YOU! While I am learning from several videos, you made it simple enough for me to get! While one video had some other details that were helpful to me, its extensive math and verbiage made it too daunting for me. Your measuring techs. were simple and clear. Very smart to wait for gluing until fits check out! How cute "Boston" modeling for you! I can tell you are great with them. My dog was a rescue dog that looks more like that yellowish lab? mix laying by the door. She is 15 years old now and has Cushings disease. So she has been losing more and more control of her hind legs. I am hoping a wheelchair will make us both happier on her short walks. Thanks again 😊
Oh, thank you man. I found a dog today, need the wheelchair, but it's very expensive in my country, now I can make one, because of your toturial, thanks a lot ❤️
I loooove this video so much. My girl is 13, so I will likely be making one soon. I couldn’t imagine spending $500 US for one commercially. Thank you for sharing.
@12:40 ish, Austin is NOT happy about being your video model... If looks could kill... 🤭🙂🙃😀😅 Sponge Bob intermission sign: (7months later…) Thank you for again for taking the time to make this video. I needed to re-visit it today and build another one. 1/2 way thru it now, all is going smooth Just waiting on some glue to dry 👍
I am a59 year old disabled woman that has a French bulldog for part 10 years that is die for.i saw your video n as I one a at a much younger age, I'd do anything to make someone smile which would make my day. Now as i became older disabled and recently blind in one n half eyes due to hosp. Fault of wing surgery, I only make 750.00 month ssd. That is my only income and makes me feel less then useful now that I can't help others as it used to be my main goal. Making dinnertime smile made my day worth living. Lately i can't do anything. I do have 4 kids, grown n grandchildren but don't see them much cause I can't drive so Nino bambino my French bulldog became my bester friends. He's the only one that dint run to me liking for presents will kids n hug me for a long as I will lay on the floor with him. I sorrento all my savings on bets which got me no where. I live in a mobile home n take have nothing to give but all my love n gasdirude n as die Nino, his life back. Cause ii read it only gets worse
Watching this I think I may have saved my dalmatians life a little longer - she is losing her strength now at older age but her spirit wants to be flying all over the place and just can’t - she has an esophageal stricture so she is fed with ensure ( per virginia tech) and her wet food in a blender to keep her at 45 lbs or 42-45 - I didn’t know how on earth to afford something for her like the prices on the ones I keep seeing and want to drive to pa from va to buy one from a lady but total knee replacement isn’t gonna let me do that sooooooo this is perfect I need to figure out her measurements and see if I can make this happen !!!!! Thank you from bottom of my heart for explaining this to me !!!! I will work on this ASAP as she is loosing more and more each day it seems. This will give her a new lease on life !!!! God bless
So happy because I have been looking and looking I have a little caca Spaniel and his Stone down and its back legs explain everything so simple thank you so much it was a great video
Before I put the wheel bolt through the 3/4 coupling I attached a piece of 3/4 pvc to the coupling and then sawed it off at the end of the coupling so that there was twice as much pvc for the bolt to rest on. Just a thought for and extra couple of bucks it worth it for my peace of mind as my Basset Hound is pretty heavy
Thank you man the doggy must love you for this !!! God bless your beautiful soul for helping bro now I’m going to try and make one for my father in laws dog we found out she’s paralyzed back legs and we want to make her one ASAP cu this corona stuff has delayed any delivery for awhile and we need it now
My roommates dog is an old timer and she’s semi blind decrepit but still has fight in her she recently stopped walking since her legs gave out and I want to make a little walker for her I knew this was possible and will attempt this 😭
What I suggest is go buy double of everything you think you need and return afterwards what you don't use . Example : 4 -90 degree elbows , 4 - 45 degree elbows . The pipe unfortunately you won't be able to return what you don't use , but it's not expansive .
We have an 11 year old Doberman mix that lost a back leg to cancer. We are wondering if something like this will help him play with our other dogs….but he weighs about 85 pounds. Maybe I would use bike tires ???
Brilliant design. Great way for a digs happiness. I have a mutt that we rescued as a pup and now at age 8, he’s having difficulty hoping around like a kangaroo. Any chance you have plans for a wheel chair for a dig missing one fore leg?
@@vimallekhraj1910 sorry about taking so long to get back to you . I don't check in often . The plan should work for both the front and back legs of the dog .
sub to you love show xxxxxxchecko is a 15 year old jack russel cross who lost the use of his back legs Either way, if it happens to your pet, you'll need a good dog wheelchair. Wheelchairs for dogs allow them to live there life again
I'm talking to a shelter about possibly adopting a senior pup that has lots of health problems. Of the many she has degenerative joint disease. It doesn't look like she has good function of her front legs. Is there any way you can contact me about a front support chair design?
The concept is the same , regardless of whether or not it's a front or back leg problem . Try making the cart and putting the dog in backwards . You'll have to make adjustments to the straps but it could/should work .
really in desperate need of help and very low budget - you are a saver...i need a four wheel chair for my german sheppard who just got surgery...do you think this marterial can hold her weight (74 lb)? I will find bigger wheels and build it fron and back....I am so happy to have found you...have searched and searched and applyed for help and tryind to find a afforable solution. THANK YOU!!!

Your video looks easy enough. Going to try this for my chihuahua. She recently became paralyzed
Is there a parts list for this video? One would be VERY helpful!

You could cover the rear straps with cut pool noodles for cushioning.

You sir are awesome! I'm trying this with my sisters dog.
Im gonna guess the uprights of the cardboard are about 4 inches wide and 2 ft long. The bottom part is 8 inches wide. 12 inches long.
My german shepherd has use of one of her back legs, is there a way for me to only make this for one side??

Awesome video, I'm gonna build one for our German Shepherd, she has DM :( I assume you used 3/4" pipe ? Thanks very much
I’d love to see a front leg wheel chair! I have a front leg amputee who injured her remaining front leg and would love to make one for her
How would you make for front legs?
What are the straps made of.
Thank you for dodging this. I have 3 senior dogs that will need these. ❤❤❤ God bless you!
Thank you so much for this!! My jrt mix has gotten weak in his hips and needs a little help.

I am motivated to make this. Would you be able to post your materials list so that I'd know quantity and sizes to attain prior.?

@@markbourne151 what kind of wheels are best and where do you buy those, if you don't mind sharing?
For a small dog , I'd buy Scooter replacement wheels from Amazon . @@user-rl8qj8fm1x

The best way is to head on over to @t (or handicappedpetscanada.com) and buy one. They're much better suited to accommodate your dogs needs. =o)
“Or a simple way to do it, is to lift the dogs tail, and measure from height of his a**hole to the floor” 💀💀
Thank you for this guide, it’s simple, affordable, and most importantly has helped my dog live a better life 🙏
PVC= PolyVinylChloride. ABS= Acrlonytril Butadiene Styrene I had to know this on a plumbing test in Votech School.
