What a smart young woman who decided to ask her teacher for help. It gave the students practical experience to help a living being. That is wonderful to watch Chance play.

Not only did this puppy get a set of wheels so he could get around but these students learned how to design. I suspect cats, rabbits, other animals and maybe even humans will benefit down the road. Good for Chance!

I also have a puppy with no front legs. It breaks my heart to see our TOGO (puppy) to just crawl. My husband and I are at lost for trying to build a front wheel for our TOGO 😢

$1000 for a dog wheelchair? thats bs. i hate how the "medical industry" can just set extravagant prices for life altering treatments/equipment.. how is $1000 ethical? these students built a functioning one, for probably less than 60bucks. good for them.
It's not necessarily the "medical industry" if it is for an animal. I agree medical prices are crazy in the states, but here in Canada we get free healthcare. Our pets don't et free healthcare. $1000 really isn't outrageous for a piece like that. The only reason it wouldn't be worth it is because he is constantly growing for a while.
Next step: Make one that "grows" with the dog, at least for a little while before needing another one.

How do you make a doggy wheelchair?
I have a dachshund that needs a cart with front wheels. Everything I see is for paralyzed back legs. My dog's front legs are paralyzed with arthritis. So I'm going to have to figure out how to make one myself.

My 8 & 1/2 year old miniature poodle went from normal self to not walking at all and laying all day on her side in bed. She needs help for everything but can drink water and eat. I’ve switched her to organic soft food, and joint support treats as well as antibiotics, steroids, and valley fever meds after they failed to tell me she had slight signs of it. Until watching her get worse for a week to 2 weeks from walking to not at all. Idk what to do to help her she’s been on the meds about 2-3 weeks now and little to no improvement they said it could be a multi neurological disorder they don’t know have suggested a 4k spinal tap and MRI for further diagnoses. I don’t have these funds and see no improvement but she’s all there, her hind leg goes stiff and one she’s been curling up and can straighten the front ones don’t seem to support her, she’s slightly standing now but collapses if I let go. She’s had 4 chiropractor adjustments and nothing has helped. Please if anyone has seen this before and has any ideas to get life back in her please help. I feel terrible for her and she’s all there otherwise. Its hand and foot with her and I don’t know what to do. Help 🙏
