I just hate how so many people keep saying, 'stop criticizing this film. It's made for kids.' Well, there are animated films that can be made that can be enjoyed by everyone without defiling the story like they did with this film.
And yes, one also has to question O'Hare's air supply, not to mention how Thneedville could have forgotten what trees were. I mean, how long have they been walled in? Grammy knew about trees, she can't be the only old person who remembered them!

Am I the only one who finds it incredibly ironic that this "environmental movie" is being used to promote SUVs, plastic disposable 3D glassic and also disposable nappies (so your babies can literally shit all over the idea of reducing waste).

As Peter Sagal said about it, “I am the Lorax-I speak for a fee”

We don't need trees for their oxygen. We need them for their role in providing habitat for other life, and also their role in the hydrological cycle.

Didn't expect much from it anyway. Sounded and looked middling.

Though I like the 3D effects, I thought that film sucked story-wise. The Lorax is the star of this film. His name is in the title, but he's not even in it much. He should be in it a bit more. I though that the songs suck except for the songs sung by the Once-ler. Also I thought it was a bit short. Why would Ted have to go to the Once-ler a couple of times just to hear the full story? Surely the Once-ler should have told him the whole story in one visit. Plus Zac Efron is good in the role.

Also didn't I mention the lack of narration with it being a Seussian tale? Though this is a work of fiction, I honestly thought that Bottled Air is the worst idea I have ever heard.

I hated this film. It was a complete an utter butchering of the great kid's book and the original short film. Characters had no depth and the entire story of the book was compressed into a 3 minute song (that is a terrible song!) The rest of the movie was complete filler, with an ending that was exactly the same as Wall E. Think about it, Wall E has to take the plant to the center of the ship, Zac Efron's character takes the seed to the center of the town, but only so he can impress a girl.

Really stupid how they felt the need to add a female character.
