    The made 5 Ice Ages???!!! I don't even think the real Ice Age lasted that long. Beating the dead horse enough!

      I think they're catching up with the land before time in terms of numbers

    Anyone else enjoy the first Ice Age?

      It's ok. I think the only reason these sequels keep getting made is so Ray Romano has a steady paycheque

      What are you talking about? Ray Romano has a great film career! Remember Welcome to Mooseport?

      I don't know, I think the second movie is great, possibly better. The first two Ice Age films are some of my favourite non-Japanese animated films. I hope that the next film will sort of continue on from the first one though, having Manny, Sid and Diego meet the human.

      Well, at least his TV career is...okay. At least he got into a TV series made by Martin Scorcese, even if said series was canceled after one season

    The target audience for this movie wasn't even alive when the first Ice Age came out. End it already.

      Could say the same for toy story to be fair

    • @Nimbus487
      @Nimbus487 8 лет назад +16

      No, you really couldn't
      Toy Story progressed in dramatic themes and narrative depth as the series grew with it's audience.
      Ice Age has consistently been simple and targeted at young children.

    • @1080TJ
      @1080TJ 8 лет назад +5

      +Matt Static also, Toy Story is a timeless series that parents will continue showing their kids for generations. Nobody looks back on Ice Age fondly and thinks "yeah, I need to show that to my kids so they can have the same experience I had." Once the original audience outgrows these movies (which happened years ago) the appeal of a sequel, let alone a 5th one, is pretty much lost.

      I think Ice Age 1 and 2 hold up well today and are worth watching, but the rest are such utter rubbish you hope when the ice melts they are sunk so deep that not even a submarine will find them.

      If Ice Age was just one movie with a few shorts and specials here and there, this franchise would have a much better reputation.

    I loved the first Ice age. It still makes me tear up slightly. seeing this film being released makes me tear up too. Only because it's sad how much they are dragging this series out.

    Ice Age is the end of narrative cinema, but Minions, that's a great piece of comedy. Sometimes I don't understand or value Marks positions as much as I would like to.

    After Ice Age: This Time They're in Space, there's only one logical step to go for the next one, and there WILL be a next one... TIME TRAVEL! Scrat pulls out an acorn that was plugging a hole in the space time continuum and the gang get sent forwards to a strange and bizarre time (dramatic pause) OURS!!! I can see it now; in the trailer, there's a shot of Sid in a Hawaiian shirt and shades, bikini clad women groped around him on the top of a limo, shouting "VEGASCH BABY!!!!" (presumably an infamous crime boss who looks just like Sid has set Sid up as a patsy and it's up to Manny, Diego and the others, to save their hapless pal)! And of course, since it's time travel, just throw a bunch of doctor who references! BOOM!!! In 3D, 4D, even ruddy 5D!!! Money please KA-CHING!!! ... okay, rant over

    It's popular for a reason. The 1st one doesn't hold up at all to the later ones. Watched this again last night with my son and he absolutely loves it, very funny in places.

    It's so sad that they've flogged this series into awfulness, because I loved and still love the first one. Ice Age 2 was pretty funny, but not on the same level. Ice Age 3+ just flew into absurdity. I went from liking films to liking very specific characters; Buck, Shira (I honestly couldn't remember her name) and I haven't watched 5. WHY HAVE'NT YOU MADE A DECENT ORIGINAL MOVIE SINCE 'ROBOTS' BLUE SKY STUDIOS?!

    The Dream Weaver gag that Simon approves of is a direct rip-off from Wayne's World.

    The Ice Age franchise either has to get a ground breaking story for the 6th film or just shut it all down immediately. I don't think the movies are terrible, just unnecessary and genuinely stupid.
