- I had a lot of you ask me in the comments about how I am able to export UV maps from Marvelous Designer and edit them in Photoshop. So I filmed a short tutorial showing the basics of exporting with OBJ and also showing what you can do once you've brought it into Photoshop.
This is my first tutorial so I apologise in advance if the editing may seem choppy.

Amazing workflow! Just spent the last couple hours going through all your social media accounts, watching you create amazing things. I'm mesmerized
Aww thank you! I appreciate this comment so much
Great Vid, But one note. When you "resize" your "parts" in the UV editor you will change the actual relationship size of your garment. So that means if you used the same texture for all parts the sleeves now would have a different texture scale. If that makes sense. It's best to keep all same fabrics(s" the same when scaling.
You can enlarge seperatly, say Button uvs for better detail, or a leather patch on jeans etc.
Think of it like cutting these from the same fabric. If the pattern is larger then ot will sit larger on the fabric, so the patteren will be disproportional.
Hey thanks for letting me know, didn't know that affected the texture.
Thank steph! well explain and useful
You're welcome!
Do you see the "Edge Color" section in snapshot function? The square is white in your case. Thats why your UV is white.
You can choose every color you want there...
Wow I didn't know that. Thank you for the message, I've learnt something new :)
You are a life saver!

Can you make a tutorial for exporting normal maps from marvelous designer
I don't usually export normals from marvelous. I usually export the diffuse map which you see in this video. You can easily make normal maps within Photoshop however :)
Could make some video about cinema 4D arnold plugin with marvelous designer, i will be really grateful to you thanks a lot
Thanks
How does one export the normal maps for fabrics from MD?
Nice one, Miss China!
Thank you! 😃
Hi, this helped me but I have another question for you...after I edit my UV Map in Photoshop...then can I import it again in marvelous designer or clo?
I've never tried doing that but I assume you can as long as you save it as a jpeg or png. I'm sure you are able to import the uv's back into md or clo just like how I bring it into c4d via those same methods.
@@stephyfung Thanks it was helpful!
You need to align UV islands by hand...... Welcome back to 2007!
Did you want to get more subscribes
thanks
You're welcome 😄
