    Thank you so much! Finally find my answer to export seamlines uv maps to another 3d software! I had so much trouble trying to export obj from clo to keyshot. Couldn’t find out why the seamlines are not visible in keyshot! Thank you! I can’t wait to try this!

      I'm so happy that it was useful for you! Btw, if you want to export Normal Map for fabric textures - export it separately from the seams and then merge these 2 maps in a program that you use after Clo.

    Thank you for your excellent tutorials on Clo3D, I learned a lot.
    But I have a question: how do I make the surface appear smooth? Particularly in many wrinkles, such as the folds of cloth in the armpits when the hands are close to the body.
    I experimented with the simulation "Fitting (Accurate fabric)", particle distance 3 mm, triangles or quads, subdivide, different fabric material, collision, and so on. However, when we render it at a large size, such as 5000px, the edges still appear jagged and not smooth.
    One workflow that worked for me was export as OBJ (Thin, weld), then subdivide in Blender or use a smooth-brush, then re-unwrap there.
    I also tried Marvelous Designer, which has "sculpting" feature, smooth-brush with which I can achieve perfect results with less total face count. But I'm still curious about Clo3D and I've only been learning this software for 2 days.

    • @MyDressPatterns
      @MyDressPatterns  2 года назад

      Hi, actually subdivision works quite good for me. I usually set PD from 1 to 5 in CLO depending on the size of the detail and it looks smooth. If you need a smoother mesh I think it's better to do a retopology in Blender or in the other 3d software.

    Very helpful video. How do you bake normal map when there are puckering on the edges? I tried here but the transition between the normal of the fabric and the normal of the puckering is very abrupt. Do you know a workaround to blend the two normals?

    • @MyDressPatterns
      @MyDressPatterns  2 года назад

      Hi. Thank you! I didn't bake puckering so far but I bake normal map of seams separately from the normal map of fabric textures. You can try to bake a third map, only puckering, and mix them all together in Blender after all. I usually use "mix rgb" node and choose "Overlay" blending mode.

    Would this still be possible to add textures in blender if you exported the clothes as an a alembic instead of an obj? I’m looking to render an animation simulated in CLO but can’t seem to bring any textures with me 🥲

    • @MyDressPatterns
      @MyDressPatterns  Год назад

      Yes, you can export an alembic and texture it in Blender. If you want to bring textures with you you'll need to bake texture maps in the UV editor first and export with Unified UV Coordinates :)

    whats your favorite texture(textile) website??

    • @MyDressPatterns
      @MyDressPatterns  Год назад +1

      Actually, I don't have one because I don't know any great website with a big amount of different fabrics or fabric textures. I really like Poliigon. Recently they added new fabric textures, but usually, it's upholstery. Substance Source is great but it requires a subscription and you get a limited number of assets per month. Also, there are artists who sell quite good textures on Artstation. Sometimes I can find something good on CONNECT store.
      What about you? What is your favorite website?

    • @MyDressPatterns
      @MyDressPatterns  Год назад

      Hi:) Do you meen you don't see the textures after export? If so, you need to bake texture maps in the UV Editor and plug them in the 3d software you use for rendering. Obj doesn't contain texture information. I think fbx as well.
      There is an option to export your model in gltf format and embed textures in a file. To do so, export in gltf, select all the texture maps in Unified UV Coordinates section and choose gltf-embedded in a file section.

    • @Vaporwave2099

    А как ведет себя нормалка на перевернутой детали на юви? Нормально запекает? Без глюков? Я видел, что паккеринг в кло не учитывает направление. Тупо лепит нормалку вдоль шва. Поэтому и спрашиваю.

    • @MyDressPatterns
      @MyDressPatterns  3 года назад

      Проверила и швы и puckering - все ок, без глюков. Раньше с puckering были проблемы - Normal maps смещались на некоторых швах, но в последних обновлениях это пофиксили.

    • @vadsura
      @vadsura 3 года назад

      @@MyDressPatterns еще нормалки от отделочных строчек (в настройках стежков включить галку 3д) не показывает на нормал мапе. (правда у меня версия 6.1. 186) Может уже починили, добавили? Стоит обновляться?

    • @MyDressPatterns
      @MyDressPatterns  3 года назад

      @@vadsura Честно говоря, сколько версий существует эта функция - 3d, я понятия не имею что она делает. Не вижу никакого результата включив ее. Normal Map для строчек можно включить увеличив Normal Map intensity под текстурой. Но проблема в том, что она заэплаится под Normal Map для швов, и от нее не будет толку. Разве что удалить тектуры швов. Можно еще экспортировать Normal map текстуры отдельно - ткани, швов и строчек, а потом соеденить их в другой программе, типа Blender. Тогда это может сработать.
