I think a k series in a rotary chassis is a good swap, it's another small, light, high revving engine, and they're normally reliable, just not in this case 😂
Fun fact- K24 n/a complete weighs only 45 lbs less than a 6.2 liter v8 with double output. Add a turbo, intercooler + piping, heavy log manifold...it's pretty easy to put together a turbo k that's heavier than the v8...it's just wild to think about. Side note - I love k series, this is not an attempt to downplay how awesome these motors are. Same with a 13b rotary...heavier than you think
For a moment I thought something else had gone wrong and it was only developing 8 horsepower 😂 Top work as always chaps and really impressive weight and balance considering the engine and gearbox
Another great build loving Craig's work as always meticulous, can we have a quick tour around the other cars Jag, the sweet looking Jeep and anything in the workshop please
great vid as always, i know time is always the killer but if possible it would be great to see the Jag get the LS/8HP swap documented, that would be very interesting indeed as these swaps are starting to pick up, cheers
I'm wondering why you wouldn't go with an 8l80e, which is native to that engine? I'm sure Zf transmissions are plentiful over there because they are in BMW's. I'm just curious if there is some particular reason.
I'm curious how different the weight balance and overall weight is with the LT as opposed to the K series/ original two rotor as I imagine they're similar in weight. also would the springs need changing for heavier just to keep up with the load. edit I posted this comment and you moved to weigh it 😂 edit
Bare in mind that the LT engine is a pushrod engine whereas the K24 is DOHC, so displacement isnt the only factor when comparing physical size. A 4.8 K24 based DOHC V8 would be HUGE compared to any 4.8 to 7.4 LS or LT. (all the factory LS / LT are the same physical size I think, just less bore and stroke?). Look at the difference in size between a LS and a Coyote to see how big of a difference engine design can make.
It’s not sold but will be for sale , I have to many toys at the moment and got another one planed . Aston is fantastic but just not using it much nowdays so will be for sale soon
LS V8 every time love how Craig makes any conversion look factory very talented bloke is can you Craig 😉👍🏻
I secretly wanted the k24 project to work out. But this is also acceptable.
I really wanted the K24 to work out. No secrets

@@Russell_and_Rosko shit man, wouldn't have thought that was the case but you learn something new every day
@@Russell_and_Rosko thats what makes pushrod engine so great
I love these talky videos with Jay and Craig 👌

Antagonizing every Puerto Rican with every rev! 😎

Good ol Tinker27 gone are the fun FDuk days 😘
Looks like the engine came in the car hats off to dyno torque
All your toys look beautiful and original all the hours yous put in makes them stock with proper motors
Brummie engineers built the world as we know it during Industrial Revolution…and they are clearly still going strong! ✊

" It's the weight of the starter". Can't stop LMFAO, Craig
Nice Job,Probably Better on fuel than Standard Engine. They only did about 20mpg
My old RX8 averaged 12mpg and the best I ever got from it was 19mpg, which was about 220 motorway miles. 20mpg would be a hybrid rotary 😂
Well done Craig.
Love a Cwaig update
Sounds fucking awesome…… top work Craig.
That’s a lot of work for just 8 HP.
Nice job Craig up to your usual standard love it
Looks so happy with its new heart.
Craig's my favourite walder in the whole world.
XJS is the banger racer of the gods
nice :D
Was actually driving a normal rx8 last sunday and it was a blast ;D
but with a V8 it would be so mental :)
Its got only 8HP, it must have crazy SMOG systems 😂😂
Would like to see video of the jag when finished, also jeep looks interesting too😊

Probably to retain the dash cluster or body harness stuff, idk just my guess
Mainly for the extra control you can have with the zf box
that LT will have a nice low center of gravity 😄

video of doughnut in it next time pleaseeeeee! sick car!
If it has a subframe, Craig’s gunna stick a V8 in it.
Ngl slightly disappointed we didn't get a burnout but after the last attempt, it's understandable 😂
the most almighty burnout machine has been born
2 bags of cement in the back should even it up a bit😉
christ an EFE in background 6:20 not seen one of them in like twenty year!
"700 & overheating all the time would be nice" - LOL. I hear you.
Jay at 14:50 " I'm sure that'll pull it along "
Sweet ride!! Super nice build!! What ecu is controlling the auto trans? Who makes the transmission?
Its a ZF box with Turbo Lamik controller.
Thank you!

What diff is being used?
Only has 8 Horse Power?
Yes, but the car is only 10 pounds so it has a pretty decent power to weight ratio
You can't park there sir
@@Mr16bit not even if he's waiting for a mate?
8 horsepower but 194727 Nm of torque 🧠
8HP is the automatic transmission from ZF
First one here lol never caught your video come straight out, been missing my driftworks fix lol
So why has Craig sold the Aston Martin? I thought that was a keeper…
It’s not sold but will be for sale , I have to many toys at the moment and got another one planed . Aston is fantastic but just not using it much nowdays so will be for sale soon
The world's most inefficient V8 with only 1HP per cylinder 😂😂😂
Can we get a driving vid
Did everyone else read that title as 'LT V8 with 8bhp'?
Many people 😄
looks ace can i have a go ?
😁
Would love to hear what happened to this
It's probably going up for sale to fund a dyno.
@@driftworks Is it ready for road use? I would be interested in buying.
You'd have to speak to Craig. I'm not sure if it's finished or very nearly finished.
Burnout? 🤔
RX8 dry weight is approx 1310kg
Dry weight doesn't matter for shit - fill it with fluids so it can actually be driven, THEN put it on a weighbridge.
He’ll be bored of that by next week and will have a diesel in it…. 😂
Needs more noise in the video we want to hear it go!
Somewhere in the US Dhamn is having a nightmare
Nah, he doesn't care about RX8s.
Take bag off air filter lol
It's a pre-filter. We use them on a lot of cars.
something tells me this produces more than 8hp.... hmmm
