Is is possible for a homeowner to build a back yard putting? Looking to collaborate, contact me, or shop? Check out my website! www.theperfectcutlawncare.one
It came out amazing bro. Everything you touch turns to gold. The putting green was actually greener than the rest of the back yard which is really cool. Its usually the other way around :)
Thanks Keith!!! Lol, if only it were true. I hacked the other grass down from about four inches to .5 inch. It got away from me, and is now in tough shape. Oh well, thanks for watching, always appreciate the support!
I'm a golf course super in northern Indiana and from what I can tell, you're certainly doing it right. It takes time and TLC more than anything. You got it.
If anything I’ve learned from this, is that I have my full appreciation and respect for what you do and the time and nerves that go into it. Much love brotha.
Lol, thanks man I appreciate that! It’s getting there. I have some more work to do to get a truer roll. Hopefully by October. Thanks for checking it out. 👍🏽
Heck yeah! Think you got some PRG, it’s seems so do well real low. Just over seeded it so in a few weeks I’m going to push it. Can’t wait to see how your project turns out
Lol, thanks! Glad to be here, ha. I’m curious too, but so far it’s adjusted nicely. Going to try and go lower after overseed. We’ll see. Thanks for watching!
Same here. So far where it’s not scalping it’s looking like it can handle even lower with out an issue. Will likely need to level a bit more and get a ten blade reel. But I’ll do an update in a few weeks and see where it’s at.
Lol, Thanks Ron. I’m sticking with the SS9000 blend I have now. Did some more leveling and an over seed today. In a few weeks I’ll be able to see just how low I can take this stuff.
So when I did my putting green I have crappy grass cuse I'm out in the country but it is nice and green and thick and I tilled up a huge area and planted some new bermuda grass which is the common grass used on putting greens for the pga and can cut it at usga height of course and it turned out amazing to level my grass after it grew nice cuse it took a while to grow and rain and watering of course made the ground move a little I used a wacking packing machine and packed it down very tight then let the grass recover and errogated it really good then used sand to finish leveling it with a roller packer that golf courses use on a weekly basis when they re sand the greens and it's beautiful. But yours man is very beautiful as well
Thank you! Bermuda makes a great golf green and wish I was far enough south to grow Bermuda. The Rye is ok, but it would make more sense for me to do bentgrass. Regardless it’s enjoyable being able to roll a few putts when ever. A lot of work, but glad to see others taking the plunge into a backyard putting green 🤜
Lol the dance; stiff as a board!!! It’s getting there brotha. Pumped for this time of year and can’t wait to see how yours, stripermans and everyone else’s projects go!
@@theperfectcutlawncare Yeah, I'm excited about it. I wish I didn't have rain coming again this week and I could finally level it, but I'll try to stay patient (I'm not lol)
Hi, Really hope the wife appreciates your hard work, but nevertheless, knock back a beer and then enjoy some serious putting. I bet your wife will get into it too. You did a great job. Nice upload and a big thumbs up.
Lol, my 8 year old taught me, and wanted me to add it ha! But the green is coming along, it’s got a little bit to go before it’s got a true roll. Maybe another month.
My neighbor built a putting green (yours looks nicer) but he also used play sand. After the first bag he realized there were more rocks then he liked so he bought a plastic pasta stringer with the holes in it. Took a drill and made the holes slightly bigger and used it to get the rocks out. Worked real well actually. Probably took more time though
Bentgrass will makes a better green. Ryegrass I could maintain at .125” but it needed a lot of water at that height. Best park about rye is that you can let it grow out and you have a reasonable lawn. Bentgrass you’ll have a mess on your hands.
@@phantomairsoft1 definitely a day by day process. So far pests have been the biggest issue. Sand leveling is supposed to help with worms, which have been a nusiance. So we’ll see how that goes this year. You reel cut yours?
@@theperfectcutlawncare if you saw my green you’d recommend me a knew yard 😂 but no I don’t have any fancy tools just lawnmower and a weed wacker I need to get some grass seeds cause I have lots of visible patches throughout the yard that I’d rather see grass there
It’s all good. I’d be antsy to seed this spots this spring though, ha! I’m no pro but I’ve never had an issue spring seeding. If you have any questions about it, let me. Cheers.
Ahh yesss the ol' "build a putting green in the backyard while the wife's away"... Classic
Lol!! We’re still married by the way, but it was a close one.
Backyard ahead doesn't care. It's the front that'll upset her!
The monotone, straight-faced "so I went out and bought 750 pounds of sand" always gets me 😂
Lol 😂

@@theperfectcutlawncare preach it ❤️
@@theperfectcutlawncare at least you don't have to worry about the average golfer 🤣
Man that looks fantastic! No need for vent grass for sure. Really impressed with the colour as well:). Keep up the great work

Very helpful video. Now you need a bunker dude.
Lol. One day if I decide I’m never moving, ha!
The intro is probably the manliest thing I’ve ever heard
Lol 😂 👍🏽
Love it! I'm joining you and putting one in the front yard in a couple weeks

Welcome to the backyard putting green club! Lol , looks awesome. Curious to see how the PRG holds up to the very short HOC.
Lol, thanks! Glad to be here, ha. I’m curious too, but so far it’s adjusted nicely. Going to try and go lower after overseed. We’ll see. Thanks for watching!
I'm super interested with how well that ride does at low. Looking fantastic!

Great video can’t wait to see a full PRG putting green. What and where did you get your seed from. Dad dance moves are the best.

Good luck, a lot of precipitation out there in Buffalo . Wash outs can be frustrating. First time all year I’m looking at dry weather.
Dude....Nice! Putting in one myself now. Thanks for info.
Thanks bro! Been a lot of work, but worth it.

Ha! Thanks so much. It’s been a lot of work. She’s quite indifferent to it, ha! But I enjoy it. Thanks again 👍🏽
This is awesome. I am not a golfer, but I always thought it would be fun to on a grounds crew at one. And nice flossing by the way.

Thought I smelled sand somewhere in the air. Love it!!
Lol!! I was inspired by these two sand slingers on a show called The Lawn Tools.
@@theperfectcutlawncare :) we do love sand lol
Heck yea brother!
Thanks brotha! Can’t wait for next season to get the speed up...you got an awesome channel over there.
It looks amazing considering you've only been at it for a few weeks! Only thing now is that I wish I had one in my backyard😂

Play sand can be hit or miss for sure. I found a place in my area that delivers good quality mason sand. Been a huge help
@@theperfectcutlawncare well it looks great. Nice work
When you said quickcrete I just thought about some product we have in aus and imagined that green turning to concrete 🤦♂️😂😂😂😂
Lol, that might actually help me get the green speed up a bit quicker . 😂👌

how do u cut ryegrass at that height, im tackling same project but shouldnt i be getting bentgrass?? cheers brother

I'll make a tee off spot in my yard so we can have a par 3 hole! Lol 😆
Lol, we could definitely do flop shots from the front yard! Until I break a window.
@@theperfectcutlawncare Don't blade your wedge shots and the problem will be solved😂

good entertainment
Ha!!! Thanks for watching. Appreciate it.
Never use play sand !!!
I thought she’d spray him!
What kind of seed do you use 4:37
Ss9900 rye grass…seems like it’s been out of stock for ages.
