I have the previous gen one and it not only fits but is awesome. Love the deep rumble and pops/bangs when rev matching.
I had the last one too. Didn’t fit properly. Had a ton of drone as well. It’s likely why they are marketing these as “no drone” models.
@@Jaylyons1 this is odd, I have the older model on the new gr86 and fitment was perfect, and I don't get any kind of drone at any rpm
I just installed my S-Type today and it’s it’s great balance of sound. Those deeper tones sound lovely 🤤 🖤
Does it just fits or I need to do some adapter? I bought one already but my friend that is helping me was asking. And me with out knowing too much about car didn't even thought about it might not fit?
But why would they sell it if it doesn't fit with the oem parts 😂

@@user-bh9xf4en3i hey I also had the same issue with the gasket. The place I got it installed got the leak taken care of somehow but. Also I do get a drone but not sure why. I would reach out to Borla to see what they say.
I am happy to know the the Borla family has some of the best in each department of creating their exhaust and induction systems. I know it's been a decade as I watched an episode of Counts Kustom's where David Borla introduced Borla Sr. I would like to say, happy & safe holidays to the Borla family, as we move into 2023. I enjoy the sound of the s-type but Im in great debate with my self between, the borla S-type and the apexi N1 E exhaust.

Any dB ratings? Would be cool to see a comparison of all 3. I loved my old one on my last gem BRZ, but it didn’t fit quite right on the new model and the drone was rough. Looking forward to this one!
Hi! Although we've seen some customers use our system for the first generation on the second generation cars, it is not something that we recommend doing.
Here are the decibel measurements. Please note, we use the SAE J1492 test standard which is a stationary test. Testing is performed on a stock car with the exception of our Cat-Back system. The stock exhaust averaged 72.5 decibels, the S-Type averaged 89.3 decibels, and the ATAK averaged 93.8 decibels.
These systems have been released and are now available to order.

My Stype is unfortunately defective, front muffler doesn’t fit, I am waiting for the replaced one arriving But generally I love the deep tone, will comment again afterwards.

Any plans for an axle back? I'd buy the S-type in axle back form. (looking at the design, I'm guessing no)
Hello! Unfortunately, we do not have plans to offer an Axle-Back system.

I currently have the 1st gen S-Type on my GR86. Will I be able to use the tips and the muffler section from this new kit on my old kit?
The muffler section would fit. The bigger 5" tips would be close to touching the bumper. With that said, unfortunately, we do not sell components separately from our exhaust systems.

what's the diffence between the 2nd gen S-Type from the 1st Gen S-type exhaust?
None, just fitment
Hi! The 2nd gen S-Type is going to be a bit more aggressive than the previous gen. It also has a different exhaust tip that is now available in chrome and black chrome.

For the atak will it pop and bang on down shifts if you rev match?
Yes it does, can confirm. It's pretty aggressive sounding.

Unfortunately, the S-Type exceeds the ECE dB levels.

Will the second gen exhaust have better fitment for the second gen car rather than the first gen or the same
Hi! This exhaust system will have better tip alignment for the second gen BRZ/GR86 and the tips are also slightly bigger at 5". This S-Type sound level is also going to be a bit more aggressive than the previous generation S-Type.
Will this work on EU version of the cars? You probably already know this but we have the damned GPF installed after the cat
Hello! Yes, this should work on the EU spec cars. The flange that our system bolts up to is in the same location. It does not remove the GPF. It may sound slightly different due to the GPF.
So I just installed mine yesterday.
1 oem gasket won't fit. It's too loss

Unfortunately, we don't have a system with ECE-approval for the GR86. The ATAK and S-Type sound levels exceed the EU sound limits.

What is the differnce between S-type and Attack?
Hi! Sound is the only difference. The ATAK is more aggressive than the S-Type, but the S-Type will have a deeper note.

These Cat-Backs are different from the previous generation systems. Our current rough estimate is a mid to late Q1 release.
