On his first video you offered to send him a free replacement if he blew his amp on .67 or .5 testing, now you offer to refund him if he wants to do a giveaway. Jonathan really has done a phenomenal job with this company and I really am glad that he decided to go ahead and release his own brand of amps

    I purchased one based on a few ideas in my head. 1) JP is a total bass head. He knows what is good. 2) this is the first batch and I believe first batches are usually robust and later versions can be trimmed down in some areas to lower production costs. 3) as this is his first amplifier I figured he wanted it to be a great success and doesn't need a first offering failing and getting bad reviews. Therefore I thought it would be over engineered .

    Look, I undersrand that having a starting voltage of 15 - 16v gives you cool inflated numbers to look at, the fact is however that nobody is getting more than 14.5 volts from their alternator at full duty cycle, and they're going to see a lot of vdroop from there. If the amp has 12v ratings on the box, try and do your tests so the final test voltage is in the mid 12v, so it's a relevant test for the viewers! Cheers 🍻

      Newer cars will vary the duty cycle of the alternator to A prevent premature battery wear and B increase engine efficiency. For example, my Liberty will output 14.4v right after a cold start-up, then quickly fall to 14v no matter the rpm, then continue to fall until the car reads the battery as charged, then it turns the alternator off altogether until a high electrical load is detected, eg headlight, demister, AC electric seats, electric windows all at once.

    Also I think the biggest takeaway from your vids and alot of people dont realise is the current draw. I've seen it time and time again. John doe puts a 5k amp on the car and wonder why it doesnt sound like 5k watts. Well, if I can quote Steve Meade, IT TAKES POWER TO MAKE POWER!. You cant have a 5k watt amp on factory wiring and alternator. Maybe with enough caps and batteries, but with a stock alternator, it wont last long...

I just pre ordered the CAB 45! Can't wait but im gonna have to...whaaaa! but gives me time to do the mandatory upgrades I need for going to a true 5k from a APCLE1800. It was a toss up from the CAB45 $379 and a $399 B stock SFB5000 at Audio Apex but I decided to go with the looks and beefieness of a half bridge. I wish someone could help me. I have a 2019 impala premier. Long story short I’ve already completely upgraded everything. 3 amps and a yellow top battery in the back. My troubling question is I have a pacaudio amp pro GM 61, I believe, which ever one works for the Bose system and my question is I have to turn my front and rear amp down because I have a continuous shhhhhhhh sound like when your TV is turned all the way up and there’s nothing playing, that static sound that you get. Not a crackling sound but just that quiet sound. I have been told it’s called white noise. I know there is someone out there that can help me fix this problem. Pac audio told me to switch the little voltage button on the unit and it did drop the static sound a little bit but it is still there. I need to figure out the problem so that I can turn my amps up. There should be no sound coming out of those speakers till the music is turned on. Can someone please help me.

    It's lowpass filter is 35-250 but I just wish it played below 35 Hertz! The Orion XTR 2500 D would be pretty comparable but goes down to 20 Hertz! About $200 more though so idk maybe two of these is the way to go!

    • @timstarnes8587
      @timstarnes8587 3 года назад

      The low pass filter filters out frequencies above 35 hz, not below 35 hz, hence why it is called a low pass filter. This amp plays just fine below 35 hz, as do most amps.....unless there is an active high pass filter engaged.

    I own one, I bought it the day he released it, I live in vegas, I was pumped to get it, but that turned out bad after it over heating all the time in the summer in vegas, it just cannot deal with heat at all, at 120 degrees it turns off, and I am done for hours, I assume I got a first run lemon... my Kenwood 1800w never failed... so who knows, but what REALLY pisses me off is the Reviews on Down4South are filtered and my Review was not posted so do not take what is on D4S at face value.
