  • Hi everyone,
Here’s a quick health journey update.
Let’s start with weight. I weighed in at 290.1 this morning, which is a healthy number. I’ve now dropped just over eight pounds since the beginning of the month and 28 pounds since the beginning of the year. All and all. I’m feeling very good about how the health journey is going.
As for Active calories, I’ve had a little trouble over the past few days hitting my 1000 mark. I think that may have to do with walking getting a bit easier as time has passed. Still, yesterday I did a lot of cleaning and moving around the house and managed to hit 1274, which I think is my best one day number of the year so far. That was great but I did have four of the last seven days under 1000 active calories. That big day did push my average for the week to 1025 though, so I’m happy to at least get the average back above 10,000.
My average steps walked this week was a healthy 11,416, and I did not have a day below 10,000 so it isn’t the steps that are the issue.
I think it’s just that the steps aren’t quite burning the number of calories they used to. This makes sense because I’m pushing 28 less pounds around the track than I was at the beginning of the year. I know my speed has increased, but I may need to make some adjustment to keep burning 1000 calories a day. Either that, or be satisfied with 950.
My blood sugar numbers have been very good. I’m averaging just over 100 the past week, which puts me almost in the normal camp. I think as long as I keep to the plan, I should have an excellent A!C in May.
My keytone numbers have been great this week, averaging out to a 1. Since .5 puts you in nutritional ketosis, my goal, having a 1 is fantastic. I give credit to my low carb, high fat diet, which has kept me at about 20 carbs a day in the past week, with an average of 1620 calories a day. To be clear, I’m not consciously trying to limit my calories, it’s just that with this diet, I rarely feel hungry. I’m also going to give some of that credit to Ozempic.
Overall, I’ve been feeling ok, and occasionally even good. Last week was a bit stressful because it was spring break and the twins were home all week. I really like having a set routing and when it gets interrupted I get stressed. I am looking forward to some normalcy this week.
That’s in for this video. I’ll leave you with my Sir Terry Pratchett quote of the day. This one is from Night Watch.
“That’s how it goes. Meetings in rooms. A little diplomacy, a little give and take, a promise here, an understanding there. That’s how real revolutions happen.”
