Jean- I had an opportunity to watch this review again. I bought this pedal based on your review.
Best decision in a while. The compressor on this unit blows everything away. So tight, very quick, and very musical. According to the builder, this is an " all buttons on" version of his fave compressor.
This pedal is a great alternative to the current crop of DG pedals, as it has its own sound. Im not a fan of the wobbly knobs or no DI either, but Ive put it in my signal chain.

A pretty neat pedal, it get more presence of the bass on the mix nicely. Thank you for this great review ;-)

The more I hear it, the more I think it’s a great pedal for anyone wanting to record a solid bass line without spending too much time on finding a (very) good sound.

Great sound!!!! I think it works great even without a cab sim. A Di this pedal and you have a great sound for your bass. I think this is going to be my first preamp bass pedal :)

I actually think this sounds better than the SGT that you reviewed....if you put a d.i. / cab sim after this like say an element this would probably be killer...to my ears it's better.

I wrote an answer before (that I deleted) thinking you were talking about my latest review of the Matribox and your comment caught me completely off guard! Seeing that you were actually talking about the Skarbassone makes a lot more sense. Yes, add a DI and bass cab and this thing definitely is a killer modern sound saturation device, all-in-one solution for all types of situations, stage or studio.

Oh man, the comp and eq (mid+mix) in this pedal are spot on for bass.

@@thewetterbass I get adverts for it all the time on Instagram. Seems like it’s been very well thought out and they’ve crammed a lot into a small package!

95% of my work is live work. So no DI-out is a k.o. criteria to me. It's a pity, because overall it sounds awesome and puts everything together with easy use (very few knobs to check before you go on). With a DI-out it would be the perfect unit for live us with minimal equipment. Maybe with a V2. Until then I will stay with my Tech21 gear.

I understand you. You do have to consider the quality of the DIs transformer. Perhaps it was a choice of the constructor not to include one as the best are pretty expensive and would raise considerably the price of the pedal. Active DIs are cheaper to build but some would argue passive sounds better. So you could just include a good passive DI box to your pedalboard along with the SkarBassOne and “voila”. Thanks for watching!
