No one seems to understand the difference between state and federal time. A 41 year sentence on federal time means he'll spend about 39 years. This is a state sentence; he could be out in 12-25 years depending on that state's policies and how he acts while incarcerated. The reporter stating that he will be 58 years old before he gets out is very bad at her job.

there no CONSISTENCY in law like this in either Canada OR the USA, in my lifetime observation and experience. However, the stats in "your country" are probably not available. Like in France, most judicial findings go on "behind the scene" and the public is not really invited, wanted, or is judicial "oversight" practised as in the USA: cameras in the courtroom, regular citizens of the realm are allowed to observe the justice is SEEN to be done. In Canada you'll get challenged as to why you are there, as in the UK and olld systems.

I was born to a mother who barely let me eat, made me stay in my room until I was old enough to go to school. Just hated me and made sure I knew it. So I am not speaking from a place of just a wonderful blessed life.
You can believe this or not, but GOD helped me to get through it. My Grandmother took me to a wonderful little country church. She bought me a wonderful children’s Bible. I found great comfort in the story of Joseph in the Old Testament. There were times, it felt like there was someone between she and I. I knew GOD was with me. There were a couple of times when things were miraculously provided for me.
But the things that happened to me, Truths in Holy Scripture, and Prophecy past and to come has convinced me that GOD is real there is a better place to go to.
Did you know that there are a couple of things written in Scripture which are true. However, it could not be known to be true when it was written? I believe because I have felt and seen GODS PRESENCE and studied Holy Scripture.
I hope you find truth and Salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ.😊
He could easily end up never getting out of prison for this crime, there are unwritten rules and lifers that deal with guys like him.

No one seems to understand the difference between state and federal time. A 41 year sentence on federal time means he'll spend about 39 years. This is a state sentence; he could be out in 12-25 years depending on that state's policies and how he acts while incarcerated. The reporter stating that he will be 58 years old before he gets out is very bad at her job.

there no CONSISTENCY in law like this in either Canada OR the USA, in my lifetime observation and experience. However, the stats in "your country" are probably not available. Like in France, most judicial findings go on "behind the scene" and the public is not really invited, wanted, or is judicial "oversight" practised as in the USA: cameras in the courtroom, regular citizens of the realm are allowed to observe the justice is SEEN to be done. In Canada you'll get challenged as to why you are there, as in the UK and olld systems.

Not really. I'm not as comfortable sentencing a 14 year old to 40 years. The person he abused is severely traumatized and she should have a permanent restraining order against him, but no, us rape victims aren't going to use a 14 year old's sentence as an example when too many rapists get little to no jail time, adult rapists with no excuse.
