We know why people do stuff like this. That's not the mystery. He's obviously has a bad childhood/life, probably has done drugs, probably has undiagnosed mental illness and slipped through the cracks, probably was hearing voices, he might be schizophrenic, he shouldn't have been out in the public domain to begin with. The mystery is why/how did he slip through the cracks and how many priors does he have and will he be released yet again for the umpteenth time.

Poor folks rarely get mental health help. When rich corps need help, they get lawyers, accountants, and taxpayer bailouts.
