You get awesome tones all the time! The truth is you don't need expensive pickups at all. I leave my solar's stock. My strandberg did come with expensive pickups :P .
I mean, this is why I love Guitar Fetish pickups. Dirt cheap, USD$20-$40 a pickup, and they have a built-in hot swap ability using their kwikplug tech... Solder once, never again, and have infinite pickup swaps for the future. They also sell kits to make pickups from other brands into kwikplug compatibility.
Very clear and cutting, no obvious honking or dullness. Killer leads too man!
Best deal so far for me are the Fleor Hex Humbuckers which seem to be similar to these ones!

It sounds very agressive and clean, probably cut well in a mix, really good 👏🏾
They sound great. They almost sound active as well.
I paid something like £115 for the Seymour Duncan Nazgul, and while they were an improvement on the previous stock pickups, there wasn't enough of a difference to justify over one hundred quid.
For £18, these sound absolutely amazing!
However, I did buy a black bridge, plus volume and tone knobs from Vanson and they were considerably cheaper than the other brands.

He's breaking out the Cort KX1Q this time! That guitar looks like it has some premium features for a reasonable price. You aren't getting abalone inlays on a Charvel or Jackson unless you dive into custom shop territory, and that neck looks really clean and speedy. I don't know why my local area is so difficult trying to find gems like this, and even Harley Bentons are hard to find for some reason. Also, it sounds better than my 1978 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, for what it's worth. I bought it that year for $750 new, if you can believe that. Great tone coming from the bridge pup if you ask me! 👑🎸🔥

I've never heard of them, and I love cheap awesome stuff! 😁 Sounded great, tho! Have you ever hear of Donlis? I tried the DH05 set and man, those blew me away. Less then 40 bucks for a pair, and gain for days. Hotter than active EMGs. ❤
